Uncharted is a ton of fun. I went as a superfan of the games and my wife has never played them. I thought it did the games justice while also being an enjoyable film. My wife, who's never played the games, really enjoyed it as an action/adventure film.
Yah and I think for that they did a good job, pleasing fans and none fans of the franchise
So many people don't like this movie, but I think it did a good job of making the series it's own thing from the games while still capturing the essence of what the games were. Ik that mark isnt perfect as Sully, but this isn't supposed to be game Sully. This is movie Sully. Different mediums need different versions.

Hey Tim, as a fan of the Uncharted games, I enjoyed the movie for what it was. But that after credit scene...that's a perfect example for you of how the world of Uncharted, is supposed to be. Fingers cross for the sequel and I'm ready for the next adventure! ☺👍

If you want to see more Tom Holland outside the MCU, you HAVE to watch The Impossible.

The best movie that I will never watch again! Saw it when I was in high school and was traumatized! Even back then Tom Holland was a high caliber actor, out shining Naomi Watts AND Ewan McGregor. He looked just like my friend's little brother whom we called 'Chaunce' so just called him that in The Impossible. Imagine my surprise when I realized that Chaunce was the new Spider-Man 🤣
Personally I thought Tom Holland did great as Nathan Drake. Imo, he genuinely seemed like a younger version. The attitude, banter, and stunts all seemed game accurate, and I’ve played every game except the PS Vita one. I also thought Rudy Pankow did great as a young Sam, for his short appearance
The Vita Uncharted game is the main reason I got the Vita lol. I ended up loving my Vita for other games. I'm sad I can't play the Uncharted battle card game that came out on Vita with other people. That was such a fun card battle game.

You liked it because you're not stupid. You didn't expect 100% accurate remake of the games and you weren't angry and sulking just because Nathan Drake wasn't played by Nathan Fillion, like many of the trolls did. I'm actually happy they didn't like it, they deserve that.

I recommend another Tom Holland movie, Chaos Walking, released in 2021. It's a sci-fi movie where the male gender can physically show their thoughts. Personally, I think it's a good movie. I'd love to see your reaction to it! 😊

I fangirled after I saw Nolan North chilling on the island.
You should defenitly check out other tom holland movies, like Cherry,The devil all the time or chaos walking , they all were rated very low by the critics but people really loved it so i would be happy if you do your reaction to any one of them💖
I remember seeing this movie in theaters. And I enjoyed it, it was so enjoyable that I’m thinking about playing the Uncharted video games

Have been playing Uncharted since the PS3 was released with Drake's Fortune back in what? 2007? Went in with low expectations and came out pleasantly surprised. For those that didn't play all of the games, the movie is definitely a reimagining of Uncharted 4, cherry-picking elements to keep and replace. Has a carbon-copy set-piece from Uncharted 3 (the plane crash) changes the history, and has a ton of Easter eggs throughout. The epilogue is a 'reference' to both Nate and Sully's first meeting in U3 in Columbia when he was 14 and a nod to setting up the villain for Uncharted 1 (Drake's Fortune), Gabriel Roman.
I should preface with, I feel like Uncharted 4, (as good as it was) is really the black sheep of the pack because it was done with Neil Druckman as the director and writer (along with Josh Shurr) Instead of Amy Henning who had done the original trilogy. Again, love Druckman, especially his work with The Last of Us (yes, both 1 & 2) but A Thief's End (U4) felt pretty different.
That being said, whoever wrote the movie, as campy as it was, it felt like they really understood the spirit of Uncharted, just adding their own flare (as Druckman did with U4). Also, the new set piece that they added for the climax was amazing and very 'on brand' for the franchise. 10/10.
So admittedly? Really enjoyed it. I still don't think too hard about it 'being Uncharted' because nothing that can fit into a movie time-slot will ever be as nuanced as a 25 hour Uncharted game but I really ended up loving all of the casting choices (yes, even Wahlberg) if only because they made the characters their own and didn't just 'act' like the in-game characters (one of the reasons I didn't love the Nathan Fillion fan trailer). Also, they seriously cast the best Chloe that I could have ever dreamed up and I hope that Tom Holland gets another shot at being Drake, he did great but I'd love to see him make the character his own a bit more. He did a great job but I know he's played the games, so I think he stuck closer to the source material than he needed to, but he's got the right energy to really make Nathan Drake his own.
Overall, a fun action filled movie that I'll watch any day, that just happens to mirror my favorite video game series. It could definitely be improved upon, but it's enjoyable none the less. Also the addition of that freaking cat is hilariously silly, and amazing, and I love it (and now I NEED MORE OF IT)!

