In September I started working on caloric deficit at 460lbs (Im 6'3) and I've lost 46 pounds! Over the years I've tried many diets from "fitness instructor" but now I've learnt I've been eating too little. You literally saved me Jordan. It's like you said consistency is the key. I'm eating what I want and still hitting my calories. Thank you!
Simple does not mean easy 🤯🤯 ugh, so true! I am constantly sabotaging myself by believing it’s way more complicated than it is… and I keep waiting until I find whatever the special “secret” is to start.
I’ve been doing the yoyo dieting for over 25 years. My aha moment was “ Be good at being consistent instead of being perfect at being inconsistent”. WOW!!! Thank you Jordan.
Literally stepped on the scale this morning and it had gone up a little and I felt defeated at first and then told myself NO, it’s working just keep going !!
After having my son I tried to drop my calories to lose baby weight quickly. It was extremely unsuccessful because 1. It was unsustainable 2. I was breastfeeding and was HUNGRY. After he turned a year old I re-approached weight loss to body recomposition. I ate at calorie maintenance but focused on my preferred regimen (mix of walking, Pilates, weights, and mobility on recovery days). I have held my weight, but dropped a dress size. I am in much better physical health and can easily keep up with my wild child and I’m grateful for advice from yourself and others on the approach of consistency. I’m now starting a calorie deficit of 200-250 daily, shooting for 0.5 lbs a week on average. Because of you I can appreciate the slow and steady approach and appreciate my progress with metrics BEYOND the scale.
I got a new scale at the start of the year, and so far I'm on track to end the year with a 0.6lb/wk average loss. Slow weight loss definitely hides from us, but it's wild to see results. I actually was in a bit of a discouraged mental state around the time I needed to pull out my winter clothes this year--until I realized none of my warm pants fit and my hoodies hang to my knees! I got bold, and went to *that* part of my wardrobe and easily fit into a pair of size 16 jeans! I'm actually down to almost nothing in the forbidden section of the closet, and really need to replace many items that are comically oversized. 0.6lbs feels like nothing when you're 2 weeks in and barely see the scale move at al, but time and patience really are the key ingredients.
I'm losing at .60 per week also! Yes, it's slow, but I think that's healthy and will cause less loose skin, and be sustainable. Also, not starving to achieve a quicker loss works for me. We can do it! Slow but sure 🐌. ❤
I love this! The weekends have been destroying me! Friday night take out (because I'm burned out from cooking healthy all week) and beers at the bar with my husband every Sunday watching football and bar food have been sabotaging my progress. Thank you so much I needed to hear this!
Why are the videos so freaking good???!!! Everyone I watch them I realize I am starting to go down the track of being extreme and need to be patient. Dude, you call out ME and tell me EXACTLY what I'm thinking. Thanks man!!
Your content makes me feel incredibly empowered in my weight loss/health journey. KNOWING that those weight fluctuations are normal, KNOWING the simplicity of calorie deficit, KNOWING that slow is better/more sustainable really helps me on those days when I’m feeling discouraged, so thanks for that!
Every bite counts those Licks, Tastes, Bites, are what always get me. I end up a few hundred calories over without even realizing it until I am not seeing progress. I used to be a big weekend warrior, super strict during the week and then a weekend warrior. Now I am in the 80/20 rule and life is so much better. I also track my daily dark chocolate in take but it is in my plan so I can enjoy it and not worry about being over my calories. Lastly, I used to do triathlons and was an avid runner which allowed me to eat more and eat while training. It has been a learning process to say the least to not put back in the calories burned from strength training. Removing the calorie feature on my Garmin is super helpful. Eat my protein, build some muscle, do zone cardio, and enjoy life. Thank you Jordan. You and your no B.S. Content is much appreciated.
Sneaky calories are so real! Love that you mentioned parents eating off of their kids plates, because that’s something I have definitely done when in a fat loss phase! Didn’t even think of it until you mentioned it!
Best video of all of yours that ive seen. That part where you explained that we shouldn't add calories burned from the cardio/workouts done and just pretend like it never happened. I instantly went and turned that setting off on my app. Thank you soooo much!
