Hello, just a regular guy here, that not even a scrapper. Just enjoying you videos for the heck of it, for taking stuff apart. You inspired me to get chickens at least.. Best wishes to the land down under from Transylvania! Cheers
Do you know what I put on when I'm going down to scrap? That video you did two or three years ago just cleaning up cable that lasted for about an hour-and-a-half. I find your voice just so restful & get in the zone, I finally come to, and am amazed at how much I've done. Well done that man! My only problem is that I have a heap of motherboards & unlike you, have no one to sell them to. My scrap place will only take server grade boards. I think I'll scrap them and devil take the hindmost. Kind Regards Peter
Well my friend that was a very nice Marathon and I enjoyed it very much looking forward to seeing more thank you for sharing this with us six stars brother
Thanks ben! Great info! Very helpful! Didn't realize I could put capacitors in dirty aly. Eggs here in the states are pretty expensive. Wish my township would allow me to raise chucks. Tc
I've missed your scrap marathons, I really enjoyed this and the longer the better as far as I'm concerned (referring to the video obviously!) I love toroidal transformers, make me go weak at the knees. We may well have a new invented scrap word among us now Ben...."scrappled" 😁 Look at all those yummy mosfets 👀 @42.00. At least you don't have to 'shell out' so much for your eggs! I hardly ever have over heating issues with my GoPro, I guess that is the big difference between the lovely English and Australian weather ay!! I take off the tanties too🙂 So much in this, just what I needed, thank you 🙂
If anyone is still watching. I've let this slide for days waiting for it to come back up on the main page. Laptop alert at about 1:09:00. I got my latest 2nd hand laptop from the local pawn shop several days ago. The 4th since 2014. Same as, same as, like all the previous ones. There will come a time when these ones get to be being beyond obscelete. No more of a big black dot in the right hand corner of the screen from some sort of blown fuse, but, by the same token, no more ad-free TH-cam. I cannot lose the TH-cam ads on this set like I did on the previous laptop. Yep, no bull. My previous laptop dodged all TH-cam ads if I got into TH-cam using either of a couple of procedures.

The ENA2060 Network Amplifier for Rolling Stock incorporates SIP-addressable loudspeaker loops that enable the use of the same software for handling both Passenger Emergency Intercom / Crew Communication and Public Address (PA), as well as the required Train Radio Integration, thus eliminating one entire subsystem from the solution. This results in a well-integrated system with less complexity and more functionality, while the use of open standards offers freedom of choice when it comes to future upgrades and supply.
I keep wondering how much effort it would take to list these on eBay or to cut off most of the bits and sell them on eBay. I was looking at "bags of electronics" sold by the pound. You get a few pounds of switches, transformers, caps, etc... and you can use them for various projects. Those PC power supplies make a great desktop power supply, battery charger, etc... IDK if the math works out, but I use my spare time to try to fix things and if I can't, I pull off the bits and save them for other projects because they are free to me at that point.
that vingtor stentofon ena 2060-dci its part of a train pa system they are still making them in 2022 could be worth something just the button that connects to it costs $1000
You could take off the little gold jumpers off of the motherboards, (maybe you used to, I'm not sure) but they are on the unused pins on nearly all pc motherboards etc and add up nice and quickly (you'd get loads) I love my little pots and trays of depopulated bits and bobs and jumpers would take no value from the board but have nice gold 👍
I have to agree with you, ecommerce generally, has been very slow since the middle of January. I had a bookshop & I was told when I went into it that, "Stock Sells Stock", and have found this applies to an online shop, as well. But The last six weeks have been terrible & I'm adding new stock nearly every day. So buggered if I know.
Sure they can, but considering the time to clean them from plastic vs the weight of the motors it's O.K. to throw them if you have more valuable stuff to deal with, like Ben does.
The reason why the metal prices for aluminum and copper are rising is the war in Ukraine. Bullet cases are made of brass or have brass guide rings. The aluminum is needed for planes and rockets. greetings from Germany

If fan motors are easily removed, they do fill up a bucket quickly for motor prices.
Aarghh.. I want those NUC's ;) Great little PC's! Even if it's older gen, they're still usefull als linux PC's for all kinds of applications.

I spent $2.99 for a dozen eggs at ALDI seems to be getting better in Missouri.

Don't feel shy about making money on buying boards.

Can computer fans go with motors?
Sure they can, but considering the time to clean them from plastic vs the weight of the motors it's O.K. to throw them if you have more valuable stuff to deal with, like Ben does.

there is a world wide shortage of zinc , which is used to produce extruded aluminum , and other aluminium alloys
going to start a channel I'll be THE SCREW REPPER
Do you let all the battery buttons inside when you throw the metal cases ??
They go into scrap metal. I am pretty sure that big the scrap metal recyclers which process it later don't care about that stuff either.
motherboard $5 mid $4 and low $2 a kg but the ram is $20 a kg money money
Hey, Ben, if you make it to America, scrapple is a dish they serve in Pennsylvania. Should be up your alley.
