I've done my research, I could only get one. And I feel bad for it, but it's not my fault the store doesn't sell cages big enough to hold two of them. And I don't have the money to make a custom cage.
I think guinea pigs are like any other animals, or humans for that matter. Every one is unique and has their own likes & dislikes. I had seven at one time, a single in the very beginning (kids found wandering in a field), and they were individuals with their own individual habits. My own experience was some were very social and mixed well with others and one male was somewhat aggressive and did better apart. We kept, or tried to keep, the males separate from the females but were not always successful as my children weren't "in the know." That is partially how we ended up with seven. We built large enclosures and we took them outside when weather permitted. All in all I think they were happy and my family loved them very much. As with any pet, there are expenses, but these little guys are not cheap to maintain and there is work involved in feeding, cleaning cages, etc. Be sure you do your research before getting one or two or . . . We found the males can become so agitated when the females come into season that the males would get pneumonia. They can't be treated with certain antibiotics as they can have fatal reactions to them. We had to buy a nebulizer per the vet's instructions and rig up a makeshift tent with a laundry basket & blankets to treat the little guys. As I said, they can be alot of work but we loved them so it was worth it. Just be sure you are ready to go the distance.
it's so sweet that this little girl loves that little guinea pig. Her parents are teaching her to be kind and loving to animals and that can't be beat!
Guinea pigs are some of the friendliest, cuddliest, social little pets you can ever get. They’re smarter than you think and love attention, they’re just the greatest, especially for kids!
How did I go through nearly 28 years of existence and never thinking about wanting to have a child or a Guinie pig To suddenly wanting both at the at the same time? Oh yeh I known how.... The Dodo!
I had a Guinea pig... She is my favourite pet ever!!! And she's gone... My heart was in pieces... I miss her so badly..its been 6 months since she left me! 😔😔😔
So KYOOT! I don't understand why people say that guinea pigs are lazy, they're not! They can be helpful and caring, have a great night, afternoon, morning ❤️❤️
This lady is just awesome! She went out of her way to let Maisie continue having a relationship with Rockie. This is just an awesome story of friendship and love that makes me feel like there are people who have the compassion to do loving things for others.
Grace Haven Since you don’t know that for sure, why bring it up? You have no proof. It’s not ok to jump to conclusions when you don’t know the entire story.
I totally get the fact that guinea pigs need more space then a small cage and that there should be two but sometimes guinea pigs are perfectly content with being with other animals such as dogs and you really can’t judge their cage situation because maybe it’s just for short times and sleeping, they could be free range. Can’t we all just appreciate the video of a bond with a kid and a guinea pig it’s not like they run the account they won’t get the comments to tell them to get a companion or a bigger cage. People know to do research and she even said she wanted a guinea pig so she most likely understands everything she needs to do please just don’t leave hateful or rude things on something when it very clearly doesn’t need to be there
I’m guessing because guinea pigs are a lot of work. Dad probably works and doesn’t want the responsibility and Masie as adorable as she is, is not quite old enough for the responsibility.
This video was soooo CUTE!!!! Thank-you for sharing. I think it a wonderful thing for a child to have a special friendship with an animal any kind of animal. I just loved everything about this story...😊😘 to everyone in this little piece of happiness.
Dragonberries they will get depressed if they don’t have a friend, also when they get spooked by something it’s good for them to have another guinea pig to reassure them that nothing is wrong and human interaction will not give them that, hay is a huge part of there diet and they eat A LOT of it so that’s why there needs to be more of it, they need a bigger cage bc they need to be able to run and get exercise and actually have space for things to hide in, that’s why you should do your research before getting pets even pet stores don’t have the right supplies for certain animals and most places that have stuff for guinea pigs and bigger animals don’t sell the right sized cages and stuff
Dragonberries i get where your coming from but a human can’t ever replace another guinea, bc we can’t fully understand things like guinea pigs can with each other, even tho he had the little girl doesn’t mean he’s happy, he might look it but guinea pigs are good with hiding things, a guinea pig could be sick b it you might not realize it, so it could be depressed but we don’t know it it
Yes... that really worried me. I have two guinea pigs (they should have a companion) that I adopted. Now they are spoiled rotten and have three big cages that we connected to make a giant cage. 🙂
Poor piggie living all alone. Guinea pigs need at least one other guinea pig to socialize and not be lonely they are herd animals. Also they don't like to be grabbed bc they are prey animals and it stresses them out. I recommend Tiny Adventures, she has lots of good videos about piggies
Do you mean Little Adventures? If not, I'll have to look them up too. Little Adventures is great! Also if you want more educational videos about guinea pigs, look up the LA Guinea Pig Rescue and Scotty's Animals, both are great channels.
