I've been a Bible student for 53 years and have always found it to be without error as my ethical "plumb line". Beyond that, I find the Bible with its Christ to be an unerring spiritual compass. A man will never ruin his life by honest inquiry and application of the Bible.
Its accounts of lives teach how God works with our best and worst behaviors.
Redemption, forgiveness, reconciliation to God, spiritual regeneration, and assurance of Glory come to the repentant and faithful person.

Look man, I get the beliefs you have. I was raised with them and believed them without a doubt for 20ish years. But then I got out of the bubble and started learning a whole lot more about history and the world.
Christianity is a doomsday cult. No different than all the other doomsday cults that hold up "prophesies" and "evidence" that the world is always perpetually going to end.
The bible has Jesus claiming the end would come within the lifetimes of the generation he was hanging out with....2000 years ago.
Since then, generation after generation after generation of Christians lived and died convinced that Jesus' return was going to happen within their lifetime.
Look at the wars, and the rumors of wars. Look at people being selfish. Look at man's inhumanity to man. Look at the famines and floods. Look at children disobeying parents. Look at people joining and leaving the church. Read these other vague prophecies and make them apply to things you see today. How can anyone deny Jesus is coming back any day now?
      2000 years and counting.
Wake up man. You're in a doomsday cult.

Ron Kelmell Here is a few examples of the perfections of the bible you eluded to:
      26. Who carried “the cross”? Matthew 27:32, Mark 15:21 and Luke 23:26 agree that Simon of Cyrene assisted Jesus, carrying the cross at least part of the way to the hill. John 19:17 counters these three accounts saying that only Jesus carried the cross.
      27. At what time was Jesus crucified? Mark 15:25 says it was the third hour (9:00 A.M.), John 19-14-15 says he was crucified at the sixth hour (noon).
      28. Crucified between two ____? Matthew 27:38 and Mark 15:27 say that Jesus was crucified between two thieves (Luke 23:32 just calls them criminals; John 19:18 simply calls them men). It is a historical fact that the Romans did not crucify robbers; crucifixion was exclusively reserved by law for insurrectionists and rebellious slaves.
      29. Did Jesus drink, if so, what did he drink? Matthew 27:34 says he drank wine mixed with gall. Mark 15:23 insists that Jesus was offered wine mixed with myrrh, but he did not drink. Luke does not say whether he drank or not, only that he was offered vinegar (or sour wine, see Luke 23:36). John 19:29-30 agrees that it was indeed vinegar, but attests that Jesus accepted the drink.
      30. John and the mother of Jesus near the cross - When Matthew 27:39-49 and John 19:25-27 mention Jesus talking to his mother and John, and others speaking with Jesus or deriding him while on the cross, they run afoul of another historical fact. Roman soldiers closely guarded the places of execution, and nobody was allowed near (least of all friends and family who might attempt to help the condemned). In agreement with the historical record, but in contradiction to Matthew and John’s record, Mark 15:40-41 and Luke 27:49 place these people afar off.
      31. What were Jesus’ last words before he died? Matthew 27:46 and Mark 15:34 agree that he said, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani (My Elohim, my Elohim, why hast thou forsaken me?). Luke (who admittedly was not at the scene) records, “Father, into Your hands I commit my spirit” as Jesus’ final utterance, see Luke 23:46. John 19:30, offering a final look into this matter counters that Jesus’ last words were, “It is finished.”
      32. Had the sun risen before the women arrived at the tomb? Toward dawn (Matthew 28:1) and Luke’s version, At early dawn (Luke 24:1) are very similar. From here the wheels fall off. Mark 16:2 says they arrived, When the sun had risen. In disagreement, John 20:1 says it was still dark.
      33. Who found the empty tomb? According to Matthew 28:1, only “Mary Magdalene and the other Mary found the empty tomb.” According to Mark 16:1, it was three women: “Mary Magdalene, Mary (the mother of James) and Salome.” According to Luke 23:55, 24:1 and 24:10, it was “the women who had come with him out of Galilee.” Among these women were “Mary Magdalene and Joanna and Mary the mother of James.” Luke indicates in verse 24:10 that there were at least two others. According to John 20:1-4, Mary Magdalene went to the tomb alone, saw the stone removed, ran to find Peter then and returned to the tomb with Peter and another disciple. Four gospels, four different answers. This is not good.
      34. Who did they find at the tomb? According to Matthew 28:2-4, an angel of the Lord with an appearance like lightning was sitting on the stone that had been rolled away. Also present were the guards that Pilate had contributed. On the way back from the tomb the women meet Jesus (Matthew 28:9). According to Mark 16:5, one young man in a white robe was sitting inside the tomb. According to Luke 24:4, two men standing in dazzling apparel. It is not clear if the men were inside the tomb or outside of it. According to John 20:4-14, Mary and Peter and the other disciple initially find just an empty tomb. Peter and the other disciple enter the tomb and find only the wrappings. Then Peter and the other disciple leave and Mary looks in the tomb to find two angels in white. After a short conversation with the angels, Mary turns around to find Jesus. Four gospels, four different answers. This is also not good.
      35. Was the stone removed when the woman arrived at the tomb? Mark 16:4, Luke 24:2 and John 20:1 are in agreement that the stone was indeed rolled away when they got there. Matthew 28:1-2 counters these three accounts saying, no, that after the women arrived, the angel rolled away the stone.
      36. Who did the women tell about the empty tomb? According to Mark 16:8, “they said nothing to anyone.” According to Matthew 28:8, they “ran to report it to His disciples.” According to Luke 24:9, “they reported these things to the eleven and to all the rest.” According to John 20:18, Mary Magdalene announces to the disciples that she has seen the Lord.
      37. Where did the Ascension take place? According to Luke 24, Jesus’ ascension took place in Bethany, three days after his resurrection. According to Acts 1:1-12, Jesus’ ascension took place at Mount Olivet, forty days after his resurrection. [NOTE: The Acts of the Apostles and the gospel of Luke are thought to be written by the SAME PERSON!]
      38. The Book of Acts contains three accounts of Paul’s conversion on the road to Damascus. All of three accounts contradict each other regarding what happened to Paul’s fellow travelers. 1. Acts 9:7 says they all “stood speechless, hearing the voice...”. 2. Acts 22:9 says they “did not hear the voice...”. 3. Acts 26:14 says “when we had all fallen to the ground...”
Some translations of the Bible (the New International Version and the New American Standard, for example) try to remove the contradiction in Acts 22:9 by translating the phrase quoted above as “did not understand the voice...” However, the Greek word “akouo” is translated 373 times in the New Testament as “hear,” “hears,” “hearing” or “heard” and only in Acts 22:9 is it translated as “understand.” In fact, it is the same word that is translated as “hearing” in Acts 9:7, quoted above. The word “understand” occurs 52 times in the New Testament, but only in Acts 22:9 is it translated from the Greek word “akouo.”
This is yet another example of translators sacrificing intellectual honesty and spiritual integrity in an attempt to reconcile conflicting passages in the New Testament.
      39. The Second Coming - There are several passages in the gospels where Jesus says he will return in the disciples’ lifetime (Mark 13:30, Matthew 10:23, 16:28, 24:34, Luke 21:32, etc.). The same expectation is held by Paul in his letters. In 1 Corinthians 7:29-31 Paul says that the time is so short that believers should drastically change the way that they live. But Paul had a problem - some believers had already died, so what would happen to them when Jesus returned?
Paul’s answer in 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 shows that Paul expected that at least some of those he was writing to would be alive when Jesus returned - “we who are alive, and remain...” The same passage also indicates that Paul believed that those believers who had died remained “asleep in Jesus” until he returned. However, as the delay in Jesus’ return grew longer, the location of Jesus’ kingdom shifted from earth to heaven and the timeframe was extended indefinitely. [NOTE: Earth is where the kingdom will be set up according to the Law and the Prophets. In no passage are the righteous “going to heaven” in the Hebrew Old Testament.]
It is quite obvious that Jesus never intended to start any type of church structure since he believed he would return very shortly to rule his kingdom in person. It is also quite obvious that Jesus was (or his followers were) wrong about when he was coming back.
      40. The differences between Jesus’ and Paul’s Gospels - The gospel that Jesus and his disciples proclaimed to the Jews was in accordance with what the Old Testament predicted about a human Messiah reigning over a restored kingdom of Israel, a kingdom of peace and righteousness. The people of Israel were to repent as personal righteousness was necessary to become a member of the kingdom.
In contrast to Jesus’ gospel was the gospel preached to the Jews and gentiles by the apostle Paul, which Paul refers to as “my gospel” (Romans 2:16, 16:25, II Timothy 2:8) and “the gospel that I preach” (Galatians 2:2) to differentiate it from what was being proclaimed by the disciples. In Paul’s gospel the human Messiah became a divine Saviour of all nations, the restored kingdom of Israel became a heavenly kingdom, and admittance to the kingdom was based on faith rather than personal righteousness.
The two gospels caused great animosity between Paul and the original apostles, an animosity that is played down in the books of Acts and Galatians, but which still shows through in several places. When Jerusalem was destroyed by the Romans in 70 AD the “christians” in Jerusalem were all scattered or killed, so the opposition to the gospel of Paul was largely eliminated. The gospel of Paul was incorporated into the gospel of Jesus, in many cases supplanting it. For the record: the foundation of the Catholic Church is based upon the doctrines of Paul.

