    The matt issue - 2 ideas -
velcro strip - one section to the reverse of the matt, and one section on
    the car carpet
-- OR - adding some material to the hole in the matt which the stud situates in -
    - a suitable silicon maybe? Trial and error likely necessary

Yeah could try that tbh. But I'm selling it anyways so fixing only the necessary at the moment.

@@nagarage13 What are you going for next?
I like the look of the Peugeot 'TT' (the RCZ), IIRC some of the petrol engines are chain, which is a +, but I wonder about wider build quality/design....

My biggest negative with a lot of the European engines in recent decades - the
    switch to cam belts.
The durability, and common lack of servicing needed with chains makes this
    move ridiculous.
Of course, some of the cam chain designs on the Mini have proved to be
very problematic, notably in relation to their VVT, but that's down to this
crappy design, rather than a flaw with cam chains generally.
IIRC some of the TTs are chain - which are the only ones I would buy.

I actually prefer keeping an eye on how old the belt is than trusting entirely in a chain and wondering when the guide will break 😅

@@dh1380 I've never had a very modern car, so I don't know about the newer stuff, but I've never had a guide or chain break on any engine - and most of them had more than 100,000 miles+ on the 'clock'

l think squeaking brakes can be caused by stuck callipers. After a drive is one or more of the wheels excessively hot if it is it can fuck up your bearings and apparently even the wheel.