The “I should” be losing more weight is tough now. I have so many friends in ozempic and that’s all they are doing and I’m moving all the big rocks, they are losing weight so fast. But I will say I was talking to my friend who has lost 68 lbs since March-April in ozempic. I touched her arm and it was spongey, I might weight the same but I absolutely have hard defined arms, bicep and triceps that actually weigh something. So I hope my shit isn’t broken lol, I’m just working through the self talk about it. I think it’s completely human nature to observe and compare. I don’t think it’s abnormal not observe feelings about this.🤷🏻♀️But we also have to be cognizant of our self talk. I KNOW I am making investments in health, not just a number on the scale.
The information that you’re putting out is just ridiculously helpful. I lost 50 pounds 4 years ago and have maintained that weight loss within about 10 pounds since. I’ve been wanting to lose an extra 10-15 but definitely get caught up in the binge restrict cycle. Your videos just really show how we can get so in our heads even if we know what to do! And your chill relaxed view on it just really helps me chill out and stop overthinking it lol thanks Jordan!
JORDAN!!! Thank you 10000 times for taking the time to make all these videos, the podcast (my everyday companion to work) , the IG stories, the information and knowledge, that you provide is incredible helpful, the good energy, smiles, sincerity, jokes, everything about your content is just AMAZING! I just wanted to leave a comment and let you know how much your audience appreciate you!
I am guilty of that last point, having lost weight quickly on a program and then once going back to LIVING, I gained it back - plus some. These are helpful reminders and I am taking notes AND plan to do better, starting with running my own race!
Thank you for this video. I’ve been struggling for a while to lose weight and have been so discouraged. Especially when you said to not compare your weight loss now to a different time in your life which is exactly what I’ve been doing. This has given me new motivation to reach my goals 🙌🏻
I really appreciate your honesty and blunt way of discussing nutrition and working out. It helps to cut the bullshit out there that so many people get misled by and simplifies the facts! Thank you for all of your incredible work you do.
A well needed reminder. You mention Ozempic in this video - I'm curious your opinion on it - and if it lends to sustainable weight loss? Thank you for all you do and Happy Holidays to you and your Family.
A very good video. Full of the most sensible advice. Over the previous three months, I reduced my weight from 68-69 kg (150 lb-153 lb) to 65-66 kg (142lb-145 lb) without losing strength by eating a bit less and exercising a bit more intensively. I am 73 years old and 5'6.5". My diet is not very varied and I can manage my calories by simply eating less of what I eat without having to track my calories across various foods. I exercise every day. I begin by walking 2.5 miles in 21 minutes at a speed just short of jogging or 5 miles in 45 minutes. I believe a rapid walk helps burn more calories than jogging because jogging is more energy efficient than walking. 36:16 My exercise routine is split-chest/triceps, back/biceps, and legs-twice a week. I followed the advice you gave me some weeks ago by resting for 2-3 minutes between sets and exercises. I hope your followers will find my experience helpful. Thanks for your guidance.
Needed to hear this again. I get really motivated and then defeated and given up after having to watch my friends on ozempic losing weight week after week. I know I can do this. The bites, licks and tastes are the things I need to be mindful of. Thanks for the reminder!
I’ve been finally consistently losing weight for the first time in my life & I owe it to finally *starting* and going slow… I look for what I can add and do rather than focusing on what I need to eliminate or don’t have time for. Reframing my thinking this way has helped me stay consistent on my journey this time around. Don’t have time to go to the gym? How about walking to my destination instead of taking the train. Craving something sweet? How can we make this healthier (the viral date bark recipe is great for this). And I keep reminding myself to go slow and trust the process :) love this info Jordan, thank you for sharing
I finally stopped looking at calories burned as a marker of how much extra I can eat-- I avoided this advice from you for years because it felt wrong but WOW the difference! I enjoy workouts now because I don't constantly check my watch to see what I've "earned" and I stopped focusing on how little I have left to eat on days my movement is less. I'm now lifting more weight, doing more yoga, and eating more food WHILE LOSING weight (albeit very slowly) THIS IS SO IMPORTANT!
Gosh, I just love your content! It makes so much sense to me! I tell anyone who will listen to follow you! Also, love the pics and videos of your sweet baby girl!
Stellar content, as usual. I especially liked the comparison piece. It's important not to compare your weight loss journey to anyone else's. Even more importantly, you should not compare your current journey to a previous one you've been on. Circumstances change and life changes.
Really needed the part where you say not to compare to a prior stage in life. I’ve been in a cycle of comparing my current late 20s to my high school/early college days but I needed that to understand that I’m in a completely different stage of my life and that’s okay!