I think the story of my tribe the Efik of Southern Nigeria should be of interest to many. Back in the 16th/17th centuries when my ancestors made contact with European missionaries, they (my ancestors) were confronted with the story of the bible, of an Almighty God and of His Son who came to rescue humanity from his sins and the story goes that my people reacted with joy, telling the missionaries that they too knew of that God whom we call Abasi-Ibom and recognised also that He was too holy and too pure to relate directly with humanity. For which reason, they claimed, our ancestors only had the intermediary or lesser gods to relate with, and these were more like us humans and appeared pleased by human sacrifice, trial by ordeal, killing of twins and so on.
When the missionaries expounded more on Christ and His loving mercy and kindness, my ancestors ditched their lessor gods and those practices and turned to the God of the bible. It warms my heart that this was the response of an aboriginal people whereas present day man has grown so cocky, uppitty and arrogant that he feels he has no need of God.
Well, the bible has all that covered because we see in our behaviours today the fallouts from the first temptation of our earthly parents. They were lured to rebel against God with the promise that their EYES would be open and they would SEE and be as GODS!! Well, coming from the very one the bible calls “the father of Lies” it’s no surprise the outcome was the precise opposite. Mankind became blind and secondly grew to think he was his own god and could make up his rules as he goes. Perfect depiction of today’s human condition - and yet all of this was captured so comprehensively in a book supposedly written by ignorant goat-herders-!!! Wow, some goat-herders!! Why, they even captured in the first line of the first book and chapter the three-fold composite of the fabric of our universe: time, space and matter!!! In the beginning (time) God made the heavens (space) and the earth (matter)!! Genesis 1:1. Way back when medicine still believed in bloodletting, it’s author could divine things that modern science was having difficulty figuring out: use of quarantine in cases of communicable diseases, washing with running water when disinfecting hands, springs under the ocean and even that the earth was circular and hung upon nothing.
Assuming I was the worst seeker of truth out there and saw a half of these in any one source, wouldn’t I at least pause and wonder at such book?! So, yes, dear Jordan Peterson, the bible is TRUE, it’s just our blindness and cockiness that prevents us from seeing!!!

@@amir.r1639 I have read the quran and hadiths many times and first of all the quran has been corrupted and is not the same from the beginning. This happend just after mohameds death when there where multiple versions of the quran and the muslims were very close to civil war because they thought their version was the right one. Then Uthman, wanting no civil war, decided to burn all versions of quran and chose just one to be the "correct" one and let all muslims come and copy it.
Secondly there is no logic in God chosing a man like mohamed as His prophet. He was a war general thay forced people to convert and let non believers pay higher taxes. He married a 6 year old kid. He owned slaves. He let those who insulted him be executed. He executed 800 jews. He encouraged his men to rape enslaved women even if they were already married. He allowed his men mut'a (pay for prostitution). He promised 72 virgins in paradise if you did jihad (what?). The angel Gabriel in the OT and to the mother of God Mary came peacefully saying "Do not fear". To mohamrd he came aggresively saying to him "RECITE".
I'm sorry but after reading it multiple times there is just no logic or love behind it.
Also, the Bible said there would be many false prophets and whoever, even if its an angel, spreads a different Gospel than the one they have teached us then let that one be accursed (Galatians 1:8-9).
Even though you have been lied to and its scary for you to change what you have learned all your life there is still hope for you to come to the truth, you just have to overcome your fear ❤

