Im half way through this episode, and man... I gotta say, this is the essence of your channel. Some of your takes are just breathtaking, makes me feel so good. Thank u man, I m really happy that u can live ur life like that. Cheers
Thanks! Your channel is one of two in which I fully appreciate. Your time and effort, creativity, knowledge and love of nature shines through in your videos.
It's taken me a while to figure out what I love about Xander's videos (apart from the beautiful scenery and daft banter! ), but I realised that in pretty much every video he's made, he uses the same gear! That same blue mug, the same cook pot, the same square plate and same spoon. So many outdoors youtube channels are people who seem to just consume gear for the sake of it every other week, and try to get you to buy it. But Xander just seems to use what he has because it works, and instead focuses on bringing us new experiences, rather than new possessions. Respect, dude.
I used to do this long before the TH-cam days. Now I have 2 disabled children that I care for. I live in the interlake in Manitoba and yearn to return to the lakes and islands. One day. And at least I can live for now through your great channel.
I’m from the Philippines. We have a very different climate from where you are from. And either climate is special in their own unique ways. But man, Canada really is a hiker/canoers’ heaven. Much love and respect. Been a silent fan since the beginning.
Xander! By the time you were commenting on the clean water i was in tears my father used to takes my sister and I there for vacations. That was 58 years ago! I have so many wonderful memories of those days in that glorious place.I’m going to email this video to my sister, we both really need this visual medicine right now, thanks mate!
Kudos for going the extra mile and filming your paddling away, the breathtaking drone shots, the eye for all the little details and of course the dragon fly sequence. And as always: editing and soundtrack are top-notch. Keep it going man, you got a loyal fan here.
Xander, totally appreciate the fact you took the time to watch the dragonfly go into metamorphs, and the mongoose, those islands are absolutely gorgeous! there's so little coverage of the fires, hard to know how ( other than smokey air) how people are making it through with the fires back east? Thanks for the video!
Just wanted to say thanks, Xander. As someone who's been through similar struggles in life as you have, watching you get out there and see nature in all it's beauty has inspired me to get out there and do more adventuring myself. I've already been out hiking and camping more this year than I have in all previous years combined with many more trips to go this year. You're one of my favorite channels to watch, and I hope you keep up the great content!
I'm glad you went back to read your journal entry from January. I find this location completely enchanting--the islands, the calm water, the solitude, all of it. Amazing! Thank you Xander. p.s. Fart Island was named after the famous explorer John Q. Fart.
Dear Xander, I am so proud that you are overcoming your personal struggles. It makes me glad that you are succeeding because otherwise I would not have the opportunity to see such amazing places that you visit during your travels. Love seeing your videos. Keep staying strong. 👑❤👑
Xander don’t ever stop making these videos I love watching them and just helps me get away from everything going on feels like I’m there with you keep it up Xander ❤
Wow, what a gorgeous lake. And, beautiful Max music. Keeping a journal is such good practice. going back and reading what you previously wrote can show personal growth, or perhaps how life has transformed. This area truly touches the soul and portrays peace and serenity. You are indeed so fortunate to be in a location close to such beauty. The smoke has continued on and off, here in New England. May you and the people of Canada be safe. Thank you for taking us on this wonderful adventure. Looking forward to more. Blessings
It's the start of the new year in my country! Just three hours ago, the year began, and my first TH-cam video of the year is this. What a fantastic way to kick off the year!
I grew up on these islands. We owned one of them. My dad gave me a canoe when I was 11 and I went every where. Me and my little red canoe. the waters are beautiful and very dangerous. This video made me homesick, I live in Maryland now. Great stuff , Great video .
Thanks for this. My son and I love camping, so I showed him this video. He's 6yrs old. Now he's already making plans to go canoeing on Georgian Bay next year! Great channel, love the outdoor exploration...as well as showing the important benefits of journaling and meditation.
When I enter a new month in my journal, I go back to read that month last year. It's been enlightening. Love your videos. Thanks for taking me with you.
Thank you for giving us the opportunity to enjoy this gorgeous nature in the comforts of our homes. You take us all to places we can’t be even in our dreams. And as always, we enjoyed this trip as much as you did. Thank you, Xander🙏
14:22. You getting a shot of the damsel fly is the most...mindful and present thing I've seen in a video like this. It's nice having the opportunity to witness transformation, because then it reminds you of yours.
Maybe Xander's best video to date. Sucks to be not completely feeling the motivation... I can imagine it gets stale when you do this year round. But this is really a beautiful piece of filming and editing. So thanks for this! Side note, minks are such cool animals. So much personality and no fear.
I started watching this whilst having my dinner and I turned it off within the first 2 quarters of a minute so I could watch it after without any distractions. That scenery is epic and looks so fun to paddle round!
Xander, the quote, "He who does not look back to where he came from will not know where he is going," implies that someone who is cut off from their past may find it difficult to find meaning or purpose in life. Not sure why that quote jumped out at me, but it seemed to fit! Love your videos man, and thank you for putting yourself out there and making them!
You can tell that your going through something. Going into the woods was probably really good for you without you even realizing it at the time. Do you ever go out like this without filming it and just exist? With the quality of your videos I bet it’s a shit ton of work. Love your stuff man. Thank you!
Amazing Xander! You’re videography keeps getting better. Keep it up. Thanks for not bailing on this trip. You would have missed all that amazing scenery.
