Cam bolt. The way the cam bolt is threaded creates a weak point and the top of the bolt cracks off under pressure. More common with baggers due to the cases being a bit different. This is what I was told by the service manager at my dealership.

Dan The Chippie Hey there Dan, sorry about that. Didn’t realize that I could only post 10min videos but I can definitely make another with the accessories. Hi, what BMW bike did to you end up buying
Ended up with a 2019 bmw grand America. Amazing bike but sold it and bought a 2009 vrod and couldn’t be happier
@@patrickgagne8795 I am now thinking about getting the BMW R18 now
@@AL-zu1gf it’ll blow your mind. I will say this, buy one that’s slightly used. I’ll never ever buy a brand bike again.
@@patrickgagne8795 Pat, how will the BMW R18 compare to a 2022 Fatboy would you think?
@@AL-zu1gf they’re totally different bikes. I love the look of the r18 and you very rarely see any on the road. However, I suggest taking both for a run and see which one “talks” to you. The one thing is accessories will be much easier and more options with the FB. Big time. BMW accessories are crazy $$ even compared to hd.
Are those pipes called VH big shots staggered?
It is. I heard from a few folks saying that VH are not offering them anymore. Not sure why they would discontinue them.
Surely a Badass Fatboy 🔥
Did you need to stage up to stage 4 or were you able to go straight to stage 4 from stock?
Straight to stage 4 from stock.
Wait holdup, the bigshots fit the Fat Boy? VnH and Revzilla said they didnt.
I might have to check those pipes out.
Which version of the BigShots did you get?
FranBunnyFFXII weird, I bought them from revzilla. These are the big shot staggered. Part number P648829. Only thing is had to get a passenger peg relocator. Fit perfect even with a stage 4 kit.
@@patrickgagne8795 do you have the part number for the pass relocate kit to fit the vance and hines long shots
@@liberaldasilva529 turns out the it was in the stock position. You were able to get the pipes? Virtually impossible to find these days and vh stopped making them
@@patrickgagne8795 This is years later but I checked Revzilla and they still make this exhaust P648829. That 648829 is the revzilla number and you can still get it. They make a new version now with the cross over chamber.
@@FranBunnyFFXII oh nice. People are still asking about those pipes and now have somewhere to direct them to. Thanks a million
I have a question is the stage 4 like a customization?
It’s an engine upgrade offered by harley. They change the heads, cylinders, can, lifters and throttle body. Goes from a 114ci to a 117
@@patrickgagne8795 Oh ok i see. Nice. Thank you for the info😎
How much did it run you to do the stage 4 on this bad boy
Was pricey. Almost $5000 out the door. Honestly, unless you plan to keep the bike a long time, it’s not worth it. I traded the bike in and was considered less valuable then a stock one. Even though it falls under the main warranty...???? Crazy.
@@patrickgagne8795 wow! Good to know. I plan on keeping the fat boy since it’s my first (bike) but I’ll just end up doing a big radius and swapping the air filter to a Arlon ness heavy breather and apes to call it a day. Just love the sound of the stage 4 but I guess swapping the heads will just be fine as well
@@patrickgagne8795 I wonder why even under warranty for a complete stage 4 it didn’t hold trade value. How many miles was it when you decided to part ways with it? That’s crazy. I bet they sold it for a lot more than what you got. I seen a 2012 fat boy in my area with 12k miles selling for $12,500.. might as well just buy a new one.. Harley is just hurting for a sale and money
@@lethalinjection.zo6312 ended up trading it for a 2019 BMW k1600b grand America. They listed it for 19k and it sat for about a month. Ended selling for 18k.
@@patrickgagne8795 do you remember how much miles was on the bike prior to trading it in?
Ah man the video stopped before you finished. Great review and I love your bike. The fatboy is king. I'm gonna ask a stupid question but what is a stage 4 and what does it do? Honest question. Can you show pictures of bike with all the accessories on it
Dan The Chippie Hey there Dan, sorry about that. Didn’t realize that I could only post 10min videos but I can definitely make another with the accessories. A stage 4 kit is an engine kit from screaming eagle. They basically replace everything from the cases up. Cylinders, heads, pistons etc etc. Pricey upgrade but packs a bunch
Please add the rest of your video with the accessories. I just purchased the Vivid Black 2020 Fatboy and interested in seeing everything on this bike. Thanks
SteungLeap nice!! Let me see what I can put up
Dan The Chippie just posted a video of the accessories if you’re interested.