I have heard Jordan Peterson talk about the bible and his beliefs before and it did help me on my own quest for answers and understanding. I was raised a catholic in a large family (6 kids) and went to catholic schools, most run by the Christian Bros. I'm in my 60s now, my early exposure to Catholicism was back in what I would describe as the remnants of the the fire and brimstone period, particularly with the Christian Bros. I still remember the latin mass although they were becoming far more rare. My parents installed in us strong moral values which I still live by although obviously reinforced/moulded by my own life experiences and learnings but that substantial core is still there.
I started to move away from the church after my wife died of breast cancer (she was only 35 at the time and our two children were both very young). After about 10 to 15 years I went close to becoming an apostate and had my own demons to deal with. Around that time I did a lot of research on the bible and Jesus and whether the bible was true and whether a historical/supernatural Jesus ever existed. And the historical evidence (outside of the bible) is somewhere between nothing and almost nothing. I felt safe in pronouncing it all not true, although I could not shake off the feeling that God did exist.
I also remembered how much strength we found through God, my wife in particular, to bare our yoke when she was sick and dying. She had found peace and acceptance when it was obvious short of a miracle that she was going to die. A sacred heart priest at the time said to us that "this might sound like a get out of jail free card for god" but genuine miracles are few and far between. One night towards the end I was lying in bed next to her and asking God for a miracle, that it wasn't fair she should die so young. Then it hit me like a rock, that there were millions upon millions of people around the world in a similar or perhaps worse position, all asking for their miracle, what made us so special that we should get ours?
Anyway about 5 years back I listen to Jordan Peterson speaking about the bible and his journey. It helped me solidify my own personal understanding and relationship with God and what the real power of the bible is. I'm sure others may disagree, actually I'm sure others will disagree, however we all have our own truths to some extent and what we want to accept on faith, our own path in this life. But for me it was no longer whether the bible was literally true or not, for me it no longer mattered whether Jesus was born of the virgin Mary or not. It didn't matter for example how we got the ten commandments but rather what the ten commandments say. The power of the bible is the message it contains. A blueprint for life and living in a morally ambiguous world, a way for finding God for those that choose to listen, the word of God. I know John 1:14 has a particular meaning and the “Word became flesh", that Jesus is fully God and fully man and it also implies that Jesus has fulfilled all Old Testament prophecies. But for me it has a duel meaning, that we should embody the word in our own lives, to strive to be more Christ like in how we choose to live.
Sorry for the length of my musings, it has been a cathartic exercise for me, thanks for your patience. Peace and Love.

Thankyou for the life experience. I too was raised Catholic and went 6 years to Catholic grade school. We actually went to church in some third world countries and saw real live beggars sitting on the porches at Cathedrals. It was alot like Peter’s experience in Acts when he told the beggars to “look at us.” I remember my mother shuffling us into the building telling us not to talk to them or touch them. I remember the beggars would not look you in the eye. I remember going into some of the most beautiful buildings, ornate, impressive, architectural marvels that you just don’t see being built anymore. The experiences I had taught me to fear God. I learned to respect His power. We were five children in those days and unfortunately, only two of us have much interest in Christ. I’m quite sure that I’m the only one of us who is born again at this point. I think the evidence is convincing in that I’m the only one who delights in God and the things of God. When Paul talks about the “washing and regeneration and renewing of the Holy Ghost,” it resonates with me because He saved my life. When he says, “if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature, old things have passed away, all things have become new,” it strikes a precise chord in my soul. What I came to know about Christ and his love for humanity could only be known through a written word empowered by a Spirit.
Christ did a few miracles for me before I repented however, I think your priest is right about that rarity. I was lost in addiction to nicotine, drugs and alcohol after I left high school and entered into my adult years never able to be satisfied with what I occupied to do with my life, I was quite sure that my addictions were causing the problem so I battled with them for 15 years laying them down and picking them back up again. I found that I could force myself to quit, the only problem was that I was completely miserable and unhappy without them. The vicious cycle of sin had me a servant to it. 😞 There was a lot going on in my life and God was dealing with my sin. One night he opened my eyes to the gospel with a preachers presentation of the true gospel, “Christ died for our sins according to the scripture.” He then miraculously gave me motivation to lay down these addictions and be happy without them. After studying and reading it for months, and going to the local New Testament church down the road I began to feel a connection to him that I’d never felt before. He was actually interested in my life and willing to help. I could no longer deny the vileness that was in me, the perversion that existed in my heart was being revealed. He was showing me that I dishonored him with my life and my thoughts. He led me to repentance.
At this stage in my life I’m quite sure that the Word of God is sure and steadfast, not only true but literal in most cases. It must be properly divided in its context to be able to do us the utmost good. “Therefore study, to show thyself approved, a workmen that needeth not be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” - there are many retractors and evil men who use critical literary analysis to pick it apart and prove contradiction. Fair enough! But you never hear them talk about the amazing unity of the Bible through its 4 thousand year period of inspiration. Men didn’t have writing seminars at their disposal in Moses day. Their weren’t phonics teachers and grammatical how to books to follow. Honestly for me, if their weren’t contradictions in the gospels I would see them as contrived. I think the real motive that commissions men to doubt the reality of God speaking to mankind through his Word is the guilt that it makes them feel. When the law of love and justice is applied to the natural mans condition he runs from it, especially when it’s lawgiver is able to see inside the soul and discern every nook and cranny of deceitfulness therein. It is also thrice hated when that lawgiver is the ultimate judge of men’s deeds.
I’ll leave you with this, although you may not need it. What motive did the Jews have for penning the Holy Writ, considering their propensity to backslide and use cunning trickery to advance themselves. What would cause them to have a codified history of their own shame?
And again, what caused the early church to write about their experiences with Jesus and the monumental failure that each person saw in his own character? Indeed, “we are the offscouring of all things,” and “sheep counted for slaughter.” 🎚. Nay to the gainsayer says I, men wouldn’t have wrote it if they could and couldn’t have wrote it if they would. In my examination of the matter, I see no motive that would cause men to fake such a thing. 👊🏻

The horrible things they done and the manipulation the Romans did to the catho.ic religion is unrepresentative of what it was supposed to mean , they burned thousands of year of history just to create a fear based control goaded religion where now we are starting to see the light and believe that they wro g wrong to do so and to erase women in places of power . We seem to agree that ther is a part of God in us all and we are all apart of God and we are more powerful than them Romans wanted us to know , our beliefs create us ans so can destroy us. But if we believe hard enough our belief in healing will heal us with help from the part of God in side us all in our hearts and souls. I also see the lack of evidence of Jesus as proof he is a medifor and a lesson to teach us about the presence of God nothing more nothing less 💯🤙The Romans wanted us stupid and obedient and not as powerful as is possible. 👌🤙

@@PaceWorks I'm glad you said that, you may be susceptible to the message illuminism wants you to hear, care for a discussion? You will need to pick a side for this discussion. With religion out the way, you have 2 choices to make. Choice A = Scientific Materialism and Empiricism, Choice B = Rational Idealism. The former being that existence is random, nothing matters, there are no gods, and the universe is completely material. The latter being that we are the gods, the universe is mental, and through the power of mind you can know existence and what it is through logic and reason, as the great philosophers have done throughout history. choose your side. You are a Materialist or an idealist. I am on the side of idealism where we have every reason to believe (know), that science is lying, as is indeed a belief system of its own, the belief in the flawed human senses.

