This is useful for people with eczema cause I myself have severe eczema and have flare ups often. I tried 100000000 soap All of them were chemicals. Finally gonna make my own soap
I can imagine the creamy lather this soup gives. I haven't braved myself to explore into soap making yet by I can see myself following this recipe in the future.
Hey Marie. Love the soap...Does the oatmeal have to be done overnight? Can't it be adequately softened in about an 45 min to an hour since the water is boiling hot? Can the lye be added to oils and melted via heat transfer method? And lastly, can Sodium Lactate be added as well...I'm anxious to try!
Sweet almond oil doesn't really smell like anything. I recommend checking out this formula: www.humblebeeandme.com/almond-oat-natural-body-lotion/. Happy making!
I really can't say something is "for" a medical condition like eczema as I'm not a doctor, but if I were you I'd try my recent Gentle Oatmeal Almond Body Wash Bar (www.humblebeeandme.com/gentle-oatmeal-almond-body-wash-bar/) :) Happy making!
Well, my first thought is that I'll leave the soap making to the DIY soap-maker pros. Serious skills go into this and I now have a new found respect for soap makers. Though I haven't really ever given thought to what goes into homemade soap making. Lye is sorta scary, and beef tallow/lard.. regardless, this was an interesting video to watch. The end result looks lovely, and yeah, next time I'm at Whole Foods, I'm going to buy up some homemade soap. Thank you Miss Marie, for the detailed tutorial. Oh, and yes indeed, that mold your dad made for your soaps is super cool, dude's got skills, guess you're a chip off the ol' block.. 🤗
Definitely another great recipe I want to try! Two questions. I like unscented soaps, but still cringe when that "fatty" sort of smell assaults my nose, which happened in the first days of my soap making journey. Back then I used more canola oil. :( Does this recipe have a "clean" but no fragrance sort of smell? (I like the way clays can help with that.) The second question is about the steel cut oats. Did you find they blended up smoothly enough after soaking and then adding the lye water? Your batter looks very smooth and creamy. Did that take a lot of blending off camera? Cannot wait to try this! Honey might be a nice addition, but I'd probably have to put it in the fridge. Thanks again for another winner recipe!
i find that if you just put a small amount (say .5% ) of an essential oil like rosemary or lavender that takes away the "fatty" smell without giving it a strong fragrance as such. these are my favourite type of soaps as i hate the super smelly ones!
I don’t know if I’m understanding this right, but to make the oatmeal water blend, do you just add 10g of oats to that water? Assuming you only use 500g of oils I mean
a good tip i learnt from an experienced soapmaking is to add water to the clay before adding it. it does seem help to dissolve the smaller lumpy bits and integrate more smoothly.
I normally "predisperse" clay in melted oils before adding NaOH/H2O. Saves a step and don't have to figure a water discount. Marie used a huge amount of clay, it would've taken a lot of water...

Hi Marie. I follow you on all your social media. Recently you mentioned a series you were reading that you compared to Maisie Dobbs. I can't find the post and wanted to read the books. Please reply with the name of the books, author or the character. Thanks bunches. Love your videos. Keep 'em coming!

You are not using distilled water ?
I can feel the creamy & soft texture of this soap. Love the idea of lye mixing directly in the oats water. Will make one dear💗😊
Thank you so much! ❤️

Thanks for watching! ❤️
The swirl came from when you mix the clay with it it produces a swirl trace..
Hi Marie. What temperature did you add the lye to the oat? And what temperature did you add the lye solution to the oils please
I do everything at room temperature, roughly 20°C.
@@HumblebeeAndMe thank you so much.
I made your Hemp oil soap yesterday, turned out great. Thank you.
Does the sweet almond oil make the soap smell like almond? I'm trying to find a natural way to make an almond scent.

"beef tallow/lard..." what's wrong with using these in soap?
Wow it’s beautiful 😻🤩🥰

Can you please make strawberry Soap

Hi Maria..Nice vedio but the Sodium hydroxide does not burn oat milk
Oat milk doesn't contain the sugars present in dairy milks that scorch in soaping :)

May I know why don’t you need preservative in soap? If this silly forget me, because I’m very new to soap making.
This is one of the many things covered in the partner blog post :) Please read it!
In cold/melt & pour it's not needed because the pH prevents any mold or bacteria. Blessings
My 1st thought was once it hardens it'll lighten
I don’t understand the measurements please help