SteungLeap just posted a video of the accessories for ya
Where did you go to get the exhaust installed??
jonathan maynard Bought the pipes via revzilla and Bartel’s HD out of marina del Rey installed them when they did the stage 4. For some reason, Vance and Hines says they won’t fit but they did no problem. Only thing is the passenger peg needed a relocate bracket
Patrick Gagne ok good to know because i live in Anaheim and none of the hd dealers around here will install them
What’s it putting down for numbers
David Colby Not sure. Haven’t had it on a dyno yet. She’s quick though :)
But who wants to ride that Bad boy in a subtle manner. Loud pipes save lives! 😅😂
lol true story
Sounds like the dude that blew the engine needs to throttle it back a bit. Any mechanical engine on any vehicle will eventually break if you constantly beat on it. Cracking it every once in awhile is good and fun, but seriously who has to ride like that? Love the VH pipes by the way.....sounds incredible.
Agreed, however he had a dyna with a 103 that he rode for years without any issues..?? Personally, I had zero issues with it.
Sounds fantastic bro.
jwrappuhn71 thanks man
More videos for this beaut!
Wilbert Ignacio you bet. Getting drag bars this week. Was going to do a vid on it
I will forward you 2 UPS labels, one for the bike and one for the car then...
Frank Verel lmao. That was good
That's a motorbike... MERCI
Beast Love that stage 4 kit
nathan foster it’s pretty bad ass. However, they’re shunned on when trying to sell. Weird
@@patrickgagne8795 That is strange I would think that would bring bees to the honey pot?? Love the pipes are they freedom or Vans and Hines
nathan foster ya I couldn’t believe it. Had an sgs and fat boy and same issue. Those are VnH pipes. Sounds amazing however I don’t have the bike anymore. I’m over HD and bought a bmw.
@@patrickgagne8795Nice if I was to get a BMW have to be the R Nine T they are cool especially that boxer engine pls post a vid of your new ride mate :)
@@nathanfoster2679 That's a killer bike. You have good taste man..lol I got the K1600B Grand America. Want to get a few more miles on it before doing a review. So far, love it but man it's a big bike lol
If I wasn't so tall at 6'4 I'd get a FatBoy but find it too small. My Sport Glide suits me much better but the FatBoy is cool. 😎
Totally agree. At 6’4, you have better options in my opinion
Ordered mine in Sydney Oz
No shit! Brother, so many people want those pipes and can’t get them.
I couldnt believe it in the end he was willing to pussify the bike and F up the whole badass look of the bike with that shield and some kind of ugly protruding back rest ? sissy bar haha, just not something I would do to my 2016 Fatboy no bags no windshield and no seat extentions for me but I ride with a badass full face HD helmet that I absolutely love makes riding in the rain a joy. I dont care how I look riding as long as it doesnt interfere with how my bike loooks.
Tim Neisen
Hahaha. Well good for you man but don’t be a douche about how other enjoy riding. We all love riding and that’s all that counts
"Screw em" ... nice
Fantastic vid. Just hearing the VH sounds like a hog should. The Fat boy is my second choice my heart is with Road king special. However the Fat boy is just so f*#ing cool!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hey Patrick,
Nice FB! I have a 2020 RGS that feels like a pig and was thinking of trading it in for the 30th fatboy all blacked out. Sounds like I wouldn’t be disappointed as you came from a similar situation. I’m up in SF area and we don’t have the 131 kit available either otherwise I would slap that bad boy in out of the gate. Did you get a deal on your Fattie in souther California? Would love to see more on your FB
Steve Gutierrez Hey Steve, good buying time. Sales at harley are pretty brutal but you might take a big cut on the trade in. I love my FB. Was worth taking a hit from my 2019 sgs. Such an awesome bike. Might be worth tripping into Oregon to buy one and get the 131 kit. The 117 is stellar but...131...oh boy. One thing though, FB seem to fit people shorter then 6’.
Patrick Gagne Yeah I’m only 5’ 8 myself. I would keep RGS for now, then sell in summer if the Fatboy turns out to be the one. I have lined up the 30th anniversary for $23K OTD which I feel is pretty good, but negotiated that price prior to the shelter in place went into effect. Wonder if I could squeeze about a bit more now. If I were to buy in Nevada or Oregon how would I register it here in California? Would love to get the 131 kit out of the gate.
Steve Gutierrez 23k otd is a stellar price. Would be hard to beat. You can buy the bike in Az and register in California. Just go to the dmv once you have it in the state.
👍👍👍👍
Beautiful bike and sounds great!
I like the car too! :-)
BadAss Bike
bob clapper thx Bob. Mucho appreciated
Sick!
Troppo belle
Oh yeah she loud
Sounds like a prostock! Lol
