- In a previous video I talked about charging for online guitar recording sessions. it occurred to me that what I said doesn't apply to everyone.

Here's my perspective from a client's point of view. I sent the same song to 3 guitarists. You (Jon), were the most expensive. But you (Jon), completely understood the mood and clearly appreciated I wrote that song for guitar as a non-guitarist. You didn't copy my demo, you did your own thing but you seemed to 'get' the song. You 'got' every song you worked on for me thereafter. That was worth more than any discount I could have got from the other 2 guitarists. They weren't bad guitarists by any stretch, they just didn't hear my song like I did and they didn't seem to take into account that the demo was not made by a guitarist. You not only heard the potential final song in a similar way to me, but you showed me the potential for any future track too.
If you had charged twice as much, I still would've used you (but half as much), and got less work done, but I wouldn't have gone anywhere else. The service is the key. If you understand the writer/artist and their end game, and have a quality product, you'll have a client for life.

Well this made my day to read, thank you Drew. I had no idea (or simply forgot if you told me) that you sent the same song to three guitarists and chose me. It has been so satisfying to work on your music and I can’t wait to hear more when the time comes! Thank you again.
