Extraction. Before the sequel arrives. Great 12 minute ''one shot'' action sequence !
I expected this to be garbage but it was way better than it had any right to be. I had a blast, I think there’s grounds for a good to great sequel if they play their cards right. Tom is a charismatic lead and put an impressive amount of work into the stunts. Plus, it made bank, so to the studio it paid off 😭
Same. I'm a big fan of the games and I wasn't happy about the casting but if you just switch off and go in as a new thing, it's fun. I hope we get a second film

When you realize this is Nathan Drakes origin story and his first real adventure it does allow for a more enjoyable watch. It also showcases that Tom Holland can do action movies. I hope he keeps making good movies and becomes of the great action heroes of this generation.
It’s an origin story that takes thing from the games but dose not follow the story 100% and I kinda like that

The final setpiece is a ridiculous, fun idea. Something that could totally be in an Uncharted game.

when has something like that ever happened in the games, though? I only recall setpieces crumbling/being destroyed during fights, not "ridiculous" ones like ships being carried by helicopters... but I could be mistaken.

Yeah, i don't need these movies to be realistic, in fact i think i prefer it when they have this over-the-top ridiculous action that the games do.
overall i was pleasantly surprised how much fun this movie was and i honestly hope they make some more.
but yeah not sure what i think about wahlberg as sully.

its crazy how we view action today and CGI, like if this movie came out 20 years ago people would be losing their shit at how real the action looks. makes me wonder how in 20 years times people will point out "bad" CGI which would look unbelievable to us today
just look at how people view the Avatar movie. when it came out, it was seen as a visual masterpiece. But nowadays people look at it saying that ''oh, it really didnt look that good'' as if it isn't still a 12 year old movie. and then people have been talking about the sequel as if it's going to look exactly the same as the first, and not an other massive leap in visuals
Makes me wish people sometimes would just let themselves enjoy things, it's fine to point it out but just take it in
From the perspective of someone who’s never played the game, I had a fun time watching the movie. Was I on the edge of my seat, no. But I didn’t reach for my phone more than once or twice while watching haha!
As someone who's a massive fan of the games, I think they did a good job. I wasn't expecting much going in but if you can disconnect from the games and accept it as its own thing, it's fun
Yeah bro same I don't anything about the games nor the characters so I didn't know what to expect and I agree this movie was so interesting finding the treasure they were looking for. And I have to say the same not once did I check my phone
Tom Holland did a fine job portraying Nate, Mark Wahlberg was just Mark Wahlberg but he is still always fun to watch in goofy movies like this

tbf the burning dudes were just hallucinations and the yetis were just "super-soldiers" in yeti costumes to scare people. The zombies were probably the only unrealistic part of the franchise apart from the physics.
The Uncharted movie needs an extended cut. It seems that they cut about 20-30 mins of unreleased deleted scenes that would have improved the bonding between characters, such as Nate/Chloe's romance and Nate/Sully's friendship. Please help to make this happen.
There’s about 20 minutes of deleted scenes on the blu ray but most of it is scenes that are cut short so not really deleted scenes just shorten scenes
@@ryans413 Sorry, but you mean about only 10 minutes have been released. I was talking about unreleased deleted scenes e.g the Nate and Chloe kissing scene.
This movie was actually good. Bizarre adaptation but so much fun on its own. The dialogue, banter, and action were pretty great

It’s an ok film
So many cameos from the games. Plane sequence from U3. The orphanage from U4. The boats in the caves from U4. The Art auction from U4. Chloe from U2. Sam from U4.
It was really bad...
I went into this with 0 expectations due to how bad I thought he casting was. It was way better than I thought it could be. Still not crazy about the casting, but it captured a lot of the Uncharted feel.

