Steelpan/steel drum invented in Trinidad and tobago by Afro-trinidadian, the only acoustic instrument invented in 20th century.
Never like that name steeldrum drums don't have musical notes on it knows the foreigners call it that rather the correct name steelpans

Oh thank you so much Ms. Tigress. I am a Caribbean born who have lived in Toronto, New York, and now Miami and I am feeling much regret that I have never visited Trinidad at Carnival although i have been there when I was younger. Many American cities with large West Indian populations do have carnival costume band parades so and so I assumed Trinidad's was just another parade of costumes but how wrong I was. I am really enjoying the steel bands. It took someone from Africa to showcase the essence of Trinidad Carnival to the world.
This particular event is one of the highlights of TnT Carnival. In fact many people enjoy this event more than they do the actual parade which is the big street parade/party on the Monday and Tuesday before Ash Wednesday.
Trinidad and Tobago carnival is the original carnival ,all the others in the Caribbean North America and Europe are spinoffs and only have some parts of what Trinidad and Tobago has.

All the Caribbean countries have Carnival but Trinidad and Tobago is considered mecca of all carnival Trinidad not be tourist destination Tobago is more like that but when it comes to carnival it's an insane vibes , east gate mall was not far from the mall you where at also Tobago have jazz festival ❤🇹🇹
I would say the mecca for the Caribbean; however, the absolute largest and originator is Brazil 🇧🇷 which also had the highest number of captive Africans shipped to the Americas during Atlantic Slave Trade.

@@tishtv3734Carnival did not originate in Trinidad , it originated in catholic latin countries . It is connected to the catholic traditions , it happens before lent and ends on ash wendsday .
Brazil was always a latin catholic country , so they always had carnival .
Carnival was braught to Trinidad by French settlers from the French Carribean islands .
All the oldest Carnivals takes place at the same time like Trinidad , Brazil , New Orleans , Guardalupe and Martinique etc .
All the other places started having carnivals long after these places . Trinidad's Carnival is about two hundred years old .

AT thanx so much for this vlog. I have seen steel bands perform in Florida but nothing like this display in Trinidad. To all your subs and viewers from Africa please tell us from the Caribbean if you knew of steel bands or have ever seen it before, as well as where you are from. Note that T&T found oil since 1816. However, in 1970, OPC countries decreased the production of oil, and the oil price went up . Hence, T& T gained from low output from OP countries . Note: T&T energy sector is older than USA.

I am a jamaican i love steel band,i use to listen to it as a young woman back in the days,they use to have steel bands a few in jamaica, but it's a Trinidad thing calypso and all ❤❤❤

Wow! The carnival is just something else out of this world. They all have the skill & it’s hard for some of us to know as to who the winners were. Oh, I like the display of fruits. I love coconut water. However, pineapples, mangoes & watermelons are some of my favourite because we grow them in Zambia. In fact, we have sweet ones. Good content & Thanks

Carribean ppl are truly blessed with all those fruits. We are not supposed to be sick with all these healing foods,but we have adopted the white mans way of eating,and this is how we get sick...avoid the Can and eat from the land my ppl...all those preservatives in those imported foods are killing us...Look at all those organic foods atcthat stall..am now residing in London after the Volcano took my property on Montserrat ,and i cant even eat like i normally does with all these genetically modified fruits/foods brought in from Spain mostly and as far as Israel ..av seen Mangoes selling in December..and Mangoes are not of that time of the year...these ppl are soley driven by greed in Europe',and i hates it...Good on you AT exploring the Carribean...i love it.

Lovely coverage of Trinidad 🇹🇹! My first memory of pan music 🎶 was Bahia Girl by David Rudder as a child in Barbados 🇧🇧. Very nice. I play it from time to time! In fact, while playing ▶️ it in my 🚗 in NYC, a fellow driver shouted, "Trini!!" to me lol. I said I am not Trini, buy I love the song. A Trini friend of mine told me the song 🎵 🎶 was actually banned on radio in Trinidad 🇹🇹 at one point because it was said to invoke spirits by the uber religious.
Bahia girl was never banned,in fact it won the road march 1986.

We mostly eat green bananas through Friday to Saturday,but on Sunday you might get one piece or a whole depending on who cooking
