Thanks for watching!
I’m turning 78 in a month and have been feeling old and limited. I needed this. Thanks Bob and Lindy for the much needed inspiration.
Early happy birthday 🎂🎉
I am right there with you, friend! I am going to the RTR in January to check it out!
Happy Birthday, go see the United States. Go see all the West Coast. Everything on a Van, it's a dream.no hotel get water tank shower, and Foldable toilet u good to go💯
Timgoodsell- I'm only 67 and I needed it too. It seems to be purely a state of mind.
We gotta just keep going even when family thinks we are nuts!😊
If you are in fairly good physical health, you have to believe in yourself and broaden your horizons. Get exercise and eat to live so that you can get out and do things. Visit libraries and read. You don't have to check out books. Read part of a book and put it back on the shelf. If it really interests you, go back and read some more of the same book. If it has been checked out, start another book and repeat the process. Volunteer at a charity business such as Boys and Girls Club stores or a food pantry. Make your life more interesting for you and others will benefit from the good deeds you do.
I love the spirit of folks who don't let age keep them from living life.
Lindy is my step-sister and I am so proud of her. If I were a driver, which I'm not, I'd be living in a van. Hey Bob! I told Lindy to tell you that I'm a big fan of your channel. Happy Holidays to you and and all the CheapRVLiving crew.
You sound just as wonderful as your sister😇😇
She’s awesome!
She's a cool lady. I've been a subscriber to her channel for quite awhile now and love her spirit and her stories.
Lindy is a lovely woman. And, lucky to have a supportive step-sister.
Maybe you and Lindy could travel and live together...just need to make room for a bigger bed
Lindy is a great positive person, and she is absolutely right in what she says, her van works for her and is just the way she wants it, which probably wouldn't suit anyone else, but it's her van, she made it for herself and this is how SHE wants it to be.
I hate. Running water...also...I m 300 watts of solar...NO PLUMBING...NO TANKS...MINAMILIST...like Lindy...very thorough spongè baths....the way bathing has,ALWAYS been done...Think about it....that's how you wash your babies and Toddlers....Americans(I know,I lived overseas) are overly Obessed with....showers Geezz...And I m same age as,Lindy...been living in my Skoolie,for FIVE YEARS
I'm 80 year old widow, not full-time but do travel pulling a teardrop 6 months or longer a year. Love it!!!!
Ok time for my annual story about an experience I had a couple of years ago. I've just started full time vanlife (Ram Promaster High Top) and at the time I was still a bit stressed about the new lifestyle. I just pulled into the parking lot at Cracker Barrell in Flagstaff , got out to stretch my legs a bit when a truck camper (truck with the removable RV shell on the back) pulled in. Nose first and then the lady decided she'd rather reverse in. So I helped with directions. Afterwards she got out, walked over to thank me. She was little (5ft and not an inch more) , told me that she was 85 and has been doing this for the last 15 years. Yes , she started at 70. She told me that all her friends are dead and those who are not dead just sit and stare in front of them. She continued by saying that one day they'll just find her in her truck camper, and that is fine by her. When she walked off I thought to myself, Wow I'm pushing 60 and I think that I just met my very first role model.
Thank you SO much for that story. I love you for that...your first role model 👍👌🥰...mine too! 😊💜
Great story! Thanks for sharing
How inspiring 😊
I've been following Lindy for awhile. She is so correct. It ain't easy. I just got a cargo trailer. I'm 75 and can't wait to get started making it my home. I too love solar. You go girl!!
When my time comes to start my journey I will eventually get into a cargo trailer ( I've been watching them on FB market place and Craigs list) and omg, they are so expensive and they are used to boot. But maybe by the time I'm ready to move into one they will become lower in price
Bob has so many helpful videos- many in category Playlists, well worth a visit before you commit to any layout. Have fun❤
We have a 78 year old out here, in her van. I feel she’s an inspiration to all who want to see freedom.
