Trinidad looks beautiful. Great coverage and 100% impressive when it sinks in that our brothers and sisters from the continent are over here and showcasing our country islands in a positive light. These videos are better than any movie I can see.
Love using the Water Taxi.
True story. One morning I went to use the water taxi to San Fernando and I saw it was getting ready to leave. No big deal, I would wait for the next one.
But when I bought the ticket, they actually hold the boat so I could board it and I was the only passenger on board going San Fernando. It was a interesting experience being the only one 😅
Wow , rel Trini vibes there..total bligh..
Come on people let's get our girl to three hundred thousand 🎉❤❤❤❤❤ Africa T u always have such beautiful content 😊😊 blessings 💞
The picturesque view of Port of Spain leaving the port is so beautiful.
We as Nybian needs to drop those European titles like The Port of the Spanis/Port of Spain, and change to the Port of ....go figure....All these European names are not giving justice to our past...and those saints are no better...Like Saint John/San Juan in Antigua and Porto Rico respectively...if we are to truly recognise how they've manipulated our train of thought with all these European titles..
@@ashleyogarro2686 We will have to change the name of Trinidad as well.....
@@ashleyogarro2686 You're right, but I think soon we may be seeing chinese like son ju, wan ku, etc....
@ashleyogarro2686 I been telling those Africans about that Lake Victoria in Africa.
@@stillirise7813 Fire bun That so call woman dem call Queen Victoria...yes that name lake Victoria needs to be changed to an African Queens name,or even a an African King. This is how they take our very essence....
the waterfront in S'fdo is being developed as we speak, including a new water taxi terminal and surroundings...
Can;t wait to see the new Sando waterfront. It needs some improvement
@seygra20 Yep and again it would've been done ages ago had Mr.Manning had his way...we lost decades of development in just over one decade after 2010..

AT. Thanks for the informative video. Although I was born and grew up in Trinidad, I only passed through San Fernando once to go to the Pitch Lake.
To your point, the Atlantic has the different shades of blue for a number of different reasons.
1) A passing cloud up above can sometimes cast a shadow below. In the Caribbean (with wide-open areas in parts it's more pronounced.) At this time of year, December 21 especially- the sun is close to above 0 degrees (the equator) Trinidad being at 10 degrees north. Means the sun is almost directly above you. So shadows will be cast down below, not off in the horizon as in higher latitudes.
2) Water from the Amazon or Orinoco River in Venezuela carries a lot of different rich nutrients (or pollution) from illegal gold or silver mining etc. Some of this runoff water will have various chemicals which will taint Atlantic water.
3) If there's white sand which gets stirred--up by currents, at sometimes this can create like a cappuccino effect in a glass.
4) Schools of fish can create a dark spot(s) in the water.
5) Whales or shakes can also create a dark spot in the water.
6) Seaweed drifting can create different colour spots.
7) Rocks or sandbars just below the water's surface or even boat vessels under the water can create discolourations too.
Thanks
The difference between the shades of blue in the water occurs because Trinidad sits at the mouth of a the Orinico Delta, a massive river coming from Venezuela. The Orinoco empties into the Gulf of Paria, which is the name of the body of water you are sailing on.
There is also another , big river from Trinidad emptying into the Gulf of Paria called the Caroni River. But the Caroni river empties into a large mangrove called the Caroni Swamp which then filters into the Gulf. So both bodies of water blends and cause the discoloration because of heavy minerals and sediment from the rivers.
Nope that's not the case here, this also happens in Tobago and many other places. What you're talking about would cause the water to be brown. This she's asking about would be due to shallow reefs or deep areas.
Cloud shadows..
This is very true the Orinoco river delta and the Caroni rivers empties into the Gulf of Paria which gives that brownish color.
@@leslynfiawoo4184 not in certain spots like that...the water would be more consistently brown and look like tea ...like Manzanilla and Mayaro at times which I think is more affected by that....remember between SanFernando and POS is sheltered by the southern and northern points and those currents would be deflected into the open Caribbean sea.
I think the east coast is more susceptible to that and with bad mainland weather it manifests with floatilas filled with mainland species ending up in those areas more than anywhere else ..