@@PaceWorks the thing you need to realize about god is, not only is the god of the Bible actually me, the demiurge, but also, god does indeed exist within us all. All of us are God's in the making, we are potential Gods going through the actualization phase, the universe is our playground, and this planet has a purpose. But the unfortunate fact is that 99% of humanity is blinded by faith and science and they lack the intellectual components to see higher, they don't have proper logic and reason to guide them so they fall pret to shit like this. Religion is sickening and it's killing this planet with it's hateful separating function. For the world to get better humanity has to wise up and stop believing in these retarded claims and accept existence as it is, they don't have the rational faculties to think critically because we don't have proper education systems.

God said in Quran about Jesus (pbuh) and the bible :
"And We did certainly give Moses the Torah and followed up after him with messengers. And We gave Jesus, the son of Mary, clear proofs and supported him with the Pure Spirit. But is it [not] that every time a messenger came to you, [O Children of Israel], with what your souls did not desire, you were arrogant? And a party [of messengers] you denied and another party you killed."
Say, [O believers], “We have believed in Allah and what has been revealed to us and what has been revealed to Abraham and Ishmael and Isaac and Jacob and the Descendants and what was given to Moses and Jesus and what was given to the prophets from their Lord. We make no distinction between any of them, and we are Muslims [in submission] to Him.” (2:136)
"Those messengers - some of them We caused to exceed others. Among them were those to whom Allah spoke, and He raised some of them in degree. And We gave Jesus, the Son of Mary, clear proofs, and We supported him with the Pure Spirit. If Allah had willed, those [generations] succeeding them would not have fought each other after the clear proofs had come to them. But they differed, and some of them believed and some of them disbelieved. And if Allah had willed, they would not have fought each other, but Allah does what He intends." (2:253)
[And mention] when the angels said, “O Mary, indeed Allah gives you good tidings of a word from Him, whose name will be the Messiah, Jesus, the son of Mary - distinguished in this world and the Hereafter and among those brought near [to Allah ]." (3:45)
"But when Jesus felt [persistence in] disbelief from them, he said, “Who are my supporters for [the cause of] Allah ?” The disciples said,” We are supporters for Allah . We have believed in Allah and testify that we are Muslims [submitting to Him]." (3:52)
[Mention] when Allah said, “O Jesus, indeed I will take you and raise you to Myself and purify you from those who disbelieve and make those who follow you [in submission to Allah alone] superior to those who disbelieve until the Day of Resurrection. Then to Me is your return, and I will judge between you concerning that in which you used to differ." (3:55)
"Indeed, the example of Jesus to Allah is like that of Adam. He created Him from dust; then He said to him, “Be,” and he was." (3:59)
And ˹on Judgment Day˺ Allah will say, “O Jesus, son of Mary! Remember My favour upon you and your mother: how I supported you with the holy spirit1 so you spoke to people in ˹your˺ infancy and adulthood. How I taught you writing, wisdom, the Torah, and the Gospel. How you moulded a bird from clay-by My Will-and breathed into it and it became a ˹real˺ bird-by My Will. How you healed the blind and the lepers-by My Will. How you brought the dead to life-by My Will. How I prevented the Children of Israel from harming you when you came to them with clear proofs and the disbelievers among them said, “This is nothing but pure magic.” (5:110)
Say, “We have believed in Allah and in what was revealed to us and what was revealed to Abraham, Ishmael, Isaac, Jacob, and the Descendants, and in what was given to Moses and Jesus and to the prophets from their Lord. We make no distinction between any of them, and we are Muslims [submitting] to Him.” (3:84)
"O People of the Book! Do not go to extremes regarding your faith; say nothing about Allah except the truth. The Messiah, Jesus, son of Mary, was no more than a messenger of Allah and the fulfilment of His Word through Mary and a spirit ˹created by a command˺ from Him. So believe in Allah and His messengers and do not say, “Trinity.” Stop!-for your own good. Allah is only One God. Glory be to Him! He is far above having a son! To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. And Allah is sufficient as a Trustee of Affairs." (4:171)
" And [for] their saying, “Indeed, we have killed the Messiah, Jesus, the son of Mary, the messenger of Allah .” And they did not kill him, nor did they crucify him; but [another] was made to resemble him to them. And indeed, those who differ over it are in doubt about it. They have no knowledge of it except the following of assumption. And they did not kill him, for certain." (4:157)
Indeed, We have sent revelation to you ˹O Prophet˺ as We sent revelation to Noah and the prophets after him. We also sent revelation to Abraham, Ishmael, Isaac, Jacob, and his descendants, ˹as well as˺ Jesus, Job, Jonah, Aaron, and Solomon. And to David We gave the Psalms. (4:163)