Free as we will ever be, although my camper ( exterior only finish on my tiny home ) is stationary. The camper can go when I'm ready! 😂
Enjoy life to ALL, especially my alternative living friends- 💗 🌎 💙
@tracymeskel2839 Hey, one more thing, I think you should start posting some stuff on your channel. I would love to see it. ❤️
Need organizers
“My mother never took me to another Dr…and I’m alive today” love this
I like her! She uses unconventional things for storage, she makes use of her space, has her power stations, different types for different uses……I was trying to tell people in my life this is how you make a life like this work!! Now I have proof! I’m going to watch her channel!!
Thank you for sharing, Lindy! I’m 45 & was recently diagnosed with lupus. I’m stubborn too, and I’m not going to let it keep me from living my dream! ☮️💖
Good for you😊
She did a really good job making her space livable and comfy. You can tell her spirit really loves being on the road.
I’m 75. I heat with wood. Just brought my wood in for the next 5 days. Great van with a strong woman.
She is a hero for lots of old guys.
I’m 71 and I’m doing just this. I like this lady. And she is right. Make it work for you not for everybody else! I’ve been doing this since 2015❗️🙏🕊🙏
Lindy, Figured out how to live in a small space. She built it out with what she had available and makes it work for her. She has a sort of nest with everything she needs within her reach. She identifies with her living arrangement and is both minded with her van and satisfied with her system for living. She knows that if she weakens physically or cognitive lying that she might not be able to sustain her nomadic life. She uses a cane and walker in part. Apparently she has a son who provides some support for her. She is proud of her independence and is very aware of the contingencies many people face associated with loneliness and depression. Wellness checks are essential for the aged who live alone in cars vans campers and such. She does have a very strong life strength and positive attitude that will help her through many obstacles associated with the process of ageing.
Thanks Wendy for letting me know how to live freely as a senior.
Bob, I’m going to repeat myself, you find the best of the best in your travels. Down to earth, grounded, salt of the Earth people! Again, I thank you for your continued effort, and explaining the wide ranges fof van life
she's cool. knows what she wants, knows what she needs, knows what she loves. can't beat it.
I'm 65. I love this lady. 😊❤
Another great interview, Bob. Great woman and great spirit. Shows that with the right mindset you can get a great life.
Lindy has a great spirit and doesn't sugarcoat anything. Vanlife is not for everyone and she doesn't pretend it is. I really watching her channel and admire her thirst for adventure. Camo.
Such inspiration. Thanks for talking to Lindy! What excuse do I have now?
God bless her ! Good attitude. I get my stubbornness from my parents, God rest their souls. My dad was a marine in his youth, strong and honorable. And my mom was energetic and smart. I am 62 with leukemia for over 20 years now, I took care of myself with the excellent start my parents gave me, staying healthy. I now have room mates temporarily that I don't get along with and in my two co op apartments there is always neighbors and street noise . I would LOVE quiet. I am a nomad and I am also taking steps for my life. Good luck Linda !
Semper Fi to your dad, USMC 72 to 76.
I'm the same age I'll be 63 in June. I sold my house that was paid for I regret it now I lived in my RV for a couple of years but bought a house last year only now I have payments. I'm going to sell my RV and I have a 19 foot pull behind I'm going to sell & hopefully buy a Van and build it out so I can travel some. What state are you in? I have a room I'm going to rent it's really quiet here I have a river across the street it's a nice little town in NC about 45 miles to North Myrtle Beach.
Totally get her being uncomfortable in houses and loving smaller spaces! Thanks for sharing this gem of a person. I just loved her openness to share with us 💎 ❤!
I'm trying to understand her discomfort with houses.
It's just being tied down I think.
@@gweger6425 because they are too big
I adore her! Please tell me you helped her plug up her hole, Bob 😅. Good for her living her best life at 76. Just wonderful! ❤
I had a RunAway and WeeRoll. Starting a cargo conversion soon. Am 68 and the new one will be my home. Love you Bob and Lindy!
