yeah you're right. Like I'm Indian and it's really not that bad here because there are women of different body types but I feel like in Southeast Asia it's just ONE accepted ideal body type and ideal face. The beauty standards are scary, it's like brainwashing people into making them believe they're unattractive. All these girls are so pretty tbh. 42 kilos as an ideal weight? that's just.. scary.

Such a shame, considering how beautiful those people really are. @@RealRyanGosling I have standards too but i don't think 42kg is a normal weight and i certainly don't think it's healthy to say things that sound so self loathing. Like if you are overweight or obese and diet and work out to lose weight yeah actually what's best for you but do you really think that having an adult woman who's height is like 1.63 think that an idea weight for her is 42kg is good? Having that kind of unrealistic ideals don't lead to healthy bodies they lead to eating disorders. I want to improve myself too but i think of what is best for my body and my mental health.

As a half Japanese girl in Japan i often get a lot of compliments or people just very curious about me, i also get scouted for modeling, i understand why people want to look different, no matter who you are its a classic example of the grass being more green somewhere else. No matter who you are we all have insecurities and times we aren't happy with ourselves. The best we can do is keep our bodies healthy. ❤️

I think whenever men or women from a particular country no longer find their own features attractive is when you know you have failed as a government and a country.
One of the girls in this video said she wants bigger eyes and to look more European. Not only does she have a lack of self respect but she's a bad influence to kids growing up in her own country.
all these is a legacy of European colonialism. tho Japan was never colonised the strength of the Western media still has an effect. you can't say a country has failed just based on this one fact. The failure is in the lack of awareness of where these beauty standards came from. In Japan, China and Korea, the Euro beauty standard is so endemic few people think to question them. It's just accepted as natural. It doesn't occur to most people that these standards are learned and has historical implications. I would like to see more pushback and a move by East Asians towards appreciating their own looks.

I don't think Japanese people want SE Asian look, from my experience SEA look are usually looked down upon by East Asians. Whether they're Chinese, Japanese, or Koreans. SEA also have flat noses and not the euro tall nose.
Jacky Chew I'm not talking about history or culture, but looks (although they both usually go hand in hand). Looking good is far more than just about how big your eyes are, East Asians in general don't think of looking SE Asian as a good thing.

I don't think 40kg is unrealistic. You have to keep in mind that East Asians are generally smaller than westerners. So our average weight is lower than the western average, thus our ideal weight will also be much lower than the western ideal. Like my Mother is 42kg now and her weight only went past 40kg after going through two pregnancies. I'm an adult and only weigh 35kg. And yes we eat a lot.

I'm 163-164cm and 43.5kg but my build is similar to an Asian's because I'm mixed with some Asian lol. ^^ it's true though. It's not really unrealistic for Asians because they need to stay at the lower end of the bmi scale in general on top of the small frame.

Go running, got to the gym and keep your posture right and pretty much everyone can get awesome body. Ofc diet is really important part of that. The one thing that I find really different and a bit uncomfortable between the west and the east is the difference in body possitivity. Like I know everyone cares at least a little about how they look, but in the east (asians especially) tend to put a lot of pressure on their women to change how they look, no matter the cost. I mean, ideal weight at 92 pounds?! That can't be healthy, no matter the body type or size (unless you are very short). At least in the west people have become more accustom to accepting your body and feeling good about yourself. It saddens me to see all these women look down on themselves and call themselves ugly. I wish it were different, or I could talk to them somehow.