I honestly really liked this movie. I thought Tom did great as young Nate Drake, and the action sequences all definitely felt very Uncharted. I think the biggest downfall was Mark Whalberg as Sully. But I think the actress for Chloe did a great job too. And I like that they started the series with Nate and Chloe's relationship, since in the games they had a history before Elena
And honestly, Mark Whalberg had the potential to play a good Sully...... if he didn't just act as Mark Whalberg Role No. 23
not to mention the fact tom actually did the stunts himself :) he’s such an impressive actor and i wanna see more of him in movies

@@piotrswat169 what are you talking about? Morbius is absolutely one of the movies of all time. My favorite part of the movie was when those thugs tried to mug morbius on his nighttime walk. Morbius was like "this is my territory. I thrive in the night. Witness the morb." Then he morbed all over those dudes. Rest of the movie was also a movie.
I just watched it as a treasure hunt movie and I had a blast. Cool action, funny dialogue and a fun to follow set of clues.
I went to see this movie thinking nothing of it, I’ve obviously played the games but I actually really really enjoyed it, some good action, good visuals and you cannot beat Tom Holland
I can also confirm that we Scot’s do not all sound like that
I enjoyed it for what it was, and I appreciate it had a genuine "didn't see that coming" moment (Braddock betraying Banderas - forgotten the character name), which is rare. I may have enjoyed it more for not having played Uncharted (was an Xbox person for that entire era, probably would have had I had access).
I could see it coming because it happened in 3 out of 4 games
I never played any Uncharted games so I went in with no expectations. I had such a blast the first time I watched it that I watched it a second time. A really enjoyable movie with an amazing cast.
I think the reason I enjoyed the movie so much is because I haven't watched an adventure movie in a very long time.

You guys should watch Tomb Raider 2018! I always heard terrible things about it, but I watched it for myself recently and I actually enjoyed it more than a lot of other video game movies...
So true, I feel like It’s the only good videogame movie I’ve seen, I was surprised that most of the changes they did felt like improvements, for example I really don’t mind exchanging Jonah for LuRen because they feel like different enough characters and Jonah is usually not even present for most of the game.
The only thing I’ll never like about the movie is how they changed the dad story, I love the tragic assassination story from the games and how it ties the story to Ana and Trinity, also the drastic change of how the dad looked didn’t really help me like it either…
But still I really love this Lara Movie

Uhhh ok randomly thought that I’d love to see the boys watch “A Series of Unfortunate Events” I feel like it’s a very in depth show and has a lot to talk about with the mysteries and what not. Similar to gravity falls in a sense where there’s a lot of room for speculation in between episodes. It’s one of my all time favorite shows and hopefully they might watch it all together one day.😀👍

I agree on most what you said about Mark Wahlberg as Sully, in the after credit scene though, I think he really looked a lot more like the original one.
My roomate and I watched this movie one night, and we could not stop laughing at the climactic scene with the flying ships. That shit was so random and like nothing prepared me to see these giant ass ships just casually being flown around.
The stunts were really good. Some great falls
Some people can enjoy a fun movie like this, others want it to be a perfect representation of Uncharted or else they boycott it because obviously this is not what they wanted even if there are bits they liked. I see TH-cam videos about this movie like "This movie is HORRIBLE", "Anatomy of a FAILURE" and it's like... dude, calm down. It's not even close to that level of bad.
I just don't like that it expects us to care about these characters because their names are Nathan and Sully, yet don't make them into good characters. I want to be invested in these characters without playing the games, and this movie doesn't give me that. just my take tho

Never played the games, so definitely missed out on any added value from seeing characters / moments from the games adapted to the big screen. But my big take away was that the leads just didn't have enough chemistry to quite pull off the 'clenched-teeth teamwork' vibe they needed at the core of it to carry the movie. Liked the choreography and Tom Holland's stunt-work and performance overall, though.
i don't play any games, but i love adventure films so i had a lot of fun watching this in cinema. however as a historian, i legit cried when they destroyed the ships! that said, i will happily watch other films if this becomes a franchise.

Honestly I've only seen a playthrough of Uncharted 4 so...those are the plot point lifts/inspirations that I recognize. Namely the auction bit, with the cross, but also the pirate ship in a cave. Minus the flying.

Meow, I watched it last night so I could watch this reaction lol. Having never played the games, but being a fan of both Tom & Marky Mark, I had soooo much fun with this movie. Also made me want to rewatch "Three Kings". Child of the 80s here so I'm still waiting for "Good Vibrations" and/or a CK ad to feature in a Mark Wahlberg movie lol
i am a big fan of the games and even though continuity wise not everything matched up it was still a fun movie.
For me this didn't capture the spirit of Uncharted which has more of a wholesmome, sweeping, swashbuckling vibe.
If it was a National Treasure reboot and Whalberg was replaced with Nic Cage I would have liked it a lot more.
I had no expectations ahead of this movie but I had a great time with it. It was a breath of fresh air to suspend belief and watch something so silly but fun. I’m invested for the sequel
39:52 Totally breaks canon. We see how Nate meets Sully in Uncharted 3, and there's a tie in comic to the games that already showed how Nate met Chloe. So film is definetly not canon

