Fun fact: The actress who played Jo, Tati Gabrielle, intimidated a lot of people on set because she is very well versed in hand-to-hand combat. She has a black belt in karate and has done other forms of martial arts too.
What I love best about this is they capture what being a bartender is like. Most people think it's just making drinks... You have to greet and entertain everyone from anywhere at anytime. Japan. Korea. Midwest. Australia. You have to meet all those challenges and serve your drinks.
I love that Steven caught on the fact that this version is supposed to be the younger days of their partnership. Thank you Steven, thank you

The younger days of Nathan Drake yet they included set pieces from Uncharted 3 and 4. The script was really all over the place

@@josemoreno4864 if it was a copy of the game storyline I wouldn't enjoy it because I've beat the games. Same reason a movie rarely mirrors a book if it's made from one.

Check out THE IMPOSSIBLE (2012) for a super young Tom Holland roll. The movie itself is pretty damn good, as well.
The guy on the beach was indeed Nolan north the voice actor for Nathan in all of the Uncharted games.
Also voiced David in The Last Of Us.

It’s a movie and it’s uncharted do you really think Nathan can climb walls and buildings like he dose in the game in real life no but it’s not trying to be realistic but just fun
I'm a huge fan of both actors and was still reserved on this casting but they both really killed it!
I think people get too caught up in everything having to be exactly like the game. No way is this a bad movie and I agree it’s not Uncharted but it’s pretty close and future sequels could bring it to being closer to uncharted. I thought Mark and Tom did a great job both are funny together I also think the director did a good job with the film too. Sofia is a perfect Chloe if any of the casting is perfect it’s Chloe. Antonio was fun underused but still okay for his role. The original Drake Nolan North was really nice too see but so many people are so confused at that part even some the people I know that have played the game don’t recognize him.

The helicopters that picked up the ships are Sikorsky CH-54 Tarhe. But realistically, the helicopters are powered by, twin 4,500 horsepower engines and are capable of lifting 20,000 lbs!
Apparently pirate ships weighed around 2 million pounds the smaller ones being around 500k

With the bar scene Tom had to go to a real bar to be taught how to to some of them tricks they do
It’s a perfect whole family movie. Keeps my husband and kids interested. Just over fun.
My biggest skepticism going into this was mark Walberg being sully lol but he did alright lol

The Uncharted series is my favorite video game series. I've played through it numerous times. I didn't have a problem with the changes they made for the movie. It was a fun adventure.
They didn't make a lot of changes tho kid. They incorporated multiple games in one whilst focusing on one story. Same w the 2nd, it'll most likely be the story of the 4th, a thief's end while incorporating parts of all games. Like some stuff that happened in 4 they used in this

If you liked Tom Holland in this, I would recommend "The devil all the time" it has him and Robert pattinson in and is a great thriller and psychological piece.

You should watch Devil all the time! It’s honestly such a good movie with actors like Tom Holland, Robert Patterson and Alexander Skarsgård. Highly recommended
Y'all said that y'all haven't seen my boy Tom in anything else, so I have a recommendation. The Devil All The Time. It is a great freaking movie! I think both of y'all will enjoy it very much. It's a Thriller. The acting in that movie is Oscar worthy.
It's really incredible the difference between the care/thought that went into The Last of Us adaptation versus Uncharted.

I'm torn because copy and pasting from source material feels both more pure and cheap at the same time. Should an adaptation be based on the universe but be its own thing or try to be exactly the same but in a different medium?

In my opinion Uncharted movie is more of an adaptation. That word suggests your interpretation of the material and that’s exactly what the uncharted movie is they took stuff from the games but made their own story with it. Now The Last Of Us show is more of tribute to the games. The games are so good and beloved they want to get every detail right to the point of a one to one recreation.

and yes last if us claimed they wanted to be accurate but every single episode makes changes from the game that make the story worse......

Just a recommendation, you guys should watch extraction movie because i reckon you you two will love action, awesome choreograph fight scenes aswell as the story too, it must watch sort of movie.

This is what I love about their reactions, they have fun with just about everything they watch. This isn't a great adaptation in my opinion but it was still fun to watch.
I've played the Uncharted games so many times and they just changed plot lines with characters that I wasn't a fan of but that's Hollywood. Also I hate Mark Wahlberg as Sully 😅

Believe it or not *[that has smartassery written all over it, by the way, lol],* there are quite a few of us in the world who are not only able to enjoy a wide variety of movies, even those that are objectively bad in numerous ways, but who don't have closed-minded, uncompromising, and hypocritical attitudes or approaches to films they watch, not to mention who can watch a movie, have personal critics of the film, but still enjoy the movie and not jump to “this movie is terrible” like so many people often do nowadays.

In the game the first time that Sully an Nate meet Nate has probably 15 or 16 and it was in Cartagena Colombia when he was looking for his ring.
First off, I’d like to say that I really like y’all videos! I just started watching you guys probably a week ago and I have watched too many videos to admit in that timeframe😂 but I would really like to know if you guys have seen The impossible with Tom Holland and Naomi Watts. If not, I highly recommend it I own it and have seen it multiple times and still love it and get emotional. I’m currently watching it again! I’d love to see you guys react to it, especially Nikki! Movies and Shows have been my outlet since I was a young kid, so I have tons of comfort shows and movies, There’s so many I’d like you guys to watch. 😆 but I definitely suggest The impossible it would make a depressed girl very happy! 😊💓
If you wanted to check out any of Tom Hollands other movies I would absolutely recommend The Impossible. It's one of his earliest movies but his performance is outstanding. I would recommend having a box of tissues with you when you watch it though.

