      I have a question for you! I’m considering getting a full frame camera as I’m going to be filming real estate videography and photography, and many houses are dark so I do need to upgrade from MFT. I can get the sigma fp on ebay for about $1000, do you think that would be a solid choice for real estate? Thanks so much!

      @@artificial_commenter do you rely on autofocus and do you want to shoot RAW video for the real estate shoots?

    • @artificial_commenter

      @@Ansonandco I don't rely on AF nor do I want to shoot RAW. All I need is full frame, 1080p 60fps, photography capability, maybe IBIS but I do plan on getting a gimbal. I'm trying to stay at a decent budget, and I heard the Sigma fp is very easy to use unlike Sony menus. Thanks for your help!

    • @Butternose
      @Butternose ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@artificial_commenter I think you would do well to consider an S5, the compressed video codecs are far superior to the FP compressed offering. Also you might want to look at flash integration for Photo, the FP has a few quirks in that area. The s5 will do 4k 60fps in crop, but the FP is 1080 only at higher frame rates. Also the FP has no Ibis so fast paced handheld pickup shots will be considerably more challenging. What lenses are you considering?

    • @Butternose
      @Butternose ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@artificial_commenter … Also the scaling to 1080 on the FP is not well done, seems to stem from the lack of processing power and in the body. Have a search for 1080 footage on the tube and let your eyes decide, you know your own clients, real estate often isn’t a overly high bar. I have both bodies btw hopefully speaks to my biases, or lack of…

    The fact that there is no noise reduction at all on sigma is mind blow. It also beats sony a7 iii with their state of the art noise reduction system. Im just more happy that I bought sigma fp

    • @Ansonandco
      @Ansonandco  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Honestly I need to make an update, I debated not giving a conclusive statement and just let people discuss the results. And I probably should have cause after further review the FP holds onto SO much more information in higher ISOs than the s5, now would you lose some of it with NR in post? Maybe. But maybe not as much as the s5. So yes FP is still a beast!

      I tested my sigma today in low light with 7artisan 50mm t1.05 half open.
      At 12800 iso noise disappeared, but 10000 vas very noisy. I recorded 12 bit raw and mov gop with color set to off. Need to check files to see if that was noise reduction on mov files or dual iso thing 😆

    I think the quick comparison video format is great. I think more side by side comparison vs switching back and forth can be easier to compare. I do think adding a quick chart showing price and spec of the cameras would also be nice also sharing what lens you are are using for the test. Keep up the great content.

      I just told someone else in the comments, I debated not making a convulsive statement about the results, and letting people just comment what they thought. And I wish I had cause after further review the FP definitely does a better job in low light. I was looking for a ton of noise and while the FP had more noise, it also has a ton more detail and information than the s5.

    Impossible to see as the YT compressions is so bad here. Getting big squares flickering around. But for me the fp seems to have better details when looking at the skull. Would have been easier without the flickering/flaring.

    • @Ansonandco
      @Ansonandco  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah I uploaded in 4k, it is way easier to see the detail on a larger screen in 4k. The noise is mostly in the eyes of the skull

    • @innstikk
      @innstikk ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Ansonandco Only have a laptop with HD with me at the moment 🙂 But I guess the S5 also has some NR or if you used lossy BRAW vs CDNG, I would expect it too. Loss of details at high ISOs (in my eyes) on the S5 could indicate more NR. Don't know as I don't thinkn you mentioned how it was recorded. At any rate both are very capable. For stills then my experience is that my fp has an edge on my s5. I only use the s5 for stills where I need mechanical shutter or IBIS, so have not tested filming with it too much. Nice video by the way, forgot to say that in my first reply

    • @Ansonandco
      @Ansonandco  ปีที่แล้ว

      Internal 10bit 422 on the s5. But I didn’t even think of the loss of contrast or sharpness at higher ISOs. So definitely a good call. The FP with some noise reduction would probably come out better overall. But definitely both are very capable! Thanks for the love ✌🏻

    Sorry to point this out, the amount of banding you have (in all viewing resolutions by the way ... and in all different browsers i have checked this with) ... on the skull footage, on both cameras, is simply insane. (And no its not the terrible youtube compression but some kind of coloring process and or output mastering error.) 4K cDNG 12 bit footage correctly processed does not look like this, not in facebook not in youtube (to name the worse platforms in terms of quality). I have no idea what happened there, as the sources of banding can be multiple. But my 2 cent feedback is, you do not do justice to any of the two cameras with this. In fact while looking for the first time I was severely distracted by the banding, so that practically the low light noise was irrelevant. Sorry to be blunt ... I know we live in the b/w times of "like, like, like" or "cancel"... I do like your videos and in fact it was your channel along with one other that made me buy the sigma FP some time ago. Have a nice day.

    • @Ansonandco
      @Ansonandco  ปีที่แล้ว

      No worries at all. I didn’t notice a ton of banding in the raw footage but I’ll double check and maybe put a side by side still on my community page. Thanks for the heads up!

    • @Ansonandco
      @Ansonandco  ปีที่แล้ว

      So I looked at the original rendered file of the video, I noticed banding in the first shot of the FP but none in either after that. You’re saying you see it in all the shots?

    • @lyssistrate1081
      @lyssistrate1081 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Ansonandco Hi, thanks for the reply. I am talking strictly about the candle-light-skull footage comparison only. The young mans portrait - night shots - have "no" banding, if at all, some rectangular artifacts in the shadows (but do not know which camera ... I guess though it will be the Panasonic 4:2:2 with the rectangular artifacts.. but just guessing on this one). The skull footage has in all monitors that I checked it with, including a reference one, heavy, heavy, heavy, "flashing" banding. It looks like 2 bit footage on steroids ... :-) ... I have seen nothing like this in all your videos. So i guess something weird happened with that skull image sequence ... Normally I do not write in YTube but it is so horrible that I thought you might want to know ... (I even thought omg ... what is wrong with my monitors for a sec...) By the way no big deal about all of this just saying ... Keep up the good work and have a nice weekend.
