Beautiful song. Makes me cry. So when a song resonates then it has served it's purpose. This man sings it very well.

I remember his songs playing at the junior high dances. I can still listen to him and all the other artists from the 60’s.

On this day in 1965 {August 31st} the 'Dick Clark Summer Show' tour made a stop at the War Memorial in Syracuse, New York...
One of the acts* to appear at the concert was Ronnie Dove, at the time his "I'll Make All Your Dreams Come True" was at #58 on Billboard's Hot Top 100 chart, five weeks later it would peak at #21 {for 1 week} and it spent 9 weeks on the Top 100...
And on September 19th, 1965 it peaked at #2 {for 1 week} on Billboard's Easy Listening chart, and the week it was at #2, the #1 record for that week was "You Were On My Mind" by the We Five...
Between 1964 and 1969 he had twenty records on the Hot Top 100 chart; his two biggest hits both peaked at #14, "Right or Wrong" for 1 week on November 29th, 1964 and "One Kiss For Old Times' Sake" for 1 week on May 9th, 1965...
And between 1972 and 1987 he charted six times on Billboard's Hot Country Singles chart...
Mr. Dove will celebrate his 82nd birthday in one week on September 7th {2017}...
    * Other concert acts were Peter & Gordon, Tom Jones, Mel Carter, Brian Hyland, the Turtles, and Billy Joe Royal...

I never listened to him myself but I babysat for my sister and she had a album of Ronnie and I loved it. I can sing to all of his songs.

I have always loved Ronnie Done and all his songs. He was great. I love the all the emotions he puts in his songs. I still have an album of his and it cracked though the first song. I tried to replace it but could never find it. It was a turquoise back with his picture. Had all these songs best I can remember. It is packed away now.

Was it The Best Of Ronnie Dove? If so, that was the first LP I owned by Ronnie, the track list can be found below...
My best recommendation is to go to www.ronniedovemusic.com and order yourself a custom made CD, which Ronnie makes himself, and pair up both of his two Best Of albums (because Ronnie has a 20 track minimum order for his CD's), which would give you a track lineup of:
      1. Say You
      2. Right Or Wrong
      3. Hello Pretty Girl
      4. Keep It A Secret
      5. Where In The World
      6. One Kiss For Old Times' Sake
      7. A Little Bit Of Heaven
      8. Nevertheless (I'm In Love With You)
      9. If I Live To Be A Hundred
      10. Kiss Away
      11. I'll Make All Your Dreams Come True
      12. When Liking Turns To Loving
      13. Add Love
      14. Let's Start All Over Again
      15. Happy Summer Days
      16. That's My Desire
      17. I Want To Love You For What You Are
      18. Cry
      19. My Babe
      20. I Really Don't Want To Know
      21. One More Mountain To Climb
      22. Back From Baltimore
      23. You Made Me Love You (I Didn't Want To Do It)
      24. The Wedding Song
The cost would be $30 for the custom CD, as it's $25 for a 20 song cd plus $1.25 for each additional song. If you don't like some of these songs, you can check out many of the songs on my youtube channel and see if they are available for purchase off Ronnie's website, and customize a CD for yourself, too. www.ronniedovemusic.com/order-form.html

I Find it extremely fascinating how Ronnie was able to have Top 40 hits with slow country ballads right in the middle of the British Invasion (well after the Beatles and all of the other British Bands invaded the Billboard Charts in 1964) he really stood out from his competition. that's probably the reason why he was able to have 11 Top 40 hits between the years 1964 and 1966. I'd love to know who's playing on his records. sounds like they were cut in Nashville so I would imagine some of the Nashville Usual Suspects are on his stuff (Kenny Buttery, Charlie McCoy, Henry Strzelecki, Nobert Putman, Fred Carter Jr, Hargus Pig Robbins, Wayne Moss, Jerry Kennedy, etc.) It would not surprise if most if not all of the members of the A team are on his records. they probably cut most of his songs at Bradley's Barn or in Columbia Studios in Nashvile.

Some of the early hits were cut at RCA's Studios A and B, other hits cut at Fred Foster Sound Studios. Some of his later hits were recorded at United in Hollywood.

1965.....(I'll make all your dreams come true)
    Just give me the right
I'll start with my lips on yours
    While I'm holding you tight
(I'll make all your dreams come true)
    Just show me you're mine
I want no one else but you
    Til the end of time
Just you to laugh and cry with
    Through all of our years
Just you to love me til the
    Rest of the world disappears
Your dreams are as safe as mine
    So give me your heart
I'll make all your dreams come true
    And we'll never part
Just you to laugh and cry with
    Through all of our years
Just you to love me til the
    Rest of the world disappears
Your dreams are as safe as mine
    So give me your heart
I'll make all your dreams come true
    Til death do us part.....1965

+ELLEN RISING I bought my CD back in 94 I think it was. Had his picture just like on this one. May have been the same one as all of these songs are on it. Love it.

+Johnny R Longoria This CD was released in 2014. Some of the songs on this CD have not been released on CD prior to this album, so anything you bought in 1994 could not have included every song on this album, nor could they have included this cover photograph, which had never been used on any previous CD release. Also, all of the songs on this CD that have been on CD previously sound better here than they do on all previous CD releases. We searched worldwide for the best available sources for this release and improved the sound on many of the songs, including putting several on CD in stereo for the first time. If you don't have this CD, it is definitely one needed for your collection.

I did not say it was this one . I said that I bought mine back in '94 and that his picture looked just like this one and if you check your records of your albums you will find that the one I refer to is "The Best of Ronnie Dove" and it is the same picture of him with the same shirt and coat or sweater. Only he is looking up and on top of the CD there is a Stardust CD-1011 at bottom it says "All Original Hits"
On back it has 20 of his songs and all the songs that I stated were not the ones on your CD but my CD 1-20. My misunderstanding as well as yours. The album was made in Canada and many of the songs you have on your CD are also on my CD and that is what I was referring to when I said "all" of these songs ( I meant Little bit of Heaven, One Kiss for Old Times Sake, I'l'l Make All Your Dreams Come True) songs that I made comments on on YT.
Just about all 20 if not all 20 of the songs on my CD are on this new one of yours. Check it.

    • @Ronniedovemusic
      @Ronniedovemusic  8 ปีที่แล้ว

+Johnny R Longoria I read your comments correctly. The photo is from the same photo session (Ronnie told me they took about 200 photos of him during that photo shoot). I know of four photos from that session turning up. One is on that Stardust CD, which is also on one of his original Diamond LP's, one is on another Diamond LP, and two are on the Real Gone Music CD we did.
The Stardust CD has lots of mono recordings on it taken off of noisy 45's, and other songs were taken from other CD's. That CD also uses an alternate take of Kiss Away on it (which the correct hit take can be found on the Real Gone CD). 16 of the songs on the Stardust CD are 1960's recordings and four are 1980's recordings. The Real Gone Music CD contains only the original Diamond label recordings, all 21 of his charting hits for the label during the 1960's. We searched the world to find the best available sources and were able to present the best sounding CD of Ronnie's material as a result, with most of the songs in stereo, in their correct hit versions.
If you do not have the Real Gone CD, please order a copy and enjoy it, I promise you will not be disappointed.
      All my best,
      Tom (Ronnie Dove Music)