The fight on the ship near the end of the movie was so disorienting I eventually couldn’t follow what was happening when I saw this at my local cinema
Probably the one complaint i see the most will never get is, is people saying should have been Nathan Fillion. This was a VERY young Nate. Thats what the story is about. Fillion is 50, and looks it. He may be the perfect cast for an adult Nathan Drake in a later sequel, but he'd be a massive miscast for this film
That's the thing. No one wants to see a young Nathan Drake with Tom Holland. We wanted to see Drake in his prime. Played by Chris Pratt or something.

Literally follow the template of the original game, it’s a great adventure.

I haven't played or heard of uncharted until watching this movie, and I really enjoyed it, and after watching this reaction video I now know where it came from, I thinks a great prequel to the series and they are definitely going for a younger look there, but still, Sully should have a polo shirt or something, something a bit more dignified and speaks a bit more "old" into the whole asthettic and vibe

I was surprised by how much I enjoyed this movie. Yeah, they changed Nathan & Sullys history and Sully didn't have the iconic moustache... but it still had enough in it to feel like it was Uncharted for me.

Just watched the movie and was wondering if anyone else thought it was weird that they didn't just drop the first boat. And then follow Nate & Sully in the helicopter w/o any addtl weight.
Minor correction: Lost Legacy stars Chloe and Nadine. The South African mercenary woman from Uncharted 4.
And that little DLC has still so much more, humor, charisma, drama and story than this movie could ever dream of…
If you live in Berlin you can clearly see that the Movie was shot there, I have to walk 10 Minutes to get to this bar.

One thing I thought was unrealistic when it came to people's reaction to this is why people were so upset that it wasn't a perfect adaptation. While yes, having the movies closely match the games to the point where the movie seems kind of like a game in a way sounds good; to me, it sounds uninspired. I think Sony wasn't really trying to make a carbon copy perfect adaptation. I think they wanted to do something where it is sort of like a separate canon. In my mind, both the games and the movie is canon, but they are only really canon for their medium. The games are canon for the games and the movie is canon for the movie/s. I think they wanted to make something new with the overall feel of Uncharted so they could expand the series into something bigger than just the games.
But IDK that's just my opinion.
Nothing is gonna be bigger than the games man.
Holland was a gymnast far before he got spider-man so its really just so much gymnast training.

I enjoyed it. But yea, Wahlberg was a bad choice for Sully. I get it, they're going for Nathan being younger, so Sully needs to be younger, and as the franchise grows and ages over the next decade maybe Wahlberg will start to make more sense, but they needed an actor who looked older. Wahlberg is 50 years old, but he doesn't look it. IMO if this franchise goes 15 years maybe Wahlberg will THEN get to that point. But that means it takes 4-5 movies to get to the Sully we know from the series, lol.
These movie will not last that long lol this movie was bad and if they do decide to make another it will flop

Video game movies or shows I’d like too see. Heavy Rain done as a TV show it’s perfect for like probably 5 seasons that can be done in the games style and be interesting too see how the story unfolds through out the show. Until Dawn as a horror movie it’s a great setup cabin in the mountains with weird spiritual elements happening. Telltales Walking Dead as a show told through first Lee for a season or two then Clementine for a season or two. Detroit Become Human as either a show or movie I think the way the game plays it be better as a movie like the i-Robot film. Motor Storm all the games could be done as a racing movie like Fast and Furious. Split Second another racing game could be done as a movie like the film Death Race in a way. Midnight Club LA another racing game that could be a movie done like Fast and a Furious. Call Of Duty MW could make a good TV show that follows a guy that gets recruited to go undercover with Russians you all know that level in the game. And lastly I think Wipeout HD make a great TV show about futuristic racing maybe 4 seasons worth.
The Movie was Actually Good! I Enjoyed it!
Looking at this and then looking at Nathan Fillion's age *and version and whatnot, he can still absolutely play Nathan Drake but as a much older Drake, like a drake from the end of the last game. Not saying what happens there because spoilers but a nate from the final scene would still absolutely work, he wouldn't even have to do too much action as well by virtue of being a much older Nathan Drake.
Wish it was a longer movie, it felt like it went way too quick