This movie actually incorporates a lot of elements from the main 4 games of the series in a fun way:
- the backstory with Sam from Uncharted 4
- the main plot is based on Uncharted 3
- Chloe is from Uncharted 2
- the after-credits scene teases Gabriel Roman from the first Uncharted
I'm not that into the series, but seeing it in theater was really nice. Fun adventure movie with decent score and story, impressive stunts and solid acting. Here's hoping this movie will follow in Sonic's footsteps and will also get an excellent sequel.
I hope they bring Elena in the sequel for this. Cause her sully and Nathan make the main trio of the games and Elena is also Nathan's main love interest.

I love the games but hadn't any expectations watching this in the cinema and was plesantly suprised. Is it as good as the games, no. But it was a lot of fun and Mark Wahlberg was actually a very good Sully. I loved all the easter eggs for the ones who knew the games.
Not having played the game and going into the movie fully blind, I was entertained and makes me want to play the game now.

Okay look up the Uncharted fan film. That is what this film should have been a continuation of that, as they already had the perfect people cast for Elena, Sully, and Nate.
100% agree. Nathan Fillion was perfect. I loved that his real name was Nathan too 🤣 and that he was a fan of the games. This film however. I enjoyed it for what it was. It's possible to build something great out of this. Just hope they don't ruin the entire concept like they did with Tomb Raider

I enjoyed watching uncharted movie as a treasure hunting.
I saw it in theaters with my family and we loved it
I did enjoy the movie but the constant betrayal was cumbersome. I haven't played Uncharted 4, but I played 1 to 3 and I don't want to spoil the games for anyone so all I'll say is, you don't constantly backstab someone that you risked your life to protect. The games story arc for these characters are much better.

And even though they hired some more experienced people to helm the project, they didn't have much ambition
Especially Ruben Fleischer, who has been acting more as a director for hire recently
Now I have not seen this movie yet but just from this I don't like the characters. The game over the course of the 4 different iterations gets you emotionally invested into the character's interests. You see Nate start out as a young man and all of a sudden he thrust into a life-or-death situation where he thinks that the man who practically raised him since he was 14 years old is dead and now he has to take care of this journalist that he has a crush on, and keep her safe, and fight with her against a literal cartel. You see that go into the second game where hes no longer with Elena and now hes with Chloe and then you see how in the end of that Chloe basically pushes him back to Elena because she sees that he really does love Elena. In the third one Elena and Nate are separated, but Sully convinces them to get back together again. The amount of times that Sully and Nate have had to rely on each other and trust each other and save each other's lives is insane, but despite that the sociopathic lady from the third game still tried to play mindgames and make Nate doubt the love of the only father figure in his life. Then in you get the backstory of how Nate was an orphan and Sully took a minute 14 years old after he stole Sully's wallet, and how he saved him from being shot by the terrible woman's agent. In four you see Sam get brought back after he had been shot in the prison. Finally you see Nate fight his last villain the spoilt rotten rich guy that resorted to murder when he wasn't getting his way. All in all you follow the journey of Nate from a 14 year old boy trying to make it in the world on his own as an orphan, to a grown man has relationship issues, but works through them and finally settles down with the woman hes meant to be with; and throughout the way the way learns how to protect the people he loves no matter what to cost. Even if that means risking his life mowing down a bunch of cartel guys, or the mercenaries in an army for hire, whatever it takes, he will keep his family safe. I don't think Nate was a great man he made a lot of mistakes, stole a lot of things, lie do a lot of people; but at least throughout it he learned and he became at least a man that was willing to do what was right most of the time.

I fucking love this movie, i watched it in theaters and was in awe bc it is so up my alley and everything is perfect for me, i cannot wait for the second one!
Little story: It was the national day of cinema in my country so every movie ticket was super cheap (like $3) so i bought to rewatch NWH and then right after the movie ended i also bought for Uncharted bc i wanted to watch it so much, so i went out from one Tom movie right to the next, it was such a fun day
I need to see it still but just want to say it seems good and hope it looks cool as the games

I love this movie
Okay I’ll put this simply I fuckin love uncharted it’s my favourite game franchise it’s unbelievable. And this film is amazing BUT I wish they didn’t call it uncharted if this was just a movie on its own it would be sick but the fact that it has uncharted characters in it makes me like it so much less. The biggest reason is because NO ONE can play Nathan Drake apart from Nolan North like he IS Nathan drake and I loved his cameo in the movie . So the film is good but the actors just aren’t it. Nathan is too loved as a character to be on screen
I'dk why this movie got so much hate...I loved it...I love the uncharted game series...but it's a game where each story is elaborate and detailed and are each almost or more than 15hrs long and as it's a game,the longer the better,but that doesn't work in a movie. It possible can't give the same feeling when made into a >3hr movie...
And yes,Tom looks too young for Nate.. compared to uncharted 4,even sully looks young af..just take it as this was Nate just starting out and his first adventure... that's why everyone's younger than the game..
It had great visuals,and great storytelling for an uncharted movie in 2½hrs and yes ik there were a few parts that felt like "it's right there and no one saw?",but,just let it slide...