Love this SO much. I am trying so hard to change my mindset around weight fluctuations and the speed at which I "should" be losing weight. THANK YOU!!!!
I've been in this field for some time and I also love learning from Jordan's perspective. I've been in the Inner Circle & on the email list so eager to possibly win a free month. Jordan always hooking up his people. Thank you, Jordan.
I have just lately found your videos and they are super helpful! Thank you for the information! I quickly lost weight after having babies and got to my lowest weight ever. But now, since there has been a war here in Israel and I am not working, I gained like 4-5 pounds and I ate very little, weighed myself all the time and didn't see any progress. So 3 days ago I asked my husband to hide the scale and now I am focusing on the habits, working out and eating healthily, drinking water, etc, instead of focusing on the weight. So your advise is super helpful, and hopefully in a month or so I can update a good progress!❤
This was so freaking timely. I just shared it with a client of mine. I’ve been trying to share these exact principles, but you said them better. Hopefully the second voice of wisdom will be helpful.
I need to get back on track but I have a track because of watching you in the first place. Yes, being consistently good instead of being inconsistently perfect is a good slogan to remember! Really like these videos which go in depth. You are right - it's not easy but it is simple 😊👍💜
Brilliant brilliant video!!! Honestly someone as someone who has struggled with all of these above, it is so helpful to hear these again because I feel like it’s so easy to fall victim to all the above! Appreciate you and Susan so much Jordan!!
Hey Jordon!! Thanks for all the amazing info and, more importantly, how simply you explain it. Very helpful! Can you chat more about the importance of optimal hormone levels when building muscle is the goal. It's important for day to day life, BUT is it still possible the normal low ranges?
once again stellar video. what i eat today isn't going to kill my year long efforts; i really need to get more sleep but geez it's hard, the world makes it hard sometimes. thanks for always reminding me that i can do it and that consistently - as much as i can for that day - doing the things i know i need to so that my year and half weight loss of 40 lbs STICKS. you really are a great reminder of it.
Consistently good > Occasionally great! I’ve often fallen into the trap of trying to be perfect during the week so I could relax during the weekends.☹️ Working to try and change that mindset!!!
I also needed this part on weight fluctuations. I started my modest calorie deficit and my weight spiked. I have started jogging for zone 2 cardio and was so disheartened to see the scale spike up and “I’ve been jogging 😢” but I told myself to trust the process and regardless this is an investment in my health EVEN IF the scale goes up a touch. 🤷🏻♀️
Comparing to my sister who always does very extreme diets and loses really quickly is my biggest struggle. She always gains it back … but while she’s losing 5 - 10 lbs. a week it is very frustrating to be slower ☹️
Super helpful information - thank you for sharing! I'm very guilty of #3... I need to trust the process & know it's working for me when I'm feeling good!!
As always Jordan, superb job at explaining and using simple terms & examples for everyone to understand. Thank you so much for your dedication and hard work!
Love this! Definitely guilty of over estimating calories in. Been a successful weight watcher for the past 19 years, but started gaining weight for the past 3 years. Looking forward to getting calorie calculator in the IC app!😊
I've been a follower on instagram for a long time and now I am going through wanting to tone and gain strength so thank you for all your videos and posts!
You opened my eyes. I was trying so hard and making things so hard. I have finally lost 20lbs, it took me a while but I am working towards the next 20.
Loved this whole video! Every aspect was on point! I’ve been trying to explain this to my mom. She is stuck on all the yoyo diets, wanting to see decrease on scale, and eating too little calories. I Will definitely be sending her this video link! Thank you for the great info!
Thank you for this! I tend to fall into the starving myself Monday through Thursday and then going crazy on the weekends. I also tend to think it's not happening fast enough. I have PCOS and my hormones are constantly causing me issue.

“Perfect is like a prison” I love that thought process!
Ooof, needed this today! 2 weeks and no change and no scale change has got me wanting to make big changes. Trying to stay consistent
You got this- we in it together

Even though I know what I'm doing, its so important to go over these things again and again. So important and so helpful.
I follow you since 2019 on IG your content helped me to loose 40kg!(80lbs)! I’m currently on the last 10- 15kg. Thank you ❤
Every bite counts those Licks, Tastes, Bites, are what always get me. I end up a few hundred calories over without even realizing it until I am not seeing progress. “Perfect is a prison.” Man, that really speaks to me.
