Chewy Peanut Butter Bars - only 6 ingredients!

- Chewy Peanut Butter Bars
1/2 cup (1 stick) butter
1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
1 1/2 cups sugar
1 cup all-purpose flour
2 eggs, lightly beaten
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
*powdered sugar to dust on top, if desired
In a large saucepan, melt the butter and peanut butter. Remove from the heat; gradually add sugar and flour and mix well. Stir in the eggs and vanilla.
Spread into a greased 13 x 9” baking pan.
Bake at 350° for 28 to 32 minutes or until lightly browned and the edges start to pull away from the sides of the pan.
Dust with powdered sugar on top after the bars have completely cooled, if desired.

Did you know that peanut butter is kind of rare and unknown in Italy, Switzerland, Austria…My Italian friend took home a suitcase full of Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups. When I lived in Europe, and made a trip to The States, I brought jars of Jif back as gifts.

Take it up a notch, add a a peanut butter glaze. 1/4 c peanut butter melted in a saucepan, add 1 cup powdered sugar, teaspoon of vanilla, and a little bit of milk, maybe a tablespoon or two. spread over peanut butter bars. Love your recipes, my sweet tooth really appreciates you two. Thanks.

This was an easy and simple recipe for a blind cook such as myself. I was running low on white sugar so I substituted 1/2 c. brown sugar. I also added a handful of chocolate chips. YUM! Thanks for sharing.

I got this recipe off a bag of White Lily flour many, many years ago. My favorite recipe for chewy peanut butter bars. So easy to make and goes great with a cup of coffee.

@@denickite I really was concerned about no leavening agent too. I made them yesterday they came OK but I would prefer them with a bit of rising I think - they are dense and chewy for sure.

All eggs are brown in Australia and our butter is really yellow compared to overseas butter.

You do a good job, my husband refuses to cook. I have watched a few of your videos and I appreciate that you scrape out your cans and bowls. (waste not want not). I agree with others if you knew what happens in restaurants you wouldn't eat there. Use your hands and scrape your utensils with your finger, so many of us do the same. Love watching you.

I watched this today and made these tonight... sounded irresistible! I melted cold butter and peanut butter together in microwave for 1 minute. Used a batter bowl. Worked perfect! When they came out of the oven, I covered 1/2 of the pan with chocolate chips and stuck them back in the oven (turned off) for a minute, then spread the chocolate with a spoon. Yum!! Thank you for this delicious and easy recipe!!

I made a half batch of these bars. They are absolutely addictive! Since you mentioned the PB-chocolate connection, I added milk chocolate chips to mine. You could also add semi-sweet or PB chips. Great recipe and so easy to make with ingredients in every home.

I also made your cinnamon bread. I made it in a savarin pan so it was more like a cake and frosted it with brown sugar frosting. It was a HUGE hit at the prayer shawl ministry meeting at church.
I'm guessing your batter was too hot. I changed the order of adding ingredients to melt butter and PB just until melted. Don't overheat. Add sugar, then eggs and vanilla, then flour, then chocolate chips. If the mixture is too hot before adding the chips, let it cool just a bit.@@akankecai

Every time he tastes his dish, he does a little dance because it's so good. You should do that too! LOL.
