hi cristen...I read your tears problem and I would like to help you if the problem still exists.I am from greece and my previous shih tzu girl had serious problems with tears that made her face being dirty all the time, smelling bad etc....I could do nothing no matter how hard I tried and the groomer suggested me that I should shave a very small place below her eyes and above her nose...I first said no because it didn't seem to me to be a good idea but the problem was still there so I decided it
I don't think that this has to do with the food you're giving to her but very often, in some shih tzus, there is some hair coming out of the corner of their eyes, it's actually in their eyes and that creates tears all the time....My new, baby girl Rozalie, has not such a problem and so no tears at all......:)))
I have a Lhasa Apso Cassie. She is very good no trouble at all she is 3years old very inelegant we have to spell things she knows what we say I tack her every where even. In 5he hospital to visit my husband all the staff love her
My dog had that length. My husband got her buzzed at the trimmer. She looked so bad.

Continue: Well, finally I found the solution...That was it.....A very small spot shaved carefully and no more tears or dirt or bad smell or bacteria etc....And looked so so so beutiful and clean and fresh all the time...So in case your problem still exists please talk to a groomer and do that....Of course this has to be done by a pro groomer as it is a very difficult spot for short nose dogs...I hope I helped you...Have a nice day!

I'm not into animals at all but somehow you got me hooked to Winnie. She's such a cutie. Thanks for sharing those videos with us, I really enjoy them.
Hi Jen, love watching your videos about Winnie she is so precious! I have a little girl shihtzu named Chloe she is the same colour as Winnie. I was also wondering what type of dog food you feed her? Chloe just turned a year old and since than has gotton really bad tearstains, it is driving me crazy! I have tried all the tearstain remover products but nothing helps was wondering if maybe the food I feed her has something to do with it? She is on Wellness.
Why don't you cut her hair? Ponytails can be kind of painful if on for too long.
We sure did miss little Winnie but completely understand how busy life can get. Winnie is absolutely beyond precious. I really love seeing her go through all the cute puppy stages. I'm hoping to see in the 7-month-old footage that she succeeds in making it up on the sofa!! Thanks for taking the extra time necessary to edit all of her puppy footage. I know how editing can sometimes be a pain. Thanks again for sharing your sweet Winnie with us!

Great video! You can really see the difference in her fur at this stage. Oh the bubbles are great to play with. Here in the UK, they do bubble machines and mixtures for dogs to play with. I loved her playing with the balloons it just shows how smart she is, very clever indeed. Looking forward to the 7 months video.
watching this in 2013...missed all of her videos! my puppy got six months old last september 6...it's like september 8 now..my puppy and Winnie looks like the same! the color is just different..mine is black and white..
Great to see you and your gorgeous girl Winnie, love the flash back videos it reminds me of my little treasure Essie she too is a shih tzu and the love of my life not only mine the entire family .She had four beautiful pups four weeks ago and to say i am a proud and doting grandmother is an understatement .i love the relationship you and Don have with Winnie there is just something about shih tzus they are so human like and they love to be with you .Once again thank you I love all your channels

My Shih tzu is over eight yrs old Emily and she still plays and is very active -never a dull moment :)
I tell u I could be an advocate for this breed they are so smart and learn a lot of words! I also have a brother dog Toby who is also a Shih tzu and he is very vocal lol we love them very much!
