That also goes for chubby or fat people. The real healthy body is the fit type.

The "fit" type of body is NOT what a fit body looks like. Its just the most unachievable size for most people so weight loss and work out companies use it to make money because people will always have to keep coming back. If you think about times in history where there has been food shortages the people with supposedly "fit" bodies would have died first because they would have so little fat reserves, thats also part of the reason so few people have that body type. Its called natural selection.
(sorry i just get really mad with the fitness industry no offence to u personally)

I saw a couple that were not fat per se but kind of "chubby". Like if they lost 5 to 10 kg they'd look fantastic. The other girls looked about average size for Japan, probably 45 to 55 kg depending on height. I'm 162cm and 53kg but I want to lose weight too. I don't wanna be 45kg or less like most of the girls are saying, but I think 47-48kg would be perfect for me.

Instead of trying to distinguish and prop up her evaluation of her circumstance within womanhood and her reality as the only valid one, realize that (and act accordingly) there is something to push to have empathy for and evolve past in every person that speaks of the real violence inside and outside the construct of (specifically in this context: Eastern Asian) Womanhood. 03:50 That reminded me of a conversation I had with my boyfriend, who is Japanese, a few months back. It was about me not doing enough against my acne. He said I should wash my pillow case every day and basically never touch anything sweet again. And, while I do that sometimes, there are also times when I enjoy eating a piece of chocolate and don't care so much about my skin. Anyway, he told me if I behaved like that, in the future he wouldn't tell me how how appearance is perceived in Japan. At first I was really hurt but I thought about it the following night and the next day I told him that I don't want to care about what other people think how I look. He didn't really know what to say. It seems to me this way of thinking had never occurred to him before. Update!: In japan there have been “po-charri kisas” which translates as japanese slang for “chubby (girl) cafes” or cosplay restaurants. They embrace girls who are on the chubbier (NOT OBESE) or a bit over the restrictive standard weight. Ofc they don’t discriminate and thin girls can get hired [allegedly]. Dave "Because weight is directly proportional to health."
I'm not sure about directly propotional, but yeah it's related for sure in some way.
But people who make comments about someones weight is not referring to the weight and health correlation.
They're referring to the weight in general. That's why there's people who don't like that comment.
"Is it wrong for people to say "oh you quit smoking?"
Weight is not the same thing as having quit smoking is.
Quitting smoking is almost always a positive thing and something people want to hear, it's something they're proud of.
But if you say: "oh you gained weight?", it's like you're smearing the obvious negative thing in their face.
I'm not saying it's not okay to say it, I'm saying it can be rude. I not sure what you really mean by "is it wrong", there's so much that not wrong, but not socially acceptable.
You can even say you think someone looks ugly as a fucking garbage can, is it wrong of me to say that if I really think so?
Clearly you can see why it's not always a nice to comment on someones weight.

Haikoo Honestly, yeah. I used to have eating disorders, as well and it’s not fun. I wouldn’t eat and it was hell. Constantly hungry, but chewed gum for flavor to make the hunger subside. I had no reason to lose weight, either. I’ve always been at the healthy weight. Recently, I’ve fallen back. Not exercising much, getting back into swimming, having to march for band on top of that, and only eating one meal per day. That’s my limit. I’m not allowed to eat more or I’ll gain more weight. I’m constantly tired, I get dizzy more than I used to, especially when playing my clarinet. And I know I shouldn’t. I know I’m perfectly fine. I’m healthy (maybe underweight, now), and I constantly get reassurance from my boyfriend. He knows when I fall back and when I’m happy with my weight (though, it’s obvious. He likes to put his hand on my stomach when he holds me and I’ll move it if I’m not happy with my weight), and he tries so hard to let me know I’m not fat. He tries to get me to eat more. I’m glad I’m with him, tbh. Without him, I’d be much worse.
Luckily, it doesn’t take much for me to be happy with my weight. I’d say about 100 pounds, which I believe is about ten or fifteen pounds underweight for my height. I’ve been trying to exercise more to build muscle. I know I should eat and shouldn’t feel bad, but I can’t help it.