Amos 8:9 (written 800 years before Jesus) predicted the solar eclipse that happened at Jesus death. And we can scientifically and historically prove that both an earthquake, and an eclipse happened at Jesus death!! Coincidence? I think not! Psalms 22:16 (written 1000k ish years before Jesus) predicted how Jesus would die BEFORE CRUXIFITION WAS EVEN INVENTED! Isaiah 53 (600 years before Jesus) ALSO predicted how Jesus would die! Dinosaurs discovered in 1842. Said to be millions of years old. Book of Job describes a dinosaur 3200 years before Dinosaurs were even discovered 😂. Job 9:8, Isaiah 44:24, 51:13 all talk about the expansion of the universe thousands of years before we discovered it! Hebrew’s 11:3 talks about Atoms. Isaiah 51:6 and Hebrews 1:10-11 talk about the 2nd law of thermodynamics thousands or years before it was discovered! Job 38:16 talks about the deep ocean springs on the sea floor. How would some farmers thousands of years ago know that 🤔. Leviticus 15:13 talks about how to be clean we must use running water. Even in the 1800s people were getting sick and dying from using still water in a bowl. If only they read the Bible 🤦‍♂️. Job 38:31 mentions how something holds stuff together such as celestial bodies in space. Isaac newton called it gravity thousands of years later. 😂Daniel 9 (500ish BC)prophesies the exact year Jesus would die!! as well as the destruction of the temple and fall of israel!!!!Jesus also predicted this. Isaiah 60 (once again 600 years before Jesus) predicts not only the fall, not only the long period in between but also even the re-instatement of israel (70 AD - 1948 respectively!!!) not only that, verse 8 predicts AIRPLANES ✈️ !!!!Revelation 11:9 CLEARLY predicts video cameras/live video streaming!!!!! The bible says the life is in the blood. Even in the 1800s doctors would bleed out patients thinking it might help them. If only they read the Bible. The Bible mentions quarantining before people ever learned how diseases spread and how isolation would prevent spread. Job 26:7 says God “hangs the earth on nothing” .The bible says that the earth is round. Job 36:27-28 and Job 26:8 mentions the WATER CYCLE! ( evaporation, precipitation and condensation)We didn’t learn about the water cycle until the late 1600s!! The Bible mentions paths and such in the oceans and a man read that in the Bible and set out to find it. He became the father of oceanography and changed the world all because he read what the Bible claimed and decided to see if it’s true. Bible indirectly mentions Pangea multiple times in Genesis!! People have found Soddom and Gommorah and Mount Sinai which have the purest Sulphur on earth even tho there’s absolutely no seismic or volcanic activity. And it’s all destroyed the a city just as the Bible says!! Mount Sinai has a MASSSIVE AREA of rocks charred black! The bible says God descended like fire onto the mountain. Both of these have distinct things that the Bible says they did but are scientifically and archaeologically impossible if the Bible story wasn’t true and there’s many more archaeological finds like it. They have even found Noah’s ark. They found the chariots at the Red Sea crossing when Moses split the sea! We find sea shells on the highest mountains proving a global flood! In fact, Archeological finds that prove the Bible (wether small details, people’s existence, or entire story’s is so common we never even hear about it! It’s literally a monthly occurrence if not more! ATHEISTS, explain to me how some “silly little farmers thousands of years ago” knew all this stuff and more 😂People who testified about seeing Jesus risen were ostracized, stoned, beheaded, cruxified sawed in half etc. you really think they would die for a lie? Something they claimed they saw? Must I go on? 🙄 There are over 100 scientific facts in the Bible and thousands of prophecies.300 of which, Jesus fulfilled and lots of which are verifiable historically that even atheists can’t deny. And we have proof that these prophecies were written hundreds to thousands of years before so it’s impossible to deny the prophecies regarding things such as the eclipse, the way and time Jesus would die, the fall of the temple etc!! 200+ “last days” prophecies have come true in the past 100 years. Worst part is, all these specific 200+ prophecies are supposed to mark the last days. So very soon we will be entering the tribulation period. The beginning of the end. The proof is irrefutable. Then you take the fine tuning argument, ontological argument, cosmological argument, moral argument, airtight case for Jesus resurrection (watch inspiring philosophy’s video on it) scientifically-impossible -to -explain image on the shroud of Turin and you simply CANNOT possible deny God is real unless you are incredibly proud and love to dwell in your sin. Once again, I’m biased as well because I, friends family and even people I hardly know have witnessed the supernatural. Especially demons. In fact, half of the people Ik who have seen demons, talked to them or seen people manifest them aren’t even Christian!! I have 4 people Ik who are involved in Satanism in some way and know the supernatural is real. I know many friends and family who have seen broken arms and legs healed through prayer right in front of their eyes! Our bible camp had a group of Mexican kids all randomly manifest demons at the same time. Eyes rolling back in their head, foaming at the mouth, seizing, demonic screaming. They had to pray all night but eventually they all left. They all felt the Holy Spirit and were filled with joy afterwards. At the time I’m writing this, 2 days ago a lady manifested a demon in my church! I’m 17 and God had changed my life in December. I started spending 4-8 hours a day researching arguments by atheists, Christian’s and even Muslims. It’s gotten to the point where it bores me how easy it is to prove Christianity so I just study Islam as their arguments require Biblical and Islamic knowledge to debate. So yes, God is true wether you like it or not. I ask you guys to please humble yourselves. Your Eternity is at stake. God is good. ✝️❤️🙏🙏 this is all of course just a tiny tiny bit of the evidence. You’ll never be able to convince me God is not real as through experience and the evidence I’ve learned I’d have to be absolutely retarded to still not believe. I love all you guys! Don’t spend the rest of eternity regretting your lack of humbles and pursuit of truth!!

They mean it's for them. One person who has read it. The bible is for one person to read. Each person reading must decide for themselves. Most people who declare it false have not read it. It's an extremely personal revelation of the faith inside of ourselves. You can profess faith all your life but until you feel it inside you will always be wandering about. To know something is real quiets and tempers faith into an acceptance and from there on into a future of great expectation. Your confidence in all things will skyrocket. It's truly a wonderful experience.

