Hello All,
In today's video I thought I'd give my honest opinion on the M140i and what I think of it in the 9 months of ownership. For a car that's less than £40,000 I can't think of anything better. Let me know what you think in the comments.

Second hand 1 year old these are a steal! 23K with only a few thousand on the clock

I can not agree more mate. Mine has now been delivered and I had the shadow in Black with the auto, pro nav, heated seats and folding mirrors and I love it. Massive thanks to your brother for looking after me through the process as mine was factory order. Mega channel keep it up and tracks for the content 👍🏻👍🏻

REAL TORQUE I can’t fault them at all. You hit the nail on the head when you said how it can go from hoonigan to civil at the flick of a switch. I explain it to people that the car is like Jekyll and Hyde

Great review mate! I have a similar rattle from the passenger door on mine which on mine is the doorcard.
I think the lap around the Nurburgring with you was the final check on my list which made me buy one. Such capable cars that tick so many boxes. Looking forward to more videos 👍🏻

Superb review thanks. I'm saving up for one of these which brought me to your Channel. Drove an M135i last week at a BMW dealer in Bristol but decided to wait a bit longer for the 140i. Think I'll go for a stage 1 remap though. Cheers, Jon.

Thanks for another great video. I'm just about to order my M140i and I'm nearly 55. If you love performance cars in your 20's you'll love them at any age. Getting older doesn't mean you should drive a Honda Jazz, but you're right that younger drives will mod their cars differently to an older driver. One of LLF videos featured a driver in his 70's and he modified his 140 to produce over 600hp. Keep the vid's coming!

Andrew Lee I'm looking at one of these as a second car, and I'm 75 so don't give up hope LOL. Why as a second car? My eight year old Skoda Octavia VRS (stage 1 remapped) is so much more practical, it's diesel and at 139,000 miles it's still got a long way to go but you got to love REAL TORQUE's enthusiasm, it's infectious.

Great vid.....im 48 and still love nailing mine when im at the front of traffic lights as the sound is awesome. Ive even had a golf gti driver come up at the side of me and gave me a nod lol

@@realtorque Thank you for your thoughts, its a bit too late for me as the decision has already been made & signature provided but, nice to know I have support. Ex Biker here complete with plates rods & screws in various parts of my body . 65 very, very soon & my first Hooligan Hot Hatch sinse my 1986 XR3i. She arrives tomorrow to replace my 6Series F12 which I just havent used (less than 1000 miles in 3 years) & I cant wait to bury my foot in the carpet & listen to the music care of Uncle Remus (ordered on Monday) Will I get a stage one map? absolutely, will I get a 450HP+ Stage 2 map? Quite Possibly. A silly question if I may : is there a Oil & or coolant temp read-out on the dash in real time?

I recently bought a 3 year old 5 door M140i with 27k recently. It’s in the grey with red seats. Extras include Harmon Kardon, pro nav, cruise, privacy glass, heated seats & front parking aids. 1 owner and in amazing condition. I think it is a steal, so much car for the money. The straight 6 sounds amazing. The Harmon Kardon is wasted really as I tend to drive with windows down with no music so I can listen to that engine. I also love the understated looks, always liked wolfs in sheep’s clothing or a street sleeper and the M140i is this. Perfectly docile as a daily and then a proper drivers car when you prod the loud pedal.

I feel the m140i should of been looking the same as a 1 series like @realtorque and myself say “wolf in sheep skin”. I’ve got my eye on one 100%. Great videos mate. All I do now is look at vids of m140i videos
I’ve got one myself and I love it, although depreciation does seem to be quite high now, all these amazing deals that are offered really do have an impact on residual value, I got a great deal on mine and I’ve had it for 14 months, and there’s no way I’d be able to even consider getting rid of it due to the huge negative equity I still find myself in, even though I got it extremely cheap, Other than that I love the car.
Have you got the auto or manual because ive just got a 120i M sport got just over 1000 miles on the clock and i'm only getting between 27 28 MPG

Cleaning my car I noticed mine has two small radiators left and right, now I understand it's for cooling but on some m140i's it only has one on the left.....what are they cooling?

