Crazy how he just completely obliterated that solo yet was the only one not hyped. Just went back to his spot like he had other things on his mind. Absolute beast at what he does.
I’m at 100+ since I found the clip last night…. No exaggeration, lol! … ( and I think I’ve looked up every other recording of him playing this also… I saw one where he was still in high school)
I played the trombone for 8 years, 4 of of which were in a state championship music program. I have heard some amazing trombonists before. I was good at my instrument. I had no IDEA it could sound like THIS! 😮
I can’t count how many times I’ve listened to this. What I’d give to hear this without all the back ground noise and listen to as a song alone. Major major props to this player. From nearly tearing up to a smile from ear to ear from amazement in how much of his soul he put into his trombone the whole solo is unbelievable!! I wish him a great future.
honestly played a TON of music growing up (piano, cello, flute), played well enough to win some medals and prizes and play principal/first chair for some smaller time orchestras, and i had no idea a trombone could be played like this. this is insane.
The entire bank was SHOOK!!! Especially the Trumpet section (top right, just below the standing trombones), they're looking like "Hey!! He's playing OUR NOTES!!" I guess the only folks who knew of Bilal's excellence were the other trombone players. I used to play the trombone and never knew there could be such a thing as a T-bone SOLO!!!
What I love most about this video is the sheer amount of hype that builds as his solo goes on. The band starts out like "oh this is cool" and by middle of the video the entire band, and the audience are into the solo and the music hyping him up! This is MUSIC man!!! Just watch the woman in the pink shirt to his left, she goes from watching the game to getting more and more into the music!
He definitely did his thang,BUT AFTER HE WAS DONE HE THREW HIS HANDS UP LIKE “oh now y’all wanna put me on the big screen” 😂😂 THAT WAS ONE OF THE BEST SOLO PLAYINGS
Reaction of the guy in the front is great at around 0:45. Starts shaking his head and chuckles as he already knows how unbelievably good it sounds and how unbelievably good this guy, he probably already knows, is.
Notice the right hand flick at 0:38 like he knew he was about to cook! He ate and ate this solo. What a talent. I keep watching it over just to see the crowd realize what’s happening.
That man comes in to shut the band battle down.... extreme talent and I played football lol if I hear this mid game I'm going tf off! Super fire music from this fella and the band!
The best part about this is that it was a part of a battle between the horn sections of the two teams. The other team had to feel hella disrespected 😂😂😂😂 You can’t follow that!!!
I love the trombone because it's heavily featured in early SKA music, but I have neva eva eva eva heard it played like that Big Will made sure that black kicked blue's ass
Literally both of them are great but the younger siblings have the opportunity to learn earlier and learn from their siblings mistakes. That’s why Serena Williams is better than Venus.
@@Briiiii23 honestly, I never thought of it like that. E.x. My older sister is really good at soccer but I had to Naruto grind my way to her level even watching her. She is a natural with wasted talent sadly. But I hope my younger sisters are better than I am at everything. Money, cars, athletics, etc.
@@knotgabrieL lol literally me too! My older sister played softball and so she taught me what I know earlier in my life then she got to learn and so now I’m way better than her lol
Jack Teagarden, Frank Rosoleno, J. J. Johnson, Delfeayo Marsalis, Al Grey, Bill Waltrous and the rest of the great trombonists would be sooooo proud. Soulful and stirring.
Woke every last ancestor up with this one.
AND DID 💯✊🏾
This!

That was TOUGH
Had to catch his breath
He done said all he needed to.

Is this what love feels like??? I’ve watched him play this piece over 100 times.
It's awesome ik right he can play I would pay him to play if I had the money
I’m at 67 don’t let me catch up to you lol

HBCU band program really hit different
And they say we can’t make trombones sing smh 🤦🏾♂️
I watch this whole thing EVERY time it crosses my timeline on ANY platform... Still get goosebumps
That's what "One Band One Sound" looks like. That soloist is off the charts, but all them cats are tight!
This! Not enough appreciation for the tight crisp chords they're laying down for him to tear it up
Boy plays the trombone like he’s singing R&B, I’m here for it 👍🏽

There's AI that can separate the different sounds on a track. Why not try that?
@@DerrickBest I wasn’t even aware AI could do that. Thanks for the tip!
He made that trombone sound like a sax trumpet a baritone melephone and a himan
that dawg playin like grandma down the street but couldn’t go to the game
My man this comment hit me hard. Bought legit tears to my eyes

Eeeyyy! I feel this!
I refuse to believe god isnt real after this.
Amen!
And Amen 🙏🏽 🙌🏾 👏🏾
What's the correlation
Praise!!!!
Everyone losing their mind has my in absolute hysterics 😂😂😂😂
They were not fuckin ready for that

If a trombone player aint leaning back he aint cooking!
He was cooking with napalm!

What's crazy is how the opposing team's band embarrassed themselves when they still tried to clap back at this, and fell HELLA short of it! 😂
Every time this show up on my feed I will watch it
real
The person who stood up felt the same thing I did immediately when they heard the solo start
This literally brings tears to my eyes everytime I watch it. It's so moving.
This lives in my head rent free!!!

He did u tell the other side he was doing thw solo
I love how you could hear and feel the crowd slowly start to realize whats happening.
I almost got fired cause showed everyone at work and didn’t give a flying fig if boss was looking!! GO THE F OFF!!!! YES!!!! 🙌🏽
I can't believe I've been watching this solo for 50 minutes
The chills i get like i aint been listening to this non stop for several weeks..
God is that you!?!
It is!! I’ve been feeling like his playing can bring God glory!!😊
I saw a comment that said homie is the one who's gonna blast the trumpet on Judgement day!
WILD!

With his whole back and chest, he played that trombone! You did that kind sir; you DID THAT!!! ❤

I feel like the drum line missed out on an epic background beat..
As a drummer, I can the intensity of the groove build, and I'm loving it
