I love this! Thank you for preaching about this so much. I used to have borderline/high blood pressure - and I always dismissed it as “white coat syndrome.” 😬 I started paying closer attention to my health, consistently exercising, lost 130 pounds (!!🎉). Now my BP is excellent! (From 134/82 to 112/66!)

I didn’t think I needed BP meds due to a healthy lifestyle, even though my readings were slightly elevated. A friend, in better shape than me, said “why wouldn’t you start meds? It may ease the damage to your system before it’s too late.” Thinking of it in that way helped me, and I’m currently on low-dose meds. It takes some effort to continue fine tuning the nutrition piece. But, like you, Jordan, friends have died due to unknown heart issues potentially caused by high BP. This is a great reminder!

Been around 10% BF for years. Bodybuilder physique without being crazy peeled. Got hit with a BP scare in 2021 even though I looked extremely healthy on the outside. You got me to start checking it consistently - added cardio in (being a stubborn lifter this was a big one) + daily steps, made a huge difference in my numbers. If you’re an American man, please for the love of God check your BP.

I just had my first high blood pressure read. I felt a little frustrated because my doctors don’t seem to be taking it very seriously. So I scheduled another appointment to have my blood pressure red and it was high again. I often feel like I have to advocate for myself and honestly, if I hadn’t watched your video, I don’t know that I would have been pushing and advocating as hard as I have. So now I am tracking on my own at home and it has been consistently high. If I let them just blow me off, who knows what could happen so I am thanking you for the awareness. If not for it then I don’t know that I would have had the information and tools to know HOW to advocate for myself. I have two young kids too. Thank you ❤.

Thanks a lot. I watch/follow a lot of fitness experts but I have noticed that generally all of them are young and no one has any health issues as such. I am 54 years old and have a family history of blood pressure. I am taking medication for the last 10 years or so. The dosage overtime has not increased luckily. I try to follow a healthy lifestyle to the best of my ability. Today I am happy that I follow you and hope to learn more from you overtime.

My dad recently passed away due to cancer. However throughout his life he always struggled with high blood pressure including having bypasses and other surgeries. It's crazy how everything you say is spot on and me implementing those how's was a shocking change in my blood pressure. My doctor said I'm at risk of high blood pressure because of deformation on my heart which is obviously genetically bound but I'd never think to go and check myself out until late my 20's.
Thanks for all your work dude, you kept motivating me for a long long time now whether I had better and worse times in my life and I learned a lot from you 🙏🏻

I think it is very helpful to see someone that is otherwise healthy still needing to take medication to manage their blood pressure. I feel it takes some of the stigma out of it for those that are trying to be healthy but maybe feel like they are somehow failing because they have to resort to taking the meds. Thank you.

High and elevated blood pressure run in my family. I’ve struggled with it being elevated and people have always made me feel unhealthy for it but simultaneously tell me I shouldn’t be on meds because I’m too young. Thank you for raising awareness on such an important subject!

It runs in my family too. In my 20s I would be high. I do have white coat and the automatic BP machines will bruise my arm causing me to also have high BP, I request for them to do it manually. Anyways all of my parents and grandparents have it my mom is the healthiest and most active out of all of us and had to have a triple by pass. It’s not always nutrition and exercise. Just like we all have cells that can turn into cancer but not everyone has cancer.

Thank you! I'm in my early 30s and suspected I might have high blood pressure for years. I get a high reading each time I'm in a doctor's office but have always been brushed off when I ask. After losing 30 lbs and getting more active over the last few years I figured I was fine. But after watching your video I borrowed a monitor and tested. 138/82. Because of you, I check my blood pressure about once a week (once every two if I’m dumb lol), and even though it’s “normal”, I know that if anything starts changing, I’ll have a lot of data to take to my healthcare professionals to support my concerns. As a 33 year old woman, it never seemed like something I should worry about, but now I believe that gifting a blood pressure monitor as a housewarming gift is like one of the best things I can do for others, haha. Really hits home.
My dad had absolutely great genetics but ultimately passed away in large part due to his weight. Both of his parents lived to be over 80 and 90. He lived quite long considering his medical conditions but his weight caused a lot of issues and I can't help but think how things would be different if he took better care of himself.
I'm in the "overweight but my vitals are fine situation" my doctor even said to me that long term it will cause issues one way or another. And well, I've seen it first hand with my family. I put on a bunch of weight with my pregnancies and it's been a beast to try to get off but this is the reminder I needed ❤

Thankfully he's gone to the doctor and does take a BP Med (faithfully!) but the limited sleep and alcohol nightly are the two big sticking points with him. Will be showing him this video and working to get more fiber into both our diets.

I exercise consistently but I could lose about 50 lbs. I did end up going to my doctor and was told that because I workout and eat okay, they’re sure that losing weight would help my BP - down 10 lbs so far. Thank you for your podcast, and this video. This is actually something I'd never even bother with since, it's typically low at my doctor. Now that I know how easy it is to test, why not just take the extra precaution? Thank you Jordan!

I also have a family history of hypertension so I had to start medication, but it's now in a healthy range. Thank you for sharing your story. I learned a few things today.

Also, BP monitors vary widely in their accuracy, so read the reviews and try to buy one you can return if the readings are way off. Take it to your Dr to compare it.
