    Just discovered your channel yesterday as I’m currently looking for a good beginner camera for vlogging, makeup product videos, and some photography! Watched your videos on the Sony ZV-E10, ZV-1 and ZV-1F and I was amazed at how thorough and well-made your videos are🤩 The comparisons are on point and I learn so much especially as a complete beginner😂 Every time you introduce another camera I get more indecisive, but I’m pretty sure I will be getting the E10 today😊
    I was intending to get the ZV-1 as it seems like a popular vlogging camera but I find the ability to change lenses and the better battery life on the E10 make it more attractive. I intend to purchase the Sony Bluetooth shooting grip together too! But also, the more videos I watch the more the rolling shutter worries me…is there a way to minimise the rolling shutter somehow?😢
    Keep up the great content, happy new year! 🎉

    Great video! I have a sigma fp, Sony a7r5 and just picked up a Fuji xh-2. I mostly use the Sony for photo, but I did test 8k 10bit. It looks good, but didn’t blow me away. It looks very clean in low light and high ISO’s. I also did some 8k 10bit tests with the Fuji and it looks really good, as well, but definitely has a lot more noise then the Sony in low light. Also, the rolling shutter was a big problem for handheld shots, and I am considering sending it back and getting the faster xh-2s version. I have to say though, I’m spoiled with the 12bit raw from the sigma. It just looks amazing and color grades so well! Sure to get 4k 12bit you have to hook up a ssd, but even with a Samsung T5 attached it’s still smaller and lighter than the Fuji and Sony. Also, I know autofocus isn’t as good and there isn’t 4k 60, but I still think I’ll keep using it as my main cinema rig.

    • @thefilmalliance
      @thefilmalliance  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Wow you are very knowledgeable in all of the stuff. I know what you’re saying about the Sigma I have to get it back shoot in raw and then you slim raw. I also want to try out the XH2S open gate. I think that Fuji cameras are better at matching colors between clips with its internal color science. For some reason Sony ccolors go all crazy and different exposure conditions. Does that make sense? Or am I crazy?

    • @edwardrobison3684
      @edwardrobison3684 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don’t know about super knowledgeable ;), but I do have quite a number of years of professional experience…. I got in my xh2s a couple of days ago and did a handful of side by sides with the sigma fp at sunset and later in lower light. Also shot the a7r5 next to them but screwed up the settings and botched that footage. Turns out managing 3 cameras at once with fading light proved to be too much for me alone! The Fuji in flog2 matched up pretty dang close to the sigma even in low light. Tested up to 12800, and that’s where the full frame sigma was noticeably ahead of the Fuji in terms of IQ and grain. (Not that I ever really shoot at that iso) Overall at native ISO’s the Fuji definitely has a wider dynamic range, but the 10bit vs 12bit definitely shows with heavy grading like putting a strong gradient on the sky while trying to retain shadow detail in the tree tops. (Also started to pick up mild banding in the sky of the 10bit Fuji when the sigma was smooth as butter).
      As for Sony, I don’t mind their colors, but it’s definitely a bit different palette then the sigma and quite a bit different than the Fuji….

    No FF upgrade path with Fuji APS-C ILCs… it’s essentially a closed system that only adapts down to Nikon Z. Pass. Unfortunately. Now I could consider X100V as a fixed lens EDC option but they are OOS everywhere so no go on that front. The Ricoh GRIII and GRIIIX now fill that role and I can carry them in coat pockets.

    "The Sony A7III was my first REAL camera"
    It's sad how youtubers are making people believe that Full Frame cameras are better than APS-C or other formats when is not like that at all.
    Everytime they compare APS-C with FF they say things like upgrade/improve to FF, FF is better.
    It's not better, it's just a different format that could be better for some situations and types of photography/videos but also worse for other situations. It's more expensive cos is true that the camera body usually has better construction, weather sealed, bigger grip, 2 slots, more buttons, more dials, etc. Things that APS-C cameras usually don't have. But the image quality itself is not better.
    TH-camrs should take more responsibility as they influence people and a most of beginners watch videos like this one and actually believe that if they buy an APS-C camera they are buying something that is worse, which is not true.
    I'm not saying that The Film Alliance is doing this on purpose btw