Honestly, I have guinea pigs too and I’ve tried my hardest but I really wasn’t a good owner when we first got them. Though they are cute and supposedly low maintenance, small rodents require a lot of attention to keep happy. Keeping them healthy isn’t a problem but I believe living a sick, happy life is better than being healthy and mistreated all the time. Though try to do both
I had a guniea pig name Cheerio (it’s her fav food) when I was 7 it was my older sister who was 17 at the time I think and we were bffs it came to the point that my sister gave Cheerio to me and I was really gental and still with her I follow what to do and not what to do with her and I was perfect he died last year and I was devastated but now I have a guenia pig name Bobba and we’re still great pals so I think not roughly children like me and have them
Poor guinea pig. Living alone in a tiny cage, surrounded by people who think of him as a human being you read bedtime stories with. Please do proper research before getting any pet, and get a larger cage as well!
If Maisie's dad is reading it, please buy her a guinea pig. Please, please please!!! Your princess will be the happiest. Keep me updated if you buy one 😊😊
Jeez...this cage is WAY to small. Plus, they hate being forced to get petted, but most people misinterpret their behaviour. He doesn't "purr"...jeez. And keeping them without at least one other guinea pig is absolutely cruel. I feel so sorry for this little fella.
I miss my Guinea Pig, Peanut. I got him when he was a little baby, had him for around 8 years. He passed away when I was on vacation, 18 hours away. He wasn’t alone though. He had his brother, Wishbone. When I got home, I painted him a memorial rock. It stays in the backyard where my father buried him. This warms my heart and fills my soul with happy memories
I know it looks cute and so on. But for guinea pigs, this is torture. Guinea pigs and children are rarely a good combo. And especially noisy class rooms are a total horror scenario. Even if it looks like they are enjoying it, they look OK because of fear.
And it wasn’t meant to be look at the cage size look at how much hay she has and no companionship guinea pigs are herd animals and need more than one guinea pig and the guinea pig wasn’t “chill” he is stressed
I love my guinea pigs. I can very easily see how anyone would fall in love with them. They need another guinea friend and a lot more cage space to run around in.
sorry, I am sure everybody is having their best intentions here and the little girl is really adorable but imho guinea pigs, bunnies, hamsters are NOT suitable pets (toys) for kids.
It can work if the adults take the responsibility and show the kids how to treat them correctly. The problem is when the adults just give the animal as a present to the kids and don't care for them anymore. The problem is this video though is that the school is doing a bad job.
@@cuuy exactly. I had 2 guineas (one recently passed 😭). We got them 4 years ago when my stepson was 6 and my step daughter was 11. We taught them how to properly hold them and care for them. How to feed them. Of course 99% of their care and play was provided by me lol but the first thing we did was teach the kids how fragile they are
@@nadiar6848 Small mammals like guinea pigs are much more fragile than dogs and cats, and little kids tend to play rough. Also, guinea pigs do best in quiet, predictable environments, which houses with kids generally are not.
@@1901180108 I understand that. Although I must say it depend on the child, temperament and age plays a huge role, especially the child's temperament/personality. Some kids are very gentle with animals, more so than some adults. But I must say, if a young child gets a pet the parents must be on board to take care of it and make it a family pet rather than the kids pet. Otherwise the kid might get bored with it

it's so sweet that this little girl loves that little guinea pig. Her parents are teaching her to be kind and loving to animals and that can't be beat!
Id just like to say Guinea pigs need a companion and a much larger cage and unlimited amount of fresh hay
Guinea pigs are some of the friendliest, cuddliest, social little pets you can ever get. They’re smarter than you think and love attention, they’re just the greatest, especially for kids!
Just wondering why her parents didn't let her adopt the guinea pig? Glad she got to keep seeing Rocky. He really seems to love her and she him. 💜
I have a herd of 20 piggies that I live with. I adore them, there’s just something about them that heals the soul ❤️
How did I go through nearly 28 years of existence and never thinking about wanting to have a child or a Guinie pig
To suddenly wanting both at the at the same time?
Oh yeh I known how.... The Dodo!
Wow many you should have a pet or kid i dono
It's so exciting to see parents support their children to love animals, how wonderful this world be if everyone like them
:( poor piggie. Such a small cage and no buddy.
I wish the real world was as good as dodo videos.
I had a Guinea pig... She is my favourite pet ever!!! And she's gone... My heart was in pieces... I miss her so badly..its been 6 months since she left me! 😔😔😔
I hope Rocky has a friend. Guinea pigs should never ever be left alone
This is absolutely adorable!
Jeez how adorable . What a delightful kid makes u hope there's hope for us humans yet
Someone needs to teach her how to handle Rocky properly before she injures him!!! I do love how much she loves him though! So sweet ❤
Rocky, child girl, dog are cuuuuuute. Adorable. Piggy is the best gift for a child who does not eat vegi.
So KYOOT! I don't understand why people say that guinea pigs are lazy, they're not! They can be helpful and caring, have a great night, afternoon, morning ❤️❤️
Well I've never seen one do the dishes
@@bobbisue313 xD
The little girl is lovely... hopefully when she grows up she can give a guinea pig a PROPER home.
I love watching these! It makes me happy to see something good happen
I guess
I agree! We need some good things in the world!
