    Usual great video from you yet again David. I’ve done the follower and the purge valve thanks to your previous ones. Hardest thing was trying to get the plugs seperated and those damn clips which I broke two of.
    Cheers again,
    Grant

      Thanks! Yeah, those clips are a proper pain!

    Very good and informative video, spot on 👍
    I could also add that there is an emergency release handle that you can pull from inside the boot to open it in case the car battery is dead.

    I would also add that the thermostat will fail at some point, so check that the engine reaches amd stays at 90c.

      Yep this just happened to mine. It's not too bad but has started dipping between 90 and about 75

      That's a good point, I forgot to include that. I have done a video on replacing the thermostat on my engine (BWA) which is on the channel👍🏻

      @@chrisqueen9499 that's A LOT. I could get the cam belt and water pump done at the same time for that money.

    I was given the roadster and VCDS says driver door module was faulty but windows all work, auto dimming mirror power cycles and rarely works. Said the rear speakers and short to ground.. although plays fine. But was given it with R8 coils, the high pressure fuel pump fixed and a proper forced induction kit with a dump valve that sounds like a bus 😂.. either way though, it’s quite nice for a free car. Only downside is that the guy put 20” wheels on and it rubs on the rear arches.

    Hi I've got an audi TT and one of the big problems I'm having is the car is hunting. I took it to a garage they fitted new spark plugs (old ones apparently were corroded) that hasn't fixed the hunting. They reckon its most likely an air or fuel fuelt or possibly a vaccum leak. I've had the car for 4 years it had 70k miles when I bought it now its 115k miles on it. I'm not entirely sure this is the problem or not do you know if this is probably the reason it is hunting? The garage I went to was an audi garage and they are charging me a lot to get that sorted as well as other problems they say the car has like the front brake pads that I bought for the audi TT I fitted on are the wrong ones even though they are the same size as the original ones. The brakes seem to work just fine I'm not seeing any problems with its braking even though the garage has said about the brake pads being the wrong ones as well as the calipers seizing, discs overheating. Its got an MOT coming up in October I'm not sure if its going to pass with these problems about the car.

      The hunting could be a multitude of things.
      Maybe replace your temperature sensor, as I’ve had it on a VW Lupo engine before where it was hunting due to a bad temp sensor because it didn’t know how warm the engine was, so the fuelling was wrong!
      I’d check/clean the MAP and MAF sensors, do a vacuum test to check for Vacuum leaks, check you haven’t got any exhaust leaks (this could give the lambdas dodgy readings), check the fuel filter isn’t blocked/change it, check the air filter isn’t blocked/change it, check there’s no leaks on the intake, I’d put some injector clean in incase the injectors are blocked (I recommend a TerraClean as this cleans the injectors and helps to remove carbon deposits which these direct injection engines suffer with) and try and get a spark tester on it to make sure all of your coil packs are working as they should. I’d also have a look at changing the PCV valve if you haven’t already as that can cause issues on these engines.
      As for the brakes, I can’t really do much there. Worst case, I’d try and get a set from euro car parts with the your Reg number and go from there.
      I think that’s everything and hopefully it points you in the right direction, sorry I can’t be of more help. Let me know how you get on!
      If anyone has anything to add, by all means get involved!

  • @dh1380
    @dh1380 29 วันที่ผ่านมา

    That's most of them.
    You forgot PCV valve failure, door locks and window regulators though. ;) the o rings on the PCV valves are trash and when they fail it causes rough idling and lumpy running. See it all the time. I would put PCV valve on the check list when buying: run the car and then remove the oil filler cap. If there is a noticable vaccuum holding the cap on, you need a new PCV valve because the seals are leaking. Luckily it sits on top of the engine and is dead easy to do.
    And you forgot the biggest of them all which they will ALL suffer from: intake carbon buildup.
    The coil pack issue is very common also.

    Please advise what can be the problem if the car is sometimes sluggish and sometimes goes well.

    • @day_dobbie
      @day_dobbie  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I’d say check all of your vacuum hoses to make sure there are no vacuum leaks. Also, maybe service the car if you haven’t already as you could be due new spark plugs. Maybe ad some injector cleaner too incase the injectors are blocked slightly. I’d also say, look into cleaning your MAF and MAP sensors as they can have an effect too.
