Ria I DID IT!......I just found your channel yesterday. Liked, Subscribed, and made my DOSTI today. My husband from Maraval said "yep you got it" Thanks Ria YOU ARE THE BEST!
Hi Ria. I have been watching your videos for about a week now and realize how similar our cooking is. But that comes from our ancestors being the same. I am from Fiji and we clean, cook and use the same ingredients. I love your videos, your voice and you are so professional. You have a new friend and fan. I will visit Trinidad one day. I grew up eating all these foods, especially the Dosti roti and I still make them.
I am so taking your mother in law's idea with the oil.in the mustard bottle...lol. I also loved how you showed where she didnt use the dabla for the ones who needed a substitute. I have done that spoon thing for years because I dont make buss up shot often, but I decided to purchase a pair since I've gotten better at it. Now to perfect the dosti...lol. Thanks as usual RIA.
I was in an Indian grocery store last week, and there was a refrigerated section more than thirty feet long, with over a hundred different types of rotis and flat breads!!! It was astounding!!!! Great recipes and demonstration as usual Ria! Thank you!
I just want to thank you. Words can not explain how well my roti came out. I made it for dinner and my husband loved it. I don't have to wait until my mother-in-law visits to make this anymore. Thanks you so much!
This recipe and video details are amazing! I tried this yesterday and everyone complimented me on the softness and taste! Thank you very much Ria!! Keep up the awesome work 👏
Your information and cooking is great. I cook also so I can confirm this. I can sense your experience. May God continue to bless you and your channel. We are very fortunate for the advancement in technology that we can enjoy and learn. Blessings OmShanti Shanti Shanti
Oh yes!!! So have I!!! You make it all seem so simple. Made the flufiest paratha using your recipe & can't wait to try dosti roti next. Thank you Ria 💓💓
As always you are helping me to impress my husband and I'm truly grateful especially for the precise instructions because we don't get this until my mummy comes over. I also have to say "Damnnnn" your MIL is a boss on another level, she was mesmerising to watch and her smile whilst cooking, only a mom of that generation has when they're preparing a meal. Thank you for showing her off a bit ♥
No words are left to be said** Kudos** to your mother in law** Would take my hat off to her if I wore one** I learned so much today from both of you ladies**thank you so much..
Delious wholesome 😢Cannot wait to make I'm happy that I Subscribed to night And thank you for sharing your Video of your Mother n law ❤️ that was very special ❤️ . Now I'm hungry 😊 Thank you .😊
Ria, a fantastic video as usual. The most professional Trinidadian professor🥉🏆of Trini Indian cooking. Love your voice and music. I will be learning a lot from you this year. Happy 2021 to you and your family. From an experienced person in the kitchen who you are now going to teach to make some of my favorite foods. Trini Indian food was a challenge because of the special skills needed. Thanks for sharing. I will now start my new venture in the kitchen.
I'm mesmerized Ria! I've never had dosti before but it looks so silky. Must give this a try. In your opinion, what's the best fat to use when making roti in general. Hats off to you mother-in-law! Couldn't help but notice the music you chose to accompany her cooking. Perfect choice for a classic cook. lol
Doing the dosti roti in layers is almost like Samosa skins which has been done in all 10 at one time but I did it with 5 at a time but it's tricky peeling it out so thin... same method except they don't put oil to flip they just flip it ... n don't keep it so long on the Tarwa... thanks for sharing
Love your passion and explanations! Can you do a how to for making wraps or wrap bread kindly? Especially how to make different types like a spinach wrap or maybe a pumpkin wrap. Thanks.
Ria it's the best dosti roti I have ever seen well done 👍👌😋 ria continue 🙌🙋👏 to the Indian dish the month watering food for well though & I love it so much that I can make it so delicious satisfying food for my family.good job.👸🙏😇👼🌞💑😍😂😆🌹🌹💘💖💋💫🍷🍺

You can freeze the dough, then bring to room temp and cook when ready tor eat. I know some ppl freeze the roti too in several layers of wrapping -but I personally can’t eat anything from the freezer. 😀🙈

Please let me know if ghee is better to use and if it is healthier. Thanks.
They all work-ghee, butter or oil. Ghee is certainly a healthy option.
@@CookingWithRia Thanks, Ria.

would a soohari (from "lupsy & soohari") be considered as a type of roti?
When they make them to use for samosa skins, I’ve seen them do up to 10 layers
Hi Ria. Will the roti stay soft next day? I find that the day after cooking roti it always gets hard. Especially sada.
Nichelle Gooding Hi. I usually save the dough in the fridge and cook as needed. Hot, fresh, soft and tasty!
Health to your hands 🙌 as the Turks will say
Or the long time way Ria
Alisha😍😍😍😍😍
Would one be able to work this dough better with a stand mixer with a dough hook❔
Much easier if you know how to get the right softness.
Could this be frozen in advance before cooking it
You can freeze the dough, then bring to room temp and cook when ready tor eat. I know some ppl freeze the roti too in several layers of wrapping -but I personally can’t eat anything from the freezer. 😀🙈
Can we take 50% wheat flour 50% maida?
