    Keenan & Ashley I loved this video, your interaction with one another "full exposure" especially had me laughing!
    Marriage is a wonderful thing if your willing to put in the time to spend togetherness, which I see you both enjoy these adventures together. I hope to see a video of the two of you at 70years old back in Alaska where you proposed to Ashley (Keenan)

    Just came across this one today. One of the best paddling and I thought it was the perfect mixture of silence and dialogue between you two. Thanks so much for putting this out there. It was awesome. I also like the minimal use of music. Music has its place for sure, but silence too is so kind of music, especially in these kind of settings that you guys go out to. Thanks again for a great video!

    Brings back memories. Traveled from Mackinaw City to The Benjamins. We got stuck at Eagle Island for three days from extreme high winds. We put two anchors down and tied the boat to a tree. What a blast! Now both retired and travel by water very little.

    We were in Jasper having left Quisnel BC around this time in August and the cloud cover was much welcomed it was a heat wave then it rained hard. Making stunning conditions to view the many stunning peaks along the way. We took the RMEngineer train. The sunsets were concentrated with high clouds above the peaks. the Caribou and The Canadian Rockies area is stunning, making for one beautiful photo after another. Had missed traveling our nearby neighbors to the north. Love your channel. Me and my son whose 13 also love your videos. 🤷🏼‍♀️

    Outstanding! Each new film is more cinematic than the last. I think the new aspect ratio works really well - beautifully balancing the broad tapestry of the landscape with the little rainy details that you have woven into the story, such as the water bottles and the blades of grass. I can't wait to see Woodland Caribou. In the meantime I'm experiencing a strong urge to re watch Dersu Uzala!

    Little advice. When the mrs is being a little naughty when talking about being fully exposed, trying to calm it down by saying "ok, enough, it’s sausage time", was probably not the best idea😂😂
    Absolutely fascinating about all those islands! What an awesome place that must be to go. I know pretty much nothing about Huron, but now I know a little more.
    Pretty sketchy at one point with those waves. I’ve been out in that a couple times, long ago, with much less skill than you guys, and it was pretty worrying.
    You haven’t popped up on my feed for quite a while. I’ll have to fix that.

    Always wanted to this: canoe from island to island getting lost in the reeds, eating wild rice….Though, I Imagined it further south in the Boundary Waters. I got my inspiration (this & flat-rafting down the Green River) from places like Gorp back when the internet was new & magainzes. Alas, a rotator cuff injury & chronic tendonitis denied me. I still have 2 brand new canoes in my garage.

    I have slight/moderate hearing impairment (my ex wife said I had a listening impairment but what did she know 😆) and I really had trouble understanding what you were saying for the first 7-8 minutes even with the volume up loud enough for my neighbors to enjoy the video.

    I enjoyed the edit. Fantastic video. I watched one of Xanders videos about this place and I was amazed that such a place existed, and I never heard of it. But I suppose that is why I started doing this. I have added this place to the list of places I want to visit as soon as possible. A must see. Would you be able to offer any help with a map source for planning? I have searched for a solid few hours and have not come across a good one. I am located in the Northeast US

      Thanks very much. Glad you enjoyed the video. This place is just awesome. Can get a little bit busy on weekends mid summer but it’s one of our favourite places to paddle. I have sailed Lake Huron extensively. The figure I remember is 50,000 islands,, but with a 6+ foot draft (keel) there are another 50,000 islands just below the surface where you cannot see them. Navigation on the north shores of Georgian Bay can be a nightmare. It requires excellent GPS, map, and course setting skills. It is rather upsetting to be cruising along in 200 feet of water, looking over the side. and seeing rocks right there. Uh,, you are not quite where you thought you were. Also. Some of the toughest,, fastest changing wind conditions I have ever faced. One moment sailing gently on a beam reach,, and 5 seconds later knocked down and trying to let sheets fly and claw down sails. (With the 10 year old at the helm while you scramble and work the fore-deck at a 45 degree angle.)

    • @CanoeTheNorth
      @CanoeTheNorth  ปีที่แล้ว

      I can imagine it would be a difficult lake to sail on with all of the rocks just below the surface. Absolutely beautiful though.

    I finally found the video telling me what the world's 4th largest lake is. As between talking and music, silence is good. Not a fan of the vocal music. Used in Yukon videos a couple times. It is annoying here to me... too loud..... whole different mood. Hey, you asked. I really liked the video but much prefer the longer ones.