@Trinavara The explanation given are facts. You can also Check out Google for more information , or your library for Geography books with the information.
This is very true the Orinico delta and the Caroni delta empties into the Gulf of Paria.
There're no reefs in the Gulf.
Beautiful place and great people ❤️ Glad to see you in the Caribbean having a great time!
Just love you , African Tigress !! You have a warm and very adventurous personality ❤❤❤You blend effortlessly and have great content which keeps us animated !! Proud of you, dear.
I left Trinidad and Tobago for so long and it’s the first time am seeing their water taxi 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾 thank you for showing this trip
4:15 Honorable Minister Penelope Beckles-Robinson
nice blogg african tigress ,lovely mannered man who accompanied you, much❤
T&T is so beautiful thank you so much for sharing sending greetings from France
Hi AT.The apparent colour of the water is caused by the apparent colour of the sky and the continental shelf. when a ship crosses the boundary of the continental shelf the water will appear to be a very deep dark blue. Water which is inside the boundary of the continent shelf, close to land, will be relatively speaking, a light blueish-green colour.
African Tigress I'm happy you finally got something you wanted in T&T. I was starting to think were letting you down. Not being able to find the things you wanted.
❤
The mall is beautiful look like USA 🇺🇸 mall ❤good video African tigress keep up
What a beautiful Water Taxi , I wish some the islands that are closer to each other will invest in this type of transportation . It looks absolutely comfortable and an enjoyable experience. I do believe Trinidad , Barbados and Guyana have signed an agreement to have ferry services between the three countries. It is very expensive to fly between the islands .
Other islands do have the same ferries martinique st lucia Dominica Guadeloupe..
Yes its the L'Express Des Iles ferries between the four islands.
AT If you like those smaller fast water taxi ferries, wait till you see the bigger Tobago fast ferries..there are even 2 brand new ones..state of the art and among the fastest and most advanced ships in the world..
You must book one to Tobago, either the Bucco Reef or the APT James, those are the newest ones..and the route will give you great footage opportunities along the North West and North coast and Tobago, it's like a nice 2-3 hr cruise on a brand new modern vessel..
Even setting off you can get some great footage including NAPA and Woodbrook Place and more in the background and Movietowne and scenic and impressive parts of the 'West' in the foreground.. Make sure and sit on the right side of the boat it will be facing out when you board so right is right..and you can go outisde on the look out deck at the back..really good for footage trust me..
AT and when you're coming back you could fly back and get both experiences...it may be the shortest flight you've ever taken in your life also btw ! 😎
@Trinavara, you forgot to mention you can put your car on the tobago ferries
@@Candace464 lol yeah !!
I didn't know there's a water ferry that goes to San Fernando. Wow, that's cool . 😎🇹🇹🇺🇲
Since 2008 ❤🇹🇹
It is called a water taxi. The ferry which carries dozens of cars and hundreds of people, go to Tobago and is much larger and more than one story. We don't really call it a ferry in Trinidad although it may be really considered that in some parts the world. I am surprised he said that.
Where you from?
@@islandgirl3330 Sorry I called the water taxi a ferry , I was born in Trinidad but moved to the US a long time ago . There wasn't any interisland ferry/ taxi when I lived in Trinidad. I love Trinidad so much, it will always be my home.
@@misstrinialicia643 Are you saying since 2008 the water taxi to San Fernando has been operating.? If so, thanks for the info, that's fantastic.
You can probably use our steelpan music in the background of your Trinidad videos. Steelpan compliments our Caribbean environment well.
AT I love and admire how brave and adventurous you are.
Your appearance and voice is very cool. You sound very friendly. I love that Africans are stereotypical friendly.
Hello African Tigress, I'm watching from North Carolina, USA and was so happy to see you in my hometown, San Fernando! There is so much to see in southern Trinidad, but I am sure that you have limited time. Thank you for the glimpses of my childhood hometown. Also, the Minister that you saw was a relative, to us she is just "our cousin Penny". Amazing to see a family member on your blog. I will keep looking to hopefully see more but if I don't... it's still wonderful seeing my Trini people. Enjoy Carnival Tuesday. Take a last lap for me, then stop by Tobago and take ah lime!
