    There are many of these devices on the market, with manufacturers offering larger and larger batteries. You can spend some serious money on this type of solution, but going off-grid and having power backup in your home gives people peace of mind, so they are selling like mad.
    This is a nicely sized battery. It's still small enough to be 'portable' but, at 1.5kWh of storage, has enough power to keep some high-power devices running during a blackout.
    I hope you enjoy my review. Let me know if you have any questions.

      Wh / $ is good with these cheaper devices but they clearly have shortcuts in build and functionality. I still use my AllPowers but it's really the battery that is topped up when I have spare solar power. It's used as a backup power unit rather than a daily driver.

    Had one of these in the caravan for a couple of years now and it's always done exactly what I needed it to do. As well as charging stuff, it is used to power an induction hob for cooking, also used (not at the same time) with the microwave, vacuum cleaner, power tools and so on. Granted i've not tried the competition but if it works, it works.

    • @tdcattech
      @tdcattech  ปีที่แล้ว

      Do you find the battery stops giving at about 30% but when it charges it continues charging at 99% for a long time? Calibration could use some work but it delivers power reliably.

    • @TicketyBoo.
      @TicketyBoo. ปีที่แล้ว

      @@tdcattech Sorry for the slow response. Never had that issue but mine is permanently attached to solar, it's only dropped that low one or twice. I think the slow charge at 99% is intentional, the charge rate for lithium drops as it reaches full to prolong battery life.

    Have a few of these bought, 2022. They perform! Use 2 in the motorhome for those devices that require AC, no issues, charged on the road using the 12v cable or solar roof panel. Or combination if leisure batt is full. At home they power my kids pc's saving around 2kw per day, also my tv at night saving 7 to 800w pet night. Sounds pathetic for 1 day but over winter, 180 days, its significant. Have had some issue with only getting to 99% and quick drop after a full charge, but AP have been helpful in resolution. My neighbour, brother and someone who bought some tyres off me bought these devices. Its a game changer for self build or factory built motorhomes, AC power, martini way! 'any time. Any place. Anywhere.'
    Enjoy
    I find if it struggles to reach 100% stop the charge off ac, plug in xt60 solar, it will immediatly kick to 100.

    Hi there I've just brought this allpower 1500wh , I have a jackery 500 , and 3 ecoflows river pro, mini, 1260 wh, so far you are right about the build quality not has good as the ecoflow, as for charging , I only use solar power it doesn't seem as straightforward as the jackery and the ecoflow , but I've discovered that I can use the mains on my lesser box's when there's no sun

    • @tdcattech
      @tdcattech  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have a few different types too. I do find the Ecoflow units top notch as far as build quality goes but the inverter on this seems solid (even if the UK sockets are not good). I mainly use it for mains appliances now. It has its quirks such as inaccurate percent remaining but these devices all do.

    • @chrislee1099
      @chrislee1099 ปีที่แล้ว

      @TDCatTech yes there some quirks, noticed that there isn't a thing telling how much time is left to charge just a percentage of charge , I suppose this is why its cheaper than the ecoflows , I've only had it a couple of days so finding out what it can and can't do ,looking forward to the summer to get out in my van

    • @tdcattech
      @tdcattech  ปีที่แล้ว

      Percentage of charge is usually fine for me. I'm charging from solar 90% of the time anyway so the light levels vary continuously and a time remaining just changes as it charges. Bloody UK weather! 🙂

  • @jhentsang9605
    @jhentsang9605 ปีที่แล้ว

    Rookie question, I'm based in the North West of the UK and recently bought the S2000 Pro model.
    I was looking into solar panel options and saw conflicting info on whether 12V or 24V panels are required.
    Does it matter whether the panels are 12V or 24V and would a set up of 400W be overkill if I'm not going to be draining the battery regularly? It's mainly for a shed workshop set up running some small ventilation fans, low level lighting constantly and occasionally some power tool usage, maybe once every few weeks if that. Thank you for any advice and info!

    • @somemore9784
      @somemore9784 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It doesn't matter. It can take a solar panel up to 70v.
      400w isnt overkill. Sometimes your going to want to charge on cloudier days and it's not gong to get anywhere close to 400w so a little oversizing can help with that.

    • @jhentsang9605

    • @tdcattech
      @tdcattech  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Totally agree with this. Your panels must remain under 70V but don't worry about anything else. Go over spec so you can get a usable charge on cloudy days.

    Hi there… I’m really not up on this stuff so any help would be great…. We’re buying a motorhome and would like to be off grid for 2-3 days at a time before going to a site to recharge etc… we don’t have any high tech batteries or inverters as yet or solar which is quite expensive to fit so considering one of these… btw monoman have them and they told me the charge recycle was 700-1000 don’t know where they got this from… anyway in an ideal world we’d like to use a microwave for about 5 mins a day (800w) and a toaster (we could use a gas grill) but essentially need to work from the van ok our laptops (both 45w I think) so you think this would do the job?

    • @tdcattech
      @tdcattech  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No, not by itself. This is rated at 1.5kWh which means that, factoring in converter inefficiencies, you'll get 1.3kWh max. Your microwave will use 0.2kWh across 3 days and if you add in your laptops across 3 x 8hr working days, you would be virtually over budget. Of course, if you can throw up a few solar panels, then you'd be in business 🙂

    • @simonfern3372
      @simonfern3372 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for that mate… it does look like a decent solution but I think I’m going to bite the bullet and go for lithium/inverter/b2b/solar set up now… this allpowers unit looks like good value compared to a lot out there thanks for the review 👍

    • @tdcattech
      @tdcattech  ปีที่แล้ว

      Depends what you want. This unit gives you much more Wh/$ at the current promotion pricing. It's currently £1,000 on Amazon in the UK which works out £0.66/Wh. The EcoFlow comes in at £0.90/Wh for the Mini at current promotion pricing. That said, EcoFlow units have a better app which may be important to you. They also have faster AC charging.

    Be aware of the inferior quality of Allpowers: We bought a previos S700 model not even 1.5 years ago and it just died completely this month. Allpowers doesn't care at all, so we had to bring a 400+ USD device to recycling right away. No we bought an Ecoflow, hope it's better quality.