+AyAReI00 men and women are attracted to different things. Men would be unlikely to get mad at their girlfriend for lacking ambition, but would care about weight. Most women would be quite the opposite. Whether you like it or not, figure and shape is very important to physical beauty, and physical beauty is very important to men. To expect men to overcome their nature on what they find beautiful is equivalent to expect women to do the same. Most women have nesting behavior and are looking for a tall man who can provide resources and skills to raise children. Should we expect women not to prefer men who have an above average income? Should we tell women not to short shame men? What about women who are trying to CONTROL men by telling them they must have a job or a car? You might not think these are comparable, but that is because you are cherry picking and making excuses why expectations for one set of attractive qualities is acceptable and another is not. If you want your partner to value you, you should try to remain attractive in the ways that THEY find important, not what you find important. If you can't do that, than you are being selfish, and you are not concerned about how they feel, and that makes you the abusive person of the relationship.

I'm asian, 152cm and weight 45kgs. People here said that I'm fat all the time. At first time I used to listen to all, calling me fat, until I cut ties severely with those kind of people. I do believe women are beautiful no matter what they look.If you have friends calling you fat, they are not your real friends because people should respect others no matter what they look. I choose to unfriend friends that called me fat immediately and now I'm happy. I 'm still 152 cm, 45 kgs and happy without people calling me fat and told me what to do with my body.

My mom is Asian and it’s all she cares about. Money and how fat or skinny I am. She sent me a new jacket for Christmas and I told her I was wearing it in my new photo on FB. So she calls me later and is like “I saw your photo. Looks like you gained weight!!” Literally, that’s it. No “hi how are you?” No “the jacket looks nice” - just goes right in to inform me of the obvious. Seriously wtf. I don’t need this b to tell me I gained weight, I’m not blind! How stupid can you be to think that’s an acceptable form of socializing with someone? You might as well call someone and be like “wow you really look hideous in your new jacket!” Because that’s obviously what anyone who does this crap is really thinking. You don’t care how healthy someone is, you just want them to be pleasing to your eyes. My mom was fatter than me all my life and only drinking vinegar straight made her lose weight, yet she still had to tell me with disgust that I was fat. It is the most self-centered nonsense disguised as encouraging someone to be healthy. If people gave a crap how healthy others were they’d be equally chiding people for eating at McDonald’s, eating potato chips, eating donuts, eating pizza, etc. That’s NOT what people actually care about. They just want to hold you to beauty standards and use “health” as a supporting argument to do so. If I put out a plate of freshly cooked deep fried food at a party, I guarantee you that will be snatched up by every skinny person in the room within minutes without a concern for health. If I see a box of donuts I am usually the last one to touch it while all the skinny people go for it. There’s a reason “pizza party” is the go-to food gathering in America. You’ve never heard of a salad party or a fruit party. Also 99% of adults drink a poison called alcohol and pressure others to drink it with them, rather than chiding others for drinking it. My mom was a violent, abusive alcoholic for my entire childhood, and I have never drunk an ounce of alcohol in my life. Many people will tell you you’re fat but I am probably the only person who has ever told my mom she was an alcoholic!
And btw the reason I have gained weight is because of chronic hip pain for the past 10.5 months. I hung up the phone and declined further calls from my mom after that. Stop being so superficial and fake, people!

It was during October time and the family had a Halloween party and the mother’s daughter invited her friends round. I remember one of the friends was just talking about whatever and then she suddenly turned to me and went “you’re so skinny!”. It was such a shock because she acted like it was a compliment. I was severely underweight then and dealing with an ED, so it just shows something :(

I wear a size 6/8 in American clothing and the first time I didn’t feel like I was obese was when I got to America for university, where body positivity was much more established. In my Asian home country I was constantly told how fat I’d gotten, scrutinised at every family meeting with aunts and uncles and cousins and grandparents talking about whether I’d lost or gained weight, my friends would be obsessed with being skinny and constantly compared themselves to girls on Instagram or asian celebrities who are literally dangerously underweight, and every time I glimpsed myself in the mirror walking next to my skinny cousins I’d feel like breaking down and crying. My love for food was something I battled with, and every time I’d eat something I would break down in tears afterward because I hated myself for “giving into my temptations”, and every time I failed to starve myself or skip a meal (this usually never worked past a day) I would feel like I was being lazy and failed. I never suffered from starvation nor successfully managed to diet, and that killed me inside. The asian mindset when it comes to food and weight is toxic, and is so deeply engrained in society it makes me disgusted to my core.