These arent proper conditions for a guinea pig but good for the girl i guess :(
You can see the love she has for rocky :) ❤️ this is so nice to see that people are raising kids to love and appreciate animals.
Why am I crying!?!!! 😭😭 This is so cute.
Cute avocado
This lady is just awesome! She went out of her way to let Maisie continue having a relationship with Rockie. This is just an awesome story of friendship and love that makes me feel like there are people who have the compassion to do loving things for others.
I think the lady, aka the dad's coworker, and him are having an affair personally... :/
Grace Haven Since you don’t know that for sure, why bring it up? You have no proof. It’s not ok to jump to conclusions when you don’t know the entire story.
That cage size is horrendous
So cute
I have 8 Guinea pigs they are so cute
5 boys- Buzz, Romeo, Ezra, Prince Harry and Wilfred
3 girls- Esme, Daisy and Minnie May
I totally get the fact that guinea pigs need more space then a small cage and that there should be two but sometimes guinea pigs are perfectly content with being with other animals such as dogs and you really can’t judge their cage situation because maybe it’s just for short times and sleeping, they could be free range. Can’t we all just appreciate the video of a bond with a kid and a guinea pig it’s not like they run the account they won’t get the comments to tell them to get a companion or a bigger cage. People know to do research and she even said she wanted a guinea pig so she most likely understands everything she needs to do please just don’t leave hateful or rude things on something when it very clearly doesn’t need to be there
This put a smile on my face 😊
That’s the cutest thing ever.
Why didn’t Guinea pig go to that little girl?
I don't know, but i want to know because the little girl and rocky are soul pet mates.
I’m guessing because guinea pigs are a lot of work. Dad probably works and doesn’t want the responsibility and Masie as adorable as she is, is not quite old enough for the responsibility.
She isn’t responsible enough for her to take care of rocky
Because then the dad wouldn't have had the excuse to initiate the obvious affair with his coworker, duh
Doubt she knows how to take care of him
This video was soooo CUTE!!!! Thank-you for sharing. I think it a wonderful thing for a child to have a special friendship with an animal any kind of animal. I just loved everything about this story...😊😘 to everyone in this little piece of happiness.
Please do your research before getting animals. This care is all wrong
@@katieedits99 there is supposed to be 2 guinea pigs lots of hay in the cage, bigger cage etc
Ikr Guinea pigs need 780 of floor space plants, fish can be great starter pets!
This guinea pig needs friend.. wether or not he has a good relationship with that kid
Videos made to fill your heart with love. Im so glad ive found that channel. I cry tears of joy on literally every video. Thank you Dodo. !
The purring is bad. It signifies that the guinea pig is annoyed
5:37 was so cute!! She loves him so much its adorable 😭♥️
More like playing with him likes he's a stuffed animal. This is why I don't trust kids (some of them)
the cage is to small change it please
This little girl is the sweetest, most adorable doll!! I love!! My cheeks hurt from smiling!!
Guinea pigs aren't stuffed animals. 😣 Don't treated like that :/
Yeah, it´s hard to see. Guinea pigs are not for children.
@@bowlchamps37 Yeah, but can these idiots read and understand this?!
Though try to do both
I had a guniea pig name Cheerio (it’s her fav food) when I was 7 it was my older sister who was 17 at the time I think and we were bffs it came to the point that my sister gave Cheerio to me and I was really gental and still with her I follow what to do and not what to do with her and I was perfect he died last year and I was devastated but now I have a guenia pig name Bobba and we’re still great pals so I think not roughly children like me and have them
@@bowlchamps37 agreed most kids probs can’t take care of them they’re better for very mature kids & teens
Omg her laugh is like the most wholesome thing I can’t.
Poor guinea pig. Living alone in a tiny cage, surrounded by people who think of him as a human being you read bedtime stories with.
Please do proper research before getting any pet, and get a larger cage as well!
Guinea pigs are precious fluffy potato shaped angles that are adorable
If Maisie's dad is reading it, please buy her a guinea pig. Please, please please!!! Your princess will be the happiest. Keep me updated if you buy one 😊😊
Buy 2. They are social animals and should have a friend.
There is no love quite as special as that of a little girl for her beloved pet!
Jeez...this cage is WAY to small. Plus, they hate being forced to get petted, but most people misinterpret their behaviour. He doesn't "purr"...jeez. And keeping them without at least one other guinea pig is absolutely cruel. I feel so sorry for this little fella.
Esa niña tiene un Aura especial
Everyone:awww she’s so cute
Me:SHES A HARRY POTTER FAN
I THOUGHT I WAS THE ONLY ONE, HER GRYFFINDOR HEADBAND!!
As a person who owns Guinea Pigs, this puts a smile on my face :)
Of course 99% of their care and play was provided by me lol but the first thing we did was teach the kids how fragile they are
At this point no animals are apparently suitable for kids.
Otherwise the kid might get bored with it
This little girl is just too cute 😍 doesn't even miss a heart beat about taking her friend home with her for a few days, just like "yeah okay lady, he's mine bye" XD
