You're welcome Sarrel, I'm sorry for the delay. I just got wrapped up with the cooks because those are so much more fun to do. But also I did want to use it for a while so I could give a fair and honest review.
Hey Frank thanks for being #1. I love my Camp Chef griddle and do believe it's better than the Blackstone ones based of research and the design. That being said I don't own a Blackstone so take it with a grain of salt. Also I'm sure I would enjoy a Blackstone and still be able to make great food. If you haven't seen it I'll link the video for why I choose Camp Chef. As for the accessories, I don't have a preference at this time. A spatula is a spatula and a weight is a weight, I'm comfortable with any brand. Thanks Frank.
Great content. I'm stuck using a digital folding probe thermometer. I got for a little over $10 bucks because I'm cheap and can't get the infrared $$$ just yet. I use it mainly for checking inside the meats but I just lay the probe on the griddle to check griddle service temp. Takes a while and not the greatest.
Thanks Kenny. I understand being cheap that's the story of my life lol. Ya once you get an infrared it really helps though. Just gotta put it on your Christmas list this year and start dropping hints to the family 😂
I was just about ready to buy one... Nah...I like my welding infrared laser and I have a small griddle (21") right now so that might get in the way. Thanks for the heads up. Oh Blu cheese burgers.....what time will they be ready?
Ya I definitely don't think you need one for a 21" especially if you already have an infrared. And I'll let you know when the blue cheese burgers are ready, just finishing the bacon! hahaha
Hello Erica, I'm not familiar with what emissivity is. But I didn't adjust anything I just opened it up and put it on the griddle. Thanks for watching.
@@JohnnyBrunet thanks for the reply. The Emissivity setting is on your IR gun to basically tell the tool what type surface you are pointing it at. I think the default setting is .95 or .94. In any case, you answered my question :) One other… do you find your IR gun to be accurate? Thanks again for your response and your videos; they are really helping me get started with my griddling!
@@Marshallbat19 thanks for the explanation I learned something new now. Yes I do find the gun to be accurate, I can't say to the degree accuracy or verify anything like that. But I can say my food cooks appropriately at the temps I get. Everything operates just like it does at my work on a commercial flat top. I'm glad you've found my videos helpful and thank you so much for watching. If you have any more questions feel free to ask.
Hello Alison here is the link for the two thermometers. Like I said in the video I use the infrared one a lot more than the surface one. So that's the one I would recommend the most. Thanks for watching. Surface Thermometer : amzn.to/2UNfcXX Infrared Thermometer: amzn.to/2UWuxVR
Just bought the Blackstone 22 and a infrared thermometer. On low it’s reading 550 or higher on all areas of the cooking surface. I’m afraid to cook mostly everything at that temperature. Anyone else have this problem?
oh good. Ya I just helped my buddy season his brand new two burner blackstone. It got up the 550 as well but we had it pretty high. I'm glad your fajitas turned out, let me know if you have any more questions and congrats on the new griddle.
I have an infrared and it is still very hard to control the temp. First of all the temp is different depending on how far the thermometer is from the grill. Then the middle of the griddle is always hotter than the outside edges or the outside burners. Very difficult.
Ya I agree Austin it can be very difficult. I still struggle with it. Here is a video of how I get my griddle to temp. It's definitely not perfect but hopefully it will help. th-cam.com/video/wohFblZYMaE/w-d-xo.html
The infrared thermometer is only as accurate as the knowledge of the user. You must find the emissivity level of you surface for an accurate reading. Id go with the touch thermometer
I have been waiting on this review since you first started to you it. Thanks for your honesty

I bought the Amazon Choice Cuisinart one for $7.33 after watching one of your Videos and I love it!!!
Awesome! I'm glad you like it. I like mine a lot too.
Well! We would touch it too, I’m sure of that. Thanks for the review
You're welcome.
Do infrared thermometers work when using induction (magnetic) cooktops?
I don't know for sure Darin but I don't think so.
@Johnny Brunet Thank you for your response, Johnny. I'm not finding anything conclusive on the Internet, yet. The search continues...
@@Darin.Pearson you're welcome and good luck!
I really like my infrared thermometer. Since you shouldn't put anything metal on the e-series griddle I'll stay with the infrared!
Ya I definitely wouldn't use this on the e series. That's a good call Guy.
@@JohnnyBrunet I'll keep looking cause I am sure there is another griddle toy that I need!

Hi Ryan,
Ya that's extremely hot and no you don't really want to cook anything at that temperature. How long are you letting it heat up?

I'm sure I would make the mistake of touching the thermometer too.😊