It is then that you understand that it is not you that found Jesus Christ, but it is He who has been calling you home your entire life. He said, “The words that I speak to you, the are Spirit, and they are life.” (John 6:63) Reading the first 24 chapters of the book of Matthew one evening in college changed my life. The 66 books of the Bible were written:
    1. On three continents
    2. In three languages
    3. By about 40 different people (kings, Shepherds, scientist, attorneys, an army general, fisherman, priest, and a physician).
    4. Over of about 1500 years.
    5. On the most controversial subjects.
    6. By people who in most cases had never met.
    7. By Arthur's whose education and background varied greatly.
Yet, though it seems totally inconceivable,
    1. The 66 books maintain harmony with each other.
    2. Often concepts on a subject are expressed, but these concepts do not undermind what other Bible writers say on the same subject.
We Christians don't follow blindly so I'll give a list of prophecies fulfilled by Jesus.
    1. THE PROPHECY - The Bible predicts that God will be proceeded by a messenger - Isaiah 40:3 "The voice of him that crieth in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the LORD, make straight in the desert a highway for our God."
THE FULFILLMENT OF THE PROPHECY -
Matthew 3:1-3 "In those days came John the Baptist, preaching in the wilderness of Judaea, And saying, Repent ye: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.
For this is he that was spoken of by the prophet Esaias, saying, The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight.
    2. THE PROPHECY - Isaiah 7:14 "Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel."
    NOTE: Immanuel means"God with Us"
THE FULFILLMENT OF THE PROPHECY -
Luke 1: 28-31 "And the angel came in unto her, and said, Hail, thou that art highly favoured, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women. And when she saw him, she was troubled at his saying, and cast in her mind what manner of salutation this should be. And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God. And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS."
    3. THE PROPHECY - Micah 5:2 "But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, Though you are little among the thousands of Judah, Yet out of you shall come forth to Me The One to be Ruler in Israel, Whose goings forth are from of old, From [a]everlasting.”
THE FULFILLMENT OF THE PROPHECY -
Mathew 2:1, 2 "Now after Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the king, behold, [a]wise men from the East came to Jerusalem, saying, “Where is He who has been born King of the Jews? For we have seen His star in the East and have come to WORSHIP Him.”
    4. THE PROPHECY - Isaiah 61:1,2 "The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound; To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn;"
THE FULFILLMENT OF THE PROPHECY -
JESUS SPEAKING - Luke 4:18,19 "The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, Because He has anointed Me To preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted,To proclaim liberty to the captives And recovery of sight to the blind, To set at liberty those who are oppressed; To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord.”
    5. THE PROPHECY - Isaiah 35:5,6 "Then the eyes of the blind shall be opened, and the ears of the deaf shall be unstopped. Then shall the lame man leap as an hart, and the tongue of the dumb sing: for in the wilderness shall waters break out, and streams in the desert.
THE FULFILLMENT OF THE PROPHECIES - Matthew 9:35 "And Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people."
"eyes of the blind shall be opened" -
    John 9:1-11.
"the ears of the deaf shall be unstopped" - Mark 7:31-37.
"Then shall the lame man leap as an hart, and the tongue of the dumb sing: " -
    John 5:5-9.
    6. THE PROPHECY - Psalm 78:2 "I will open my mouth in a parable: I will utter dark sayings of old:"
THE FULFILLMENT OF THE PROPHECIES - Matthew 13:34 "All these things spake Jesus unto the multitude in parables; and without a parable spake he not unto them:"
    7. THE PROPHECY - Zachariah 9:9 "Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion; shout, O daughter of Jerusalem: behold, thy King cometh unto thee: he is just, and having salvation; lowly, and riding upon an ass, and upon a colt the foal of an ass."
THE FULFILLMENT OF THE PROPHECIES - Luke 9:35-38 "And they brought him to Jesus: and they cast their garments upon the colt, and they set Jesus thereon. And as he went, they spread their clothes in the way. And when he was come nigh, even now at the descent of the mount of Olives, the whole multitude of the disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works that they had seen; Saying, Blessed be the King that cometh in the name of the Lord: peace in heaven, and glory in the highest.
    - Mark 11:1-10

    THE FULFILLMENT OF THE PROPHECIES
    - Matthew 26:47-54 (too much text)
    9. THE PROPHECY - Zachariah 11:12,13 " And I said unto them, If ye think good, give me my price; and if not, forbear. So they weighed for my price thirty pieces of silver. And the LORD said unto me, Cast it unto the potter: a goodly price that I was prised at of them."
THE FULFILLMENT OF THE PROPHECIES - Matthew 27:1-7 "Then Judas, which had betrayed him, when he saw that he was condemned, repented himself, and brought again the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and elders, Saying, I have sinned in that I have betrayed the innocent blood. And they said, What is that to us? see thou to that. And he cast down the pieces of silver in the temple, and departed, and went and hanged himself. And the chief priests took the silver pieces, and said, It is not lawful for to put them into the treasury, because it is the price of blood. And they took counsel, and bought with them the potter's field, to bury strangers in."
    10. THE PROPHECY - Isaiah 53:7 "He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth."
THE FULFILLMENT OF THE PROPHECIES - Matthew 27:13,14 "Then said Pilate unto him, Hearest thou not how many things they witness against thee? And he answered him to never a word; insomuch that the governor marvelled greatly."
    11. THE PROPHECY - Isaiah 53:12 "...and he was numbered with the transgressors; and he bare the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors."
THE FULFILLMENT OF THE PROPHECIES - Luke 23:33,34 "And when they were come to the place, which is called Calvary, there they crucified him, and the malefactors, one on the right hand, and the other on the left. Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. AND THEY PARTED HIS RAIMENT, AND CAST LOTS."
NOTE: Speaking of "AND THEY PARTED HIS RAIMENT, AND CAST LOTS." which is above, even that was prophesied - PSALM 22:18 "They part my garments among them, and cast lots upon my vesture.
    12. THE PROPHECY - Psalm 22:1 "My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?
THE FULFILLMENT OF THE PROPHECIES - Matthew 27:46 "And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? that is to say, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?"
    13. THE PROPHECY - PSALM 31:5 "nto thine hand I commit my spirit..."
THE FULFILLMENT OF THE PROPHECIES - Luke 23:46 "And when Jesus had cried with a loud voice, he said, Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit: and having said thus, he gave up the ghost."
NOTE: IT'S EVEN PREDICTED THAT NONE OF JESUS BONES WOULD BE BROKEN - PSALM 34:20 "He keepeth all his bones: not one of them is broken."
THE FULFILLMENT OF THE PROPHECIES - John 19:32,33 "Then came the soldiers, and brake the legs of the first, and of the other which was crucified with him. But when they came to Jesus, and saw that he was dead already, they brake not his legs:"

It's amazing to follow the convolutions of Jordan's post-conversion thinking and his personifications of good and evil into Biblical characters. I recall that his conversion was about six or seven years ago now, and that his wife was instrumental in his transformation. The dictionary defines faith as "an unquestioning belief that does not require proof or evidence." If Jordan can do it, there may still be hope for even Abaddon, the forever lost, " angel of the abyss."