Grant Palmer I’ve had a M135i and M140i and now an S3. If you turn off the ESP then I can assure you it isn’t boring! We are blessed at the moment with such a good choice of insane hot hatches that all offer so much. Don’t think any are what you would call boring😏

I bought one March 2020 for exactly £20k , a one owner from new, with 14,260 miles on.
Auto, adaptive suspension, HK stereo.
Absolute bargain, and after a remap, it's ridiculously fast.
I'm not into 'shouty' cars, and this is perfect.

have just got 2017 lidium grey champagne leather 5 door version is a rocket best car ever had better than any other hot hatch don't know going to do the msport kit

It’s doable for sure! Auto in 8th gear 70mph you’ll get 40

I know this video is 2 years old now, but did you ever sort out that rattle? I ask because I had the same problem. Took me 2 months to figure out that it was a 2 pence piece dropped into the air vent underneath the passenger seat but my granddaughter. Drove me crazy until I figured it out so check the air vent underneath seats to see if anything is rattling lose in there

KariahLuke MacChan in terms of space I think the CTR is far better and defo trumps the m140

REAL TORQUE thanks, I prefer CTR anyway but rear only have2 seat belts in rear tho ? :( drive ability...fun, handling ability ? I am v basic ‘fast’ driver. Insurance cost and depreciation inCTR favour I think. Reliability will be CTR. Where you recommend to buy new / 2nd hand? My Edinburgh local Honda dealer? Cheers
KariahLuke MacChan I would say yes this is the car for you. Yes you only have 4 seats in total. A dealer would be best but try to find with a service plan
REAL TORQUE 135/145i do seat 3 legally....as 3 belts. Know where could get a set of safety belt fitted to CTR to make legal? As it does have more space for rear passengers right? Ask for what kind of Service plan? Be back in UK next summer where will buy a car
I have an M135i; you can’t go wrong with these cars.
Sound is too rumbly and it's hard to hear you. When I turn you up the background rumble is too heavy.
I love my M140i, not on track yet but soon...❤️

GB hey mate, really appreciate that! And the last 2000 miles it’s been low 20’s
GB but I do drive it hard
I’ve averaged 25mpg in my M240i over 6k miles with a real mixed bag of driving it hard, urban and a small amount of motorway driving 🙂

If your driving regular motorways you can easily achieve mid 30's. I'm averaging 36mpg over 9k in my 240i

Not a bad car. What I look at in a car (considering I'm 20 like you 😂) is something quick, not bad on fuel and tax and looks. At the moment I'm liking the audi TTS. 2 litre turbo 268hp, 5.2 secs to 60mph, tax is just £250 and its claimed 47mpg with the DSG box. Sadly this will be in a few years time as Im still in education and don't plan on working during that.

Hey Jack, at the moment I have a mk6.5 fiesta zetec s 1.6 diesel. I'm paying £1270 for insurance with 2 years ncb. My renewal is soon and been quoted £980 (when I get my 3rd year NC) however seen some slightly cheaper quotes. The audi I was talking about I might consider getting later on in a few years time ;)

Nathan Knight hi buddy you can VT when half of the total amount is payable is payed. You can sell the car before hand and if there is negative equity you’d have to pay the difference

That's not an apples to apples test. The 2013 C63 is five years old, these are brand new.
No lie, the old C63s will cost you a fortune to run and enjoy the AMG tax.
Silus Jackson yeah no doubt it will cost a lot more to run. It's the only thing stopping me buy one, £555 tax, fuel every other day and sky high insurance, maintenance, tyres etc etc

If you look at other hot hatchbacks it's price is very good. There are (almost) no other 6-cylinder hatchbacks, that are RWD or look as stunning as a M140i.

Good vid bud. Ordered my M140i this week. Like you I was in negative by 2-3k. Had to pay 1k deposit and then another grand when I collect the car in two months. Ended up being £463 a month. Specced 3 door shadow edition in estoril blue, adaptive suspension, adaptive led lights, heated seats, pro nav, front/rear sensors and folding mirrors. Didn’t think it was too bad a deal really. Can’t wait! 👌🏻

This is going to sound fucked but I'm stuck between 140i manual and 370z nismo. Both similar price second hand where I am. I have a soft spot for the nismo but they are slow, even with a supercharger. M140i with a chip can do 420bhp with ease and is more practical but I don't like the look. Odd predicament 😂

What's bothering me is that there's no harman kardon/adaptive damper option for m140i in my area. While the sound system, HUD, keyless entry blah blah blah are all standard on 430i gran coupe, really hard to choose.
