  • What is mold? Molds are the fungi that are commonly found on food or wet materials, including the green Penicillium mold that produces penicillin, the fungi that spoil our food and crops, and the mold that recycles dead organic matter. In indoor environments, mold is most often associated with damp, musty locations such as bathrooms and basements. It is important to note that the fungi that grow on food do not grow on damp building materials and feed.
Who's affected, and what are the adverse health effects? Everyone in a home with a mold environment is affected! If there has been water damage, visible mold growth, or you smell moldy odors in your house, it is important to address the problem promptly before your family experiences serious allergic symptoms.