The Uncharted movie needs a directors cut. While I appreciate Fleischer wanting to improve the pacing, it seems that he cut about 20-30 minutes of unreleased deleted scenes that would have improved the bonding between characters, such as Nate/Chloe's romance and Nate/Sully's friendship.
This is my favorite movie in 2022 (along side with sonic movie 2)

Sadly, AVI ARAD has none of that
So they were fighting for the magellan's gold that he found in the Philippines. Then that means he stole it in the Philippines hahaha.....but that's just in the movie and im not a history expert, but I am a filipino and as far as I remember magellan brought a lot of spices from his voyage, and traded it here in the Philippines in a fair trade/barter. Magellan also made a blood compact with the tribe leader lapu lapu, but I don't really remember how and why they ended up fighting in the beach, I was a kid when it was taught in school....but I do remember that magellan was killed not by lapu lapu, but by his tribe member
This movie along with No Way Home is a win-win for Tom Holland under Sony Pictures!
Sadly this film is everything i was afraid it was. It's a hollow amalgamation imitation of all the games stories combined into something unrecognizable form the franchise. I understand them wanting to start Drake as a young man so they can potentially have Tom Holland play him through a series and to milk all his spider-man fans but they could have done a better job with the script. Each of the games could have been a movie in their own right and yet they decided to take "Elements" from each one to make a film rather then just one game per movie. I can't understand this idea since it means they now have to be "Original" with any other future films which these script writers have proven they clearly cannot handle since most of their dialogue is trope heavy and taken from other films. And as far as the casting goes I think the greatest sin is Mark Walberg as "Sully". I can imagine trying to "Modernize" the character but Sully was a classic thief from a by gone era of underworld sophistication,,,, and they got Walberg who can do an "Any man Accent". If anyone here likes this film, good for you but if anyone has played the video games and enjoyed the series like I have, i have no love for this film and feel this could have been handled MUCH better.
Side note @TimotheeReacts look up "Nathan Fillion Uncharted Short Film" on youtube and you will see how this film SHOULD have been made.

How it was in the game then there be no surprise yes the fan film was great and so was Nathan Fillion but that doesn’t mean you should criticizes this movie and seeing the easter eggs video about the movie showed they knew a lot about the game
I saw this in the theater, having not played the games for more than a few minutes. I think Tom looks to young to be Nathan. The film was fun, some parts completely ridiculous.

I recently saw this movie and it was surprisingly so good I wasn't expecting it to be given the amount of hate I seen about it lol. And it's actually pretty semi accurate to the video game. They did a good job on this.
I did start playing the Uncharted games after I watched this movie. In my opinion, I probably would have disliked the movie if I played the games before watching the movie. Watching it without any prior knowledge, I think its a decent movie.

@@jamesmoyner7499 the original Mortal Kombat is a great(if not cheesy) film. The new MK film is good but not as good(Kano steals the film). Sonic is fun(I haven’t seen the new one yet). I thought the original Tomb Raider was the only watchable one at the time. I tried to rewatch it recently and I barely got a quarter through it. The sequel was just poor and the remake tried hard to replicate the new games but failed miserably to capture any of the magic. Instead they kept Lara away from any adventuring for half the film and made her a bike messenger(I’ll be honest I don’t remember a great deal about it).

@@jamesmoyner7499 you have to watch the 1995 version at the very least(do NOT watch Annihilation unless you need a reason to gouge your own eyes out afterwards because that film is a fucking abomination). The ‘95 film is a classic with one of the greatest theme songs ever put to film.

Coming from a big uncharted fan and I’ve been waiting on this movie since it was announced in 2012-2013 … but the actors they chose and trailer scenes just shows it to be just as cheesy as the fast n furious films

As a fellow long time Uncharted fan, i have to say when i went to watch the movie in the theaters i had extremely low expectations, mainly i think because i didnt like the idea of tom playing nathan drake and also lack of shootouts and sully's stasche :( but i gotta say the film turned out much better than i expected, a solid 7/10, the games are a 10 tho for shure definetly recomend:)

For a young Nathan Drake I think he was fine. If they were trying to stick to game age which I assume was around early thirties at the beginning of Uncharted then yes he would’ve been hugely miscast. As such, I don’t think he was. Mark Whalberg on the other hand, correct age or not, I think he was just wrong no matter how you justify it.

@@animal-rights They literally changed cast of Mark Wahlberg as Nathan Drake because he became too old for the story. That's why they hired Tom Holland. They didn't change the story to fit Tom. They changed actor to fit the story.