Maybe it's not easy coming from academia, but, I wouldn't say it's difficult coming from a purely intellectual standpoint. I don't have blind faith. I believe because I have examined the claims and find that they are true. There is nothing illogical and/or irrational about a Creator of the universe. It's a perfectly valid position to take, despite claims to the contrary.
In fact, the other side is not rational. If you've ever heard the other side argue, when they get pressed, they start to descend into absurdities. Saying things like, "we can't trust our own thoughts". Well, if that's the case why should I believe you that there is no God? That would be absurd to believe something from someone who says even they can't trust their own thoughts.
The other day I listened to a guy justify cannibalism. He said if one group of humans hunts another group of humans, as long as the hunters dispatch their prey quickly, (no suffering), then, there is nothing immoral happening. For more context, they were talking about morals and whether or not they are purely a social construct vs. whether or not there are objective moral truths outside of our own minds. In other words, if there were no human minds left, would these moral truths still exist. That guy's answer was truly absurd and he arrived that answer because he knew if he wanted to be consistent with his atheist worldview, the logical conclusion of that position led him to say that hunting humans is ok if their demise is carried out quickly. 😳Insanity.
Point is, I see a Creator as the most rational and logical explanation for the existence of the universe and the life therein. I think the intellectual price tag is higher for those who do NOT believe.
Anyways, bless you man. Just thought I'd chime in and maybe give you some encouragement that your belief is not just some blind faith that you evolved because you're afraid to die, as the atheists claim.

In fact the common theme of it is men and women achieving great things through faith in God but usually ending in great shame and failure when they turned away from God and relied on themselves.

Does great poetry all of a sudden stop being great poetry the moment you find out the poet who wrote it was a murderer?
Study the history of any human culture in a similar position and you find slavery, rape and genocide in all of them if you go far enough. The question is not whether or not those monstocities were committed by human beings in the culture, the question is whether their religion made a genuine attempt to reduce these monstrocities executed by human beings whithin the culture.
The fact that the bible mentions a limitation to slavery in the old testament doesn't mean it condones slavery. It means that from a practical stance at the time people couldn't get rid of slavery but at least they could reduce the maltreatment of slaves, and that's what they did.
From our point of vieuw it's an easy judgement as we don't see the enslavement of machines to do the work for us that former to the invention of the steam engine human slaves would do as something unethical. Note how slavery was only abolished in countries after the introduction of the steam engine in that country.
I suggest you try to imagine what life was like and how to keep a society alive not just before the invention of the steam engine, but as far back as before the invention of the wheel (like ancient egypt), since that is the time those texts originate from.

The amazing thing is each time I find something I either missed or misinterpreted from prior readings. The constant is the word of God, and the “true” application of the entire book. As a baby Christian, I've read the New Testament and now just started Joshua. I had a very hard time reading Genesis. I found it to be very violent and confusing. My goal is to read until I finish, then start again and again until I can memorize verses. I want to be able to answer people's questions when I talk to family about why they need to be born-again Christians. I come from a Catholic background and my mother, my Aunts & my Uncles are set on staying as Catholics. It makes me frustrated, which is why I need to be educated on God's word. I was never a practicing Catholic, never went to church, and never prayed or read scripture. A few months ago I started watching The Chosen, then I woke up one morning and it all made sense, I still can't figure out how I came to see that I needed to be born again. I'm just thankful that the Holy Spirit guided me to this point. Now I have a loving relationship with Jesus and the Holy Spirit and I feel truly blessed. 🙏💜

Christianity teaches us to have a relationship with Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit, to live your life as it says in scripture. Catholicism doesn't teach this.

    1. Is there only one god, or are there multiple gods? If multiple, how is a person to choose which deserves obedience?
    2. Would you agree that before anything can exist, something has to create it?
Did your god create everything? If yes, who/what created your god?
    3. Is your god infallible?
    4. Is your god omnipotent?
    5. Is your god omniscient?
    6. Is your god benevolent, or malicious?
    7. If your god cannot make mistakes, then it follows that everything it creates is either perfect, or that your god intentionally makes things that are flawed. Would a benevolent god intentionally create something likely to suffer because of its flaws?
    8. If your god can do anything, and it created the universe, why didn't it simply create a perfect world inhabited by perfect beings? If your god wanted obedience, and god is not malicious, why did god make disobedience possible?
If a parent had two little children, and came to them with a plate of cookies and said,
"These are the best cookies in the world, and I'm going to put them where you have to look at them all day every day.
These cookies are delicious, and if you eat them, they will make you into something just as good as me.
You are NOT ALLOWED to eat these cookies, ever~!"
Then, of course, the kids eat the cookies. The abusive parent storms in, enraged. "How dare you ungrateful children! I am now physically throwing you out of my garden. You will live in torture for eternity as punishment, and all of your children will automatically also suffer torture all of their miserable lives".
Wouldn't a parent like that belong in an insane asylum, or at least in prison?
Suppose the parent had the ability, at any time, to bring the kids back to paradise.....instead, he says, "well, I'm going to TORTURE TO DEATH my favorite son, and THEN, if you obey me like a zombie slave from now on, you can come home"
Wouldn't that parent deserve only HATE, not obedience?
    9. If your god knows everything, does it already understand every thought and feeling you have? Does it instantaneously know everything you say and do? If yes, what is the point of religious rituals, such as prayer?
    10. Why would an omnipotent and omniscient god not communicate directly and unambiguously with individuals, with no need of books, churches, prophets, signs, miracles, etc?
If a person is not intelligent enough, or not "worthy" enough to speak directly with god, whose fault is that? Who made the person in the first place? If a person is unworthy or incapable of directly communicating with god, how can that person be capable of recognizing a valid spokesperson for god?
    11. Think about the person/people who convinced/persuaded/ordered you to believe in a version of god. Are they infallible? Is it at all possible for them to tell you something they sincerely believe, but for that thing they tell you to be actually incorrect?
    12. Are feelings reliable tools to guide actions? Suppose I hear a person in my neighborhood talking a lot about the presence of violent break in robberies nearby, and I get apprehensive. I am convinced by the passion my neighbor puts into this story, even though I've seen no tangible evidence. That night, I hear a noise. I FEEL certain that it is a robber breaking in to harm my family. I get out of bed, pull a pistol from the bedside table. Without opening the bedroom door, I shoot through it to get the robber. When I open the door, there is my son, lying dead on the floor from my bullet. I was sure. I relied on my feelings. My fear of a robber. My hope of being a defender father. Feelings, not facts. Was that a good way to live my life?
    14. Do you deny that religion (superstition, irrational behavior) is the root cause of most human conflict in history, that for centuries millions have been tortured and murdered "because god told me to do it"?
    13. Suppose a person has a book full of maps to guide a group journey. They rely upon it, but the group is perpetually lost.
You question the map book, but your friend insists that the map book is flawlessly accurate.
"How do you know?" you ask. They reply, "I know that this book is accurate and perfect, because it says so in the book."
Your friend insists that the map book is information from god.....but some other people wrote the book, based on their interpretations...why? Why didn't god write the book personally? How could information possibly become more accurate and truthful when filtered thorough con men?.....but that is okay, because of how passionately they shout about their version of the book, and how strongly it makes your friend feel.
When you show them hundreds of self contradictions in the book, they get upset and say that you are just not reading the book correctly.
Which person is messed up? You, or the book fanatic?
How do you justify cherry picking which parts of the bible to follow? Leviticus?
    14. If the point is to die and go to heaven, why not simply commit mass suicide and get it over with?
Christ was quite literally a kamikaze; is that what you preach should be emulated in daily life?
    15. Why is it necessary to use superstition and irrationality to justify your practical principles?
Why treat humans like a donkey in need of the stick of hell and the carrot of heaven?
If you want positive secular behavior, why not justify that behavior in practical terms?
Why do you need to use HATE and FEAR to get people to OBEY your literally INSANE beliefs?
Wake up. Reality is OBJECTIVE, not subjective.
Religion is a SCAM used by con men to exploit the weak, the desperate, and the stupid. Use your brain, not your feelings.