The on the new phone is really good. It’s a conciliation for having to all over Trinidad to get it. Congrats 🎉
It was a nice vlog with the senic view of Port of Spain. WAS happy to catch a glimpse of San fer Nando. Enjoy your evening. Stay safe🎉❤
San Fernando. There are lots of Spanish names for streets, towns, and cities in Trinidad, along with those derived from the British, French, Dutch, and original indigenous Arawaks and Caribs natives.
The sea gets it's colour from the clouds up above ,so that the different shades in the sky is reflected in the waters beneath.
T&T is so beautiful, can’t wait to visit 🇯🇲 🇺🇸
I watched your channel as you pop up on my youtube tv. I saw you in Trinidad in January, then I saw you on Colaz Smith TV in Jamaica. I like your content because I want to travel the Caribbean Islands upon retirement. I’m a Jamaican living in America who has been visiting St Lucia since 1990. Great information you post. Your vibes is friendly too. Blessings on your travels.
Wow, great content, AT! I am enjoying the beautiful views. Blessings for continued safe travels.🤗🌹
So sorry that you didn't have time to visit the San Fernando hill. Thanks all the same.
After Carnival
Thank you ladies from the mother land for introducing Trinidad and Tobago to the wider community of the world especially Africa
Lovely video, never seen this side of Trinidad before and also the water taxi very nice. Nice phone 👍. Thanks for sharing.
Look at local TH-camr also you will see alot more beautiful places in Trinidad and Tobago ❤🇹🇹
My dear African Tigress, I am loving all of your videos, the Barbados , Jamaica and Trinidad but this particular one make me want to visit Trinidad again.
Thanks for sharing your adventures. The water taxi has brought back some nice memories😊 💗
Blessings to you and safe travels.
Loving and appreciative of all the scenes in TnT
Hi Tigress! I'm Peter Annius and I have been following you for the past two months!
Great job! Keep moving!
You must visit St.Lucia for the Jazz Festival!
See you there!
Nice that you asked that man to allow you finish eating your food, if not so, he would have distracted you from the 17 minutes you had left to board the water taxi
He just wants to use her for content and views to his own channel, what a character.
the different shades of color of the ocean surface is mostly based on depth. the darker mean is deeper. that's why the coast blue is lighter. most of the oceans are dark because the sunlight hardly go deeper than 656 feet , and no light penetrates deeper than 3,280 feet...the ocean is complete darkness.
Nice explanation.
T&T has lots of oil and gas welth to invest in those water taxis in time thme hope Jamaica can get them! But now its all about building the new highways so its only a matter of time that will come in time!! But they look awsome thow love T & T
Lovely, great way to travel on the island
Thank you for showing us your trip on the water taxi, most of us don't use it because we live in another location, I travelled on it once it was refreshing to see a part of Trinidad not commonly seen. I appreciate your content very much
Thank you for taking us along miss Tigress❤
Oh my you did not get the chance to go to the top of San Fernando hill. It is very nice at nights. You should have a phone protector and jacket so the phone is protected from breakage if it falls.
I will visit SANDO before I leave
Your documentation of T&T has been amazing❤️🥺! I love that you are truly experiencing and enjoying your journey throughout the island.
You need to try Trinidad 'Doubles'! You were standing right near to Sauce Doubles there in Curepe.
She had doubles already. She has been looking for pelau since she went to Trinidad. What happen! Are people not cooking pelau anymore. Is it becaus of laziness to the highest?
@islandgirl3330 laziness to not make pelau??. It's the easiest thing to make and one of the first things to sell out. She's just not going in the right places. She was in trincity mall, the food court on the northern wing always has Pelau, but it looks like she didn't venture to that side of the mall..
@@islandgirl3330 when you do not live in a country be careful of what you say. The answer is simply it sells out first. Why are you people so negative
Beautiful view
The highest peak is el Cerro del Aripo. Located in the northern range.it’s not that little mountain
That is correct. I climbed it. It's called "Flag Hill" by the people living in Aripo. It is 3084ft which is a lot shorter than Blue Mountain peak in Jamaica at 7402ft but it was nice. When I reached the top it just felt like it should have been higher.