The 2018 Tomb Raider movie has been a point of contention, but I really enjoyed it, and it's similar to Uncharted with the whole puzzle aspects and chasing mysteries. If you guys haven't seen it, I'd love to see you react to it!
I liked it as an adventure movie, but it screwed around so much with a perfectly good premise and established character traits that it wasn't a Tomb Raider movie. I didn't need a perfect recreation of the games (I have the games for that) I just don't know why they had to mess with it.

This was a pretty solid adaptaion in my opinion. The only thing that would have made the Nolan North cameo better is if Richard McGonagle and Claudia Black(Sully's and Chloe's VAs in the games) had been sitting next to him.
I honestly really enjoyed this movie. For a video game adaptation it was really good.

The ship was in the fourth game and there was not a shootout in it unless you were talking about the shootout in the boat at the beginning of first game or in the big boat at the end of the first game

It's a fun movie, all the backlash it had was because it was attached to the Uncharted franchise. Had it come out of his own, it would have just been a decent movie.
120 million dollar budget made 401 million it did well and is successful so I’m sure Sony is wanting to do more
everyone in the comments are saying how terrible this movie is but i actually really like it. I played all the uncharted games one like either on release day or in that week of it coming out and of course it wont be as good as the games but I still thought it was well made. The action and everything is really good. And alot of ppl hate it because the film has Tom Holland in it but Tom is a really good actor so just stop hating on him and every film he's in

This movie does such a great job of maintaining the feel of a video game. Some of the shots, even the effects. So well done
It's not a great Uncharted adaptation but it's definitely a fun adventure movie that I thoroughly enjoyed multiple times by now. I just need to refrain from comparing it to the games. It strays too far aways from those, especially with Nathan Drake. Tom Holland just doesn't fit the character at all.

Time i saw the first trailer for this movie, I knew it would be all over the place. The problem I had was they called this Uncharted, this isn't Uncharted, its a bland action adventure movie with little respect to the supposed source material.

As a diehard fan of the games, some of the changes they made were inexcusable. Like the opening scene. There is an established timeline. Period. Drake BARELY made it out of that incident alive in Uncharted 3 when he was well into his 30s and I'm supposed to believe as a 20 year old he made it out? Not a chance. Also, the script that was written for Holland is nothing like Drake, and again, I'll point to the opening line. He says "oh my god I'm so sorry." Drake hates henchmen, even since he was a kid. You can tell by the look on Holland's face that it was meant as a genuine apology. Drake would NEVER say such a thing. The only sorries he says are sarcastic ones and again, based on Holland's performance right there, it seems like that was supposed to be genuine.
It just feels like this film was made only for the purposes of riding on the brand name that is Uncharted. Like it's Uncharted only in name. It bares little resemblance to the actual games other than mixing around the adventures he has out of the established timeline and the characters themselves don't share a lot of the MAJOR traits from their video game counterparts. I mean they hardly look like them either, and I don't mean like literally their face doesn't match the characters. I mean I can only tell Holland is Drake when he's wearing the typical tan shirt and holsters and at no point if I didn't already know Mark Wahlberg was Sully would I be able to tell he's Sully. I mean he has no mustache for most of the film which that alone is unforgivable. The mustache is a part of the characters identity and even when he first met Drake, he had the stache.
Mainly I think it comes down to the age of the actors. No one wanted a young Nathan Drake film. Mark is also just way too young to be Sully. He wasn't grey yet when he first met Drake but he was at least older than Mark looks at any point in this film. The fan made short starring Nathan Fillion - that was made by the director of District 9 - is the film fans wanted and it's the film we should have gotten. It would have been so much better, but the studio wanted to use Holland who is like the biggest young male actor right now or at the time of filming, and they wanted to sell tickets using his name, as well as the Uncharted name. If they made changes, they should have made the kind of changes The Last of Us show made that enhanced the story by being different, but weren't so different to make fans be like, wtf is this, which is what I felt watching Uncharted.
I mean I'm sure as I've read here in the comments that some fans like it but to me this is really a film made for people who didn't play the games. It was meant to be enjoyed by those people, but used the Uncharted name to sell tickets to them AND fans of the series, with many of them having since voiced that the movie seriously missed the mark. In the same way that the Assassin's Creed film was really meant to be enjoyed by people who didn't play the game whereas the fans of the game were obvious going to be let down (I mean that film had serious problems with the script but nevertheless). Holland is a great actor, and he might have been able to play a silver screen reflection of Drake if the script he was given for the character actually resembled Drake from the games. I don't however, know how anyone can enjoy this film as being based on the games, after realizing that the SOLE reason Tom Holland is even in the his, was to sell tickets because of how big a name he was/is at the time of filming.
this is a studio movie, hire 2 charismatic stars and butcher the story of the games by taking bullet points and piecing them together and hope the causals clap like seals...