What's the core message of Jesus/Christianity? ONLY if you believe in me (Jesus) you'll go to Heaven. That;s the logical equivalent to "If you don't believe in me you'll go to h3ll".
What kind of God would have such a mafia like approach? And what kind of God would want to punish its human creations, then send his Son instead to punish him so he can feel satisfied and forgive humans,.. What happened to personal responsibility? We're collectively condemned by Adam and Eve's mistakes, and we're collectively forgiven (by the punishment of Jesus)?

I am a Christian, and I find Mr. Peterson’s description of “truth”, as it pertains to the Biblical text, lacking. Even more than that, he is unnecessarily ambiguous in the way he presents his statements, and arguments. He starts to makes a statement, just to then make two or three comments about something not directly related to the statement he just said. Many people are impressed with intellectuals, if they use many words that are jumbled together, and if the person says it passionately, with a furrowed brow, they think that that person is brilliant. Some of the greatest teachers/preachers/and philosophers who’ve ever lived, have had the ability to grasp very complex issues, but then can express and explain those things to where a child can understand.

Then, that means that every other ancient text is also true, from every other religion ever. The mere fact that something is written does not make it true. There is also a mountain of text in the Vatican that contradict the fables in the carefully edited text that was put into the Bible constructed by the first council of Nicaea, which of course was the Roman Empire basically constructing a new religion. It still doesn't present any evidence to prove any supernatural claim whatsoever. It just makes the claim and that's it. As much as I like Peterson on many topics, this is one where I believe he leaves logic and reason at the door. But of course it's going to pander to Christians in particular, but conveniently leave everyone else out.

I disagree, but I understand your point. This tidbit isn't the full lecture, which I have seen, and it does a poor job at summarizing Jordan's point. So I'll do my best:
Jordan explains that a person cannot perceive the world through any lense but the moral lense. Or better put: one cannot operate in the world in any functional sense without some basis of morality. (He uses A.I and smart car technology as an example) He goes on to state that science can derive facts, and observation can derive facts innumerably, but to determine which facts are "important" is a moral decision.
Furthermore, he says, that the Bible (which is one of the oldest texts in the world) pulls together a collection of stories that when understood give rise to a moral or ethical code which allows one to live in a, not merely "functional," but a "Good" way (as described by the average person looking in). The Bible is, by this argument, an excellent foundation of belief which propogates the persuit of truth in the natural world (science), truth in the spiritual or social world (philosophy/religion) and a fair backbone for law (as exemplified by the United States). I think I did well at a summary, but I know I left out many points. I recommend the full lecture, but I do not have a link for you, sorry!

If a human being, who has never had exposure to any religious literature, constructed moral guidelines for humanity, it is obvious that the moral guidelines would essentially mirror those that are contained in any religious literature. And the only differences would be the due to the cultural subtleties of the person constructing the moral guidelines. Just in the same way that that there are subtle differences between all the religions in the world, where the biggest differences can be clearly linked to geographical separation between major religions. Jordan demonstrates that no matter how smart a person is, if that person is bitten by the religious bug then logic is cast aside, and wishful thinking shuts out critical thinking.

If death is all there is then I have nothing to fear from taking whatever I want and doing whatever I wanted as long as I didn't get caught by police, one life one chance at getting the good life of luxury and sex. Thats where the bible puts a screech to my plans, because God reveals that everyone has a value. Everyone should be loved and honored and respected. Their lives aren't meaningless and I shouldn't try to dominate them, I believe that when the flood came its probably because the world was full of people who like me were willing to steal, kill and fo whatever they wanted because they didn't care about others and thought only about themselves and only wanted what they wanted without giving anything or doing anything for anyone unless it benefited them. A entire human population of that kind of thinking is extremely dangerous. Guaranteed that women were probably raped for fun by groups of men perhaps even in the streets just for leaving their house, and you probably had to fight to keep your belongings. Good people don't just happen. I had to be taught to be good. The bible did most of the work. Plus I had a supernatural encounter with Jesus to the point if I deny he exists it would be ridiculous in my eyes because the encounter was so unconventional and yet undeniable.

There were those who came down and raped women and had children. They were in Sodom and Gamorah, in the promised land.
All mankind were Gods children but none wanted to worship him. If we analyze this logically, thoughtfully and carefully, it's an absurdly limiting argument that leads to this conclusion: "The bible is the precondition for truth itself", even though the book was written by humans. He doesn't even address what books were excluded from the bible or folks who live in a part of the world where this bible hasn't historically been available.
I find some folks' faith, even though I'm agnostic, to be moving and beautiful. But Professor Peterson claims to use inescapable logic to reach his conclusion. He seems to me like one of those tenured professors who start to believe everything they profess. I'm not saying he's a bad person or anything like that, but I find no wisdom (nor sound logic) here.

It is not only true, but informative on issues about mankind’s sin (our sins) & how that sin operates in our hearts. Our Father waits for us with open arms ready to receive us when we’re ready to identify, own up to & repent of what our consciousness is telling us is wrong. Our Father will never say, see I told so, you should have listened to me, etc. He is waiting for us to run into his arms of forgiveness. It’s pretty simple really. Good job Jordan.

Cognizance is real, if you have Billions of people who believe in something then that makes it real!
Yes it can be used, the same way a prescribed medicine can be used, but all things have there cost, and side effects, we should be fearful of leading young people to a thing called faith when they have no resources of understand what this thing could be. Freedom is more precious!!

Truth is that which is true independant of whether people believe it or not... it is what is objectively true.... billions of people can be equally wrong as one person can..