Love how Assured and swift she is
I'm in the process of building mine right now! Can't wait to get it done!
This lady is an inspiration to all who want this life! What a doll!!
✌️♥️😀
Everybody loves Lindy!
I've been following Lindy for awhile. She tells it like it is!
It would be a hard life for the elderly.
She has a pioneer spirit. Any obstacle she comes up against, she knows she can handle it. Strength and confidence
Lindy is an inspiration. Doing it her way. As we all should.
You go Lindy!! Live your best life!!❤️
I like that she doesn't sugarcoat anything.
She give so much confidence in me and others Bob people thank her so very much … she makes anything possible with courage and strength💯
I love this lady. She has a very similar mentality that I do. Ms Lindy has the most wonderful spirit and outlook. I love it.
She is a delight! What a lovely lady ❤
This lady is an inspiration.
She could also try flex seal . used flexi seal tape to seal up the sunroof that leaked on an old suburban i had .
It's so hard to find van videos that reflect this diy side of van life. This is my favorite build so far.
Positivity is a huge plus.
I sub to her. Lindy is fiercely independent and a wonderful lady. Rock on Lindy! I’m full time too and respect her very much.
I LOVE this lady. I love her enthusiasm, courage, guts and honesty! What an inspiration! I'm 60 and living in a home with an RV for vacay and this lady is my new favorite for inspiration on what is possible! thank you Lindy!
You're an amazing & brave women, Lindy! I very much admire your courage & the determination to make it happen & work for you! Mahalo nui loa foIr you both! Much love!
She look very good and healthy God blessed her😇
I turned 54 last August. And I can’t work anymore. I worked as an ICU RN. Until I got Covid and it destroyed my body. I walk with a quad cane now & I am having to go on the road. I’m looking forward to it. I am looking for a place to live right now. Van vs Camper truck. I have watched so many videos. But watching this one has encouraged me to relax and find a van that will work with me. I find Lindy very inspiring. I will be following her site from now on. Thank you.
Thank you, Bob! I found Lindy awhile ago and subscribed and became a member. She's a terrific lady! I love her stories. ❤ Lindy!
Lindy makes some excellent points especially regard costs to do van life. When she said most people do not have the funds to buy an expensive van ( RV, my words). That reminds me of the Tiny House dilemma where unless you have access to $100K be it from the sale of a home or Life Insurance policy most that lifestyle becomes a dream. The longer it takes to save for that lifestyle prices, the more that lifestyle increases. Congrats to Lindy and may she enjoy many more years of freedom.
Yes. That whole Tiny House on wheels thing is just a crazy expensive way to build a travel trailer.
Inspirational as heck to say the least ! She said it , it's all in the mind ! I have everything to do it BUT my mind set is to do nothing in the confort of my home , what am i waiting for 😮 ? To not being able to do it & then whish i had ?
I've followed Lindy a while I adore her and her channel she's a beautiful lady. Thanks Bob
I've seen her before and love her attitude 😊
Thanks for sharing today
Yes! What an inspiration.
Very interesting comversation, thanks Bob

So glad you interviewed Lindy she is a wonderful lady and I love her channel.
This lady inspires me.
Such a wonderful, inspirational Soul she is 👃
Love her pioneer spirit!
Thanks Wendy and Bob! What am I waiting for?😊
I LOVE LINDY! Please go give her a follow!
I've followed Lindy for a while, one of my favorites!
GOD BLESS LINDY. She's AWESOME.
Inspiring interview, thank you for sharing her story and tour with us.
Such a lovely lady. Absolutely love her down to earth, easy living arrangement. She has made a home to suit her needs and comfort. She is a genius.
Some might say society puts pressure on us to want and feel we need more. This lovely lady knows what she wants and needs. Not only that she has it. ❤
My own is far from fancy. As a northerners my needs in terms of insulation, HVAC are a little more demanding.
I wasted some money on stuff I really didn't need, consequently don't use.