Im so glad you got your device and the clarity is great.
Thanks for sharing The country look very nice ❤ enjoy your stay be safe.👑💃🏽🙏🏼
Nice water taxi ride and beautiful scenery 😊 lynn
I really enjoyed the video! Enjoy your new phone!❤
Beautiful ship ,how I wish such ships could be used to bring them back to Africa the land of their ancestors
Back to Africa so you can sell us to the Chinese this time? Nah, we good in the land of steel band 🇹🇹👍🏾💯
❤️🤗Thank you, A.T. 🇹🇹❤️
I think the different colours of the ocean is the depth and also distance and the reflection of the sun.
Love your content
AT, I have-not watched in a while...Had to com on and give you a like....Your vlogs are always encouraging to watch. I am surprised you have not visited Tobago, at least a day trip (forgive me if I am wrong). I am not from Trinidad, but I enjoy Tobago a lot. Continue to enjoy the Caribbean.
She is going after carnival. That is when visitors go.
The amount of free advertisement you gave this guy for his channel, you would think he would offer to cook a pot of palau or organize it somehow 🤔
😂😂😂
Yes the Pelau must be cooked, it's about time lol.
@@BlackHeartMan_NoSoul fo' real fo' real.
I agree. If I was still living in Trinidad, I would have cooked some for her, a long time ago. I am even considering asking a friend in Arima to do it for me.
Great content enjoy
Nice touch with the pic of the water taxis on the video thumbnail, you should do the same with the Tobago ferries for your Tobago video..plenty good stock photos of them available . You'll get the audience of boat/ferry enthusiasts also, and there are plenty of them out there all over the world.

Thank you Princess for showing me the beauty of my island. I live overseas now and you have given me a new appreciation of my island of Trinidad. I am from San Fernando
Thanks!
In some areas where the watercolor looks different may be due to the depth of the water and how far the sunlight penetrates, I think the seagrass beds is some areas also have something to do with it.
Look,s nice and clear
Tigress I really really like how you those get around you are very very down to earth yuh not screemish .😮😮😮
Wow, beautiful ❤❤❤❤
I really appreciated this detailed video. I have never seen the water ferry
Hopefully he has accurate information today lol
Loverly episode
Shame to say as a Trini you have unearthed some areas and stories that I wasn't aware of. Excellent content
@AFRI KAN TIGRESS. YOU was in my neighbourhood Nice. !!!
High Street is the British name for a town's main street
Trinidad really changed when someone can't find a plate of palau 😢in my day people was always shoving it in your face
I can't understand it.
Be quite if you don't live here, Pelau is everywhere everyday. Maybe she just went too late and it was all done. What so hard to understand about that.
It’s not hard to find… it’s just always selling out or the food place is bad lol.
Wow
African Tigress, you should try to squeeze in a trip to sister island Tobago. Have an enjoyable one. Stay safe. Respect and blessings.
It great Trini Tigress
Differing Shades of color in bodies of water are caused by depth and structures. The deepest water is darker when water is blue.
Did you use your mic or phone mic when you did the recording?
are you still going to tobago and if so when?? but if you ARE going to tobago pls go on the fastt ferry ull love it.. it has a.c , food court , bathrooms , you can go outside once it not to rough and it also have tv you can watch
you need to go back to San Fernando and go up San Fernando Hill it is beautiful
When I was a little boy i had a good time growing up in Trinidad i haven't been back for 20 years
Some parts are very deep Some are shallow and Some times is shadows the clouds
You need a more informed guide on you next visit please
That guy you met in the taxi going to C3 is weird lmao.
He is 🌈 I think..

After carnival
Your dinner look nice.
You got a very enthusiastic tour guide in the taxi 😂
He is doing too much.he is also very moist.
The little fish wanted to show her his statue of liberty😂😂😂
Wrt to the shades of the water, one of the reasons and in this case it's cloud shadows ..so its basically shaded spots in the water contrasting with brighter areas you're seeing ...
