    I wanted to tell you how I thought I broke my favorite Craftsman 43772 ratchet. I hit the button to release to remove a short extension and suddenly the entire pawl assembly popped out. I couldn't figure out how to put it back in. I almost threw the ratchet away in disgust, but something made me hang onto it. That was almost two months ago. I've been using my cheap ratchet instead.
    Then I came across your video. Popped it right back in! I got my favorite ratchet back!
    Like almost everything in my life, I was overthinking it. Got a lot of gratitude for you and this video! Thanks!
    Edited to let you know, I also know a lot more about how it works. So thanks again!

    Got this, 1/4 and 1/2. Also has the sockets (imperial and metric) and metal boxes that fit with them. In excellent condition ans still the rachet I use but I'm a light weekend user.

      @@snapringchronicles3020 Got them since so long I don't remember if it was sold as a kit or not. I suspect yes because of the metal casings that were definatly sold with the rachet, sockets or kit.

    I always enjoy your videos. They are very informative. I have some of my Dad's Craftsman ratchets. They're from the 70's and 80's. They are all stamped "made in U.S.A" . Some even have the patent number (s) stamped In the tool as well.

  • @rawbacon

    Look on Google Images, there's one still in the package and it says "MADE IN U.S.A."..............A little digging around seems to indicate it was made by Stanley.

      Hey many thanks for that info, I saw the pictures👍...Maybe some of the parts were USA and they went with “Made In USA “? I heard Stanley was getting in trouble back then marking stuff as USA when to call it USA would be a stretch 🤔

      @@snapringchronicles3020 I think I'm always somewhat suspicious when they don't stamp it right in the metal.

    I have a set of 43772 models as my everyday use one. I guess I bought the sockets and ratchets in early 1980's...

    I have the same model in 1/4 drive. with a matching breaker bar.

    i think this one might be usa made... the EE stamp was on sockets made in usa...

    • @TylerSnyder305
      @TylerSnyder305 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This ratchet is Taiwanese though, sourced by Stanley based on the the EE oem code.
      If a Craftsman tool is American made it will say USA on it.

  • @TylerSnyder305
    @TylerSnyder305 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    EE= Stanley ( mostly but not always made in Taiwan, these definitely are though )
    I have been interested in seeing what they're all about, but since they're Stanley sourced Taiwanese ratchets I'm not going to buy one.

      Interesting because Raw Bacon pointed out a photo online of one in the original packaging and the packaging says “Made In USA”?

    • @TylerSnyder305
      @TylerSnyder305 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@snapringchronicles3020
      That may be for the sockets and accessories, because the common tri wing ratchets came in sets with American made sockets just like the NOS master mechanic set I got.
      The packaging will say Made in USA with clarification on the back about the ratchets.
      The sockets bits wrenches and extensions are all made here but the tri wing ratchets weren't and I gave the ratchets away.

    I just got one of these but it's a 3/8. Nice looking tool only it has a lot of play in it, after you wind it you have to turn it about 5 degrees before any torque is applied. Is this the same with yours?

    • @snapringchronicles3020
      @snapringchronicles3020  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes I think I know what you are saying. It’s like when you are ratcheting and you got to tighten or loosen there is some take up before there is a solid engagement. Yup this one too