For the mist part it was a matter of putting in a heating system when I figured out what might work best for me and when I needed it.
More and more folks are needing to find a way to live in reasonable comfort at an affordable cost.
Housing in Canada is out of reach for the average person not to mention folks on pension, disability or minimum wage.
I am going to share this video. Gaining confidence in living a good life on small budget lifts a person's spirit.
Every so often someone says to me, " Oh, I could never live like that and I know they are right, they could not, at least not without an attitude change. There are many ways to measure success. I don't think success is truly achieved when we set a standard of living that exceeds more than we really need.
She gives the best advice! Thank you for the words of wisdom.
I love how you have everything within reach ❤ great digs and great spirit!
Stay stubborn as long as you can. I watched my mom go from a cane to a walker to the wheelchair in less than 6 months because she basically gave up... "Never give up, never surrender!"
I know you posted this some time ago. My mom just moved from stage to stage and wanted to go and join my dad, who had passed. She was tired and she was done. That's OK. She is dancing now, with my dad, over there, forever.
Hooray, Spirit of 76!!!
I absolutely love her honesty! From my own experience, I concur, It's NOT easy. Thank you, Lindy, for your honesty.
Thank you for this video!!
She looks and reminds me of my mother in her 50's, She looks Great at 76yrs of age.
Living van life will allow you to save...$$$$ 👍
I wish you all the best 👍
My mother is 76yrs old and she can't walk anymore, She has several health issues.
Remember, Once your mobility is gone, Now you have a problem.
please set a goal, plan ahead. Time just keeps on rolling.
Be safe. Take care .❤
Great video Bob, such an inspiration. I'm definitely going to get that tar for some of my cracks. Love my solar ❤ so true about running water. I absolutely love Tiny Spaces only way i feel at home.
I feel we're the new generations of pioneers
Another great interview, thank you Bob and Lindy.
What a beautiful blessing this lady is.
She reminds me a bit of my parents and grandparents, in various ways. Survivors, creative thinkers - hard stock, they were.
This woman may live to be 100 and still living & loving the nomad life.
I too like small spaces, and tend to view space as a challenge to be functional in. Oddly, I do feel a bit claustrophobic in a full elevator. 🤔 Or folks camping near me.
...."I did what I could with the money that I have....." simple like that but impossible for many. This Lady knows how life works. Thank you for sharing.
I like that she's in the van by choice.
And the thing about living this way is that it forces you to move... to lift... to be out in nature... and those 3 things really help keep a person young and healthy. I bet if we were to compare a 76 year old living this lifestyle for a year vs. a 76 year old living in a home for a year, the differences in biomarkers would be significant. Good on ya, Lindy!!
Great conversation! I’m with you Lindy ~ keep it simple!
Love ya!❤
Amen sister!!! It’s not easy!! It’s a can do mind set!! Good for you! Keep on!!
Lindey, is awesome, and a true inspiration to living on the road. Personally i live in a 23ft Class C RV, but i get awesome ideas from people likke this. We are all simply trying to survive, and live the best life we can, and she has opened my eyes to new ideas, and ways to do things. Lindey, you are awesome, and i would love to, some day, meet you....that would be awesome. Good luck to you, and you go girl :)
Living in a van keeps her active. She can’t sit on a recliner watching tv all day that’s for sure:). Lindy wishing you safe and healthy on the road and only good people show up in your life👍
I appreciate her candor.
I love Lindy's channel!!! She's such a joy to watch and she I love her videos!❤❤❤❤
Good morning from Godley Texas, another great interview Bob. Life is what we make, so make your dreams become reality. Stay safe and happy travels 😎
Just right down the road from you in Cleburne!
I live in an old Class C, and it is packed. Eventually I will downsize to a van. Right now, I am like Jacob Marley's ghost.
GREAT JOB LINDY, THANKS BOB!
Enjoyed Lindy and her story. She looks happy and content. I appreciate you Bob that you give us a lot of different tours. I hope to a lot of Nomads down the road.
