The copper coils in the power supplies, with a ferite core in it, are very easy to scrap. If you slightly hit the side with a hammer, the ferite core crumples and you can easily pull out the copper with pliers without much force. Just like you do with those relays, only in those copper coils there is a lot more copper!
Come on Guys , don't forget your thumb's ups it takes seconds lads & lasses . Ben as learn most scrappers over the years with his shows all around the world. lol its not costing us nothing to thumbs up. it just makes you remember why the internet must stay for all of us to, each service you loose there gone forever. been old this is like pen pals with the bonus of learning in many ways Ben is one of the good ones not charging to watch him lets keep the good ones, the ones that cheer us up on cold days let's loose no more of our friends. take care .
Hello Ben,, always great to listen to the videos while I have a sit down in the garage,, more or less microscrapping. Pulling goldpins off connectors and laptop batteries.
I think those slightly magnetic risers are nickel plated brass. When I snap them off or file them, they are yellow underneath. The nickel is what’s magnetic.
I was watching a older one of your videos you were giving cardboard 0ver for free. In my town the same company as the scrap metal has another location but they pay by the pound for it. From anyone. The price the last time I checked was the same as steel sheet 8 to 11 cents per pound. We don't usually have very much but all helps. Great stuff thanks for the content
Greetings to you, sir. I am from Iraq, Baghdad. I love you and your work very much. My dream is to be near you and work with you at all times. This is my dream. I hope your work is nice and I love it very much. You are a good man and I love you. I hope you fulfill my wish to be with you in your country.❤❤❤❤❤❤
Watching you discard so many fans - a thought occurred to me. Find a piece of pipe slightly bigger than most fan motors and put a bit of an edge on it's rim - Place the pipe over the fan and hit it hard with a mallet - all the blades removed at once and you have a scrap motor. No more breaking the fan blades off one at a time. I'm also wondering if you'd benefit from making a case compacter for yourself to flatten all the PC cases down so you can put 3 times as much steel in your van at once and take up a lot less space. You might also benefit from a commercial shredder to break down all your plastic into chips for easy & compact disposal.
Hey mate - could I please recommend you lighten your drill? Go for a small 12V variety - will have much less weight and save your hand with the screwdriver. At your volume it's definitely worth it in my opinion. That 18v you currently have, the battery alone would weigh more then the 12V skin with battery.
Hey Ben. I recently got a lot of military communication scrap. These circuit boards have a ton of gold in them think. Kinda curious what i should do with them.

I enjoy stripping powersupplies for fun. I store the components in jars in case the grandchildren need items for art etc.
Awsome👍👍👍👍👍
I noticed you reside in victoria are there any places you can recommend to go to for selling your scrap metal, cpu's ect?
You should consider checking what generation riser you have in them and sell them for cheap . People look for that stuff .

actually that ws-c6504-e isnt cheap device, u should really check the price of those items u know before u destroy it.
If he could read..
It was 20 years old! It has residual value only. Notice the 256 meg cards!! Beyond obsolete.
meh... get into recycling reality and then you will see possibility to resale ... good luck and enjoy
cheers scrappers