Man - listening to your bit about the journal and wanting to go back... can't thank you enough for sticking it through. Was an amazing watch as always sir and truly the goat of my TH-cam feed
The glacial granite is by far the coolest I've seen. Assuming north to south track, you can imagine the ice grinding it's way south so awesome. Thanks Xander
One of the most stunning of all videos which captured the atmosphere and beauty of the area. Your sense of humour and your natural reaction to events as they occur is priceless. Thanks for all the effort that you put into these superb videos. Keep 'em coming mate!
Thanks for bringing peace and lots of smiles to our crazy world! I learned a long time ago that you look back into your past so you don't repeat the mistakes (and regrets) in your future. Much love to you and your family. Stay well and stay safe Bud!
Xander your videos are amazing brother, the nature, the background music everything feels so good, being alone and away from the hustle and bustle of the world is one of the best feelings in life, nature is so relaxed and peaceful, keep exploring mate 👍🏻 🙂
XANDER GOT A NEW HAT! That's a mighty fine looking hat, sir. 🤠 Thank you, as always, for sharing your amazing adventures (and new hats) with us. MAN, LOOKIT THAT HAT! JUST LOOK AT IT!
Loved the laid back feeling of this video…..your cinematography was excellent and the islands breathtaking. The water so pristine…..loved it Xander, just loved this one! 😊
Incredibly beautiful scenery. Like another planet. So glad that I came accross your channel and am able to see the breathtaking nature of your adventures. Your filming and drone footage is an artform like nothing I have ever seen. Thank you so much!!😊
Xander, I've eaten up all your content the past few weeks and this one is the most visceral. It may be partly due to my own maternal connection with this place, but it has a lot more to do with the mood this place evokes that you've so masterfully captured. There's a special comfort here that is at once disquieting and unhurried, in the thin, tense spaces between islands, where there's a lurking menace of fires or the bite of wind and winter. Well done.
Beautiful trip Xander! It didn't seem too buggy this time of year. Love the new canoe. Thank you for taking us along. It's absolutely beautiful in Canada.
I cannot express my gratitude enough for how much you brighten the end of my tough day. I wish I could leave my corporate life and live a life like this. However, your content brings me a bit closer to that wish. Sending much love ❤️
this one for some reason reminds me a lot of Apetor's trips to island videos in a very good way, I miss him and and I thank you that you were able to bring back those good memories of him to me through this video, glad you decided to come out to this beautiful place, cheers!
Amazing, well done. I'm taking my youngest son camping just me and him for the first time tomorrow. The [ast two years, been getting back to camping after 20 years on the sidelines thanks to this channel
Really love your stuff, Xander! Great filming, great music and great "tom foolery"..keeps my wife and I laughing. Thanks a bunch! We'll be continuing our watching of your adventures.
Thank you, thank you, thank you. Again and again, Xander. I've seen all of your videos, some more than once, they are unique, beautiful and poignant, thank you.
Xander mad respect to you for all the time you put in for videos. I can not get out until natural due my health and thank you for making possible to enjoy my favorite pass time again thru your videos. ❤
Thoroughly enjoy your adventures. This one seems destined to be one of my favorites. Many years ago, I went on a fishing expedition with my family. I was told we were going to camp for a week on 'Bear Island'. I remember thinking to myself, "Why would we want camp on an island named for bears". Turned out it was actually 'Bare' island cause there was nothing on it. Here's to your continued enjoyment of this mostly beautiful world.
Can never quite get over how much you are living the dream, spending your days paddling and camping in glorious wilderness. If we had diverse wilderness with forests here in Scotland I’d be doing the same. Love your videos.
I’m going through some big mental changes to improve my life and my relationship, and sometimes it can be really overwhelming and stressful. The overthinking, no matter how good I get at controlling it, sometimes overcomes my logical thoughts. But your videos have always managed to calm me down and help me get my grip back. Absolutely beautiful as always, keep creating.
Thank you so much for your videos I really enjoy being out in the water but as I'm older now and a lack of money I don't have availability to be out there much if ever this video was so calming and peaceful good morning to fall asleep to with happy dreams
Oh yes another Xander journey. I truly think this was my favourite place, absolutely beautiful. So wish the UK wasn't so fecking far away. Take care, stay safe.
That last river looked like the rocks split apart a long time ago. I can't imagine how long it took to smooth off all that granite. Dragonflies are ancient and everywhere. You were kind to them as I knew you would be, the mink as well. I always like to think that you are with someone on these trips, and you do say "we". I can hope anyway. I couldn't see most of this land without you, so thank you. Great video. Pax.
A childhood friend's grandparents purchased a 2-acre island in McGregor Bay not so far from this in the 1920s. Spectacular area. I visited the spookily cobalt blue Lake Nelly from there, which you visited once, too, Xander. Georgian Bay region is spectacular.
Beautiful video. Got to see Lake Superior with your bro Jontario and Erin, this week and now this - what a treat. Two best lakes in the world. Jealous in Michigan as you have the better shorelines!
Im half way through this episode, and man... I gotta say, this is the essence of your channel. Some of your takes are just breathtaking, makes me feel so good. Thank u man, I m really happy that u can live ur life like that. Cheers
Agreed, willing to bet you also enjoy the vids with a nice smoke 😂

Is it just me or does he look stoned at around 5:52
He could be morning tired but It really looks like he enjoyed a wake and bake
@@ironlionzion779 Weed is for losers, Xander is a winner. So no, he doesn't smoke.
It's the weed
Thanks! Your channel is one of two in which I fully appreciate. Your time and effort, creativity, knowledge and love of nature shines through in your videos.
who is the other channel?
Try field days
field days, AUSSIE
Try lost lakes
@@-user404 thank you !! their content is the vibe I prefer. 😀