You must’ve interviewed me. I’m a weekend warrior and struggle staying on track for weekends. It doesn’t work! Thanks for all you do!
Thank you for being real and not sugar coating it with BS. I needed this today!
Calorie deficit is certainly great, but mindset is number one for me!
The information that you’re putting out is just ridiculously helpful. I lost 50 pounds 4 years ago and have maintained that weight loss within about 10 pounds since. I am guilty of that last point, having lost weight quickly on a program and then once going back to LIVING, I gained it back - plus some. These are helpful reminders and I am taking notes AND plan to do better, starting with running my own race!
I needed this today. Getting totally discouraged and I needed this thank you
The way explain in each video really inspires a lot of people.
“Consistently good”
I so needed to hear that!
Excellent video Jordan. Thank you!
Tracking EVERYTHING is so impactful and like Jordan said, having the patience to walk the journey is incredibly helpful for success.
Consistency over anything else is the key 👏🏻
Its not easy! Its simple.. Well said 👏🏻
The voice of reason! Amen Brother!
Thank you for this video. I’ve been struggling for a while to lose weight and have been so discouraged. Especially when you said to not compare your weight loss now to a different time in your life which is exactly what I’ve been doing. This has given me new motivation to reach my goals 🙌🏻
Good reminder to just stay the course!
Thank you for this! Big takeaway was to be consistently good rather than inconsistently perfect 🤯 you perfectly articulated what I’m struggling with!
Definitely not what we wanted to hear BUT what we needed to hear. Love this raw content!!!
I really appreciate your honesty and blunt way of discussing nutrition and working out. It helps to cut the bullshit out there that so many people get misled by and simplifies the facts! Thank you for all of your incredible work you do.
Mic drop 🎤
Goal body weight x 12 + consistency = results
Been following so long that I already knew 2 of the sentences. Great job!
It all makes perfect sense when you lay it out in this manner.
Thanks for this. I listened to the entire video and I’m the weekend person for sure. I “start over” almost every Monday.
A well needed reminder. You mention Ozempic in this video - I'm curious your opinion on it - and if it lends to sustainable weight loss?
Thank you for all you do and Happy Holidays to you and your Family.
Awesome and very informative!! I've been following for a while. I've lost over 40lbs a lot of thanks to you 🎉
Thank you for always simplifying this shit. Overthinking it 100% of the time and these videos help keep my mind consistent.
Honestly, your information is INCREDIBLE! So glad the Internet has at least one truthful mentor in the diet industry!
This was a great reminder to keep going even if the progress isn’t as quick as we sometimes want it to be. It’s still progress. Thanks!
It was good to hear about not eating enough. I feel like that is what a lot of people do. Thank you.
Love the information, and the no bs approach 👌
I'm so guilty of giving up because it's not working fast enough. Now I have even more to lose. Thanks for the real talk!
Watching now…would love to be part of the inner circle!
You have no idea how precious and pure gold this is, brilliant explication!!
I’m back on my weight loss journey post baby and this a great reminder to be patient and that IT IS WORKING
All.OF.THIS. I resonated with the entire video. Thank you so much for posting!
Needed to hear this again. I get really motivated and then defeated and given up after having to watch my friends on ozempic losing weight week after week. I know I can do this. The bites, licks and tastes are the things I need to be mindful of. Thanks for the reminder!
Amazing you hit so many long-standing issues for me. Thank you
I’ve been finally consistently losing weight for the first time in my life & I owe it to finally *starting* and going slow… I look for what I can add and do rather than focusing on what I need to eliminate or don’t have time for.
Would like to start inner circle again. Enjoyed the workouts. Finally getting into more positive head space about food 😊
Gosh, I just love your content! It makes so much sense to me! I tell anyone who will listen to follow you! Also, love the pics and videos of your sweet baby girl!
Comparing my weight month-to-month has been a game changer, for me. Thank you!
Going to save this for when I struggle and need a reminder! Thanks Jordan!
Love this SO much. I am trying so hard to change my mindset around weight fluctuations and the speed at which I "should" be losing weight. THANK YOU!!!!
Don't let perfect be the enemy of good. Thank you for continuing to push that it should be as much food as possible to lose weight, not as little 🙌
Such great reminders- thank you! So true. Simple doesn’t mean easy.
I've been in this field for some time and I also love learning from Jordan's perspective. I've been in the Inner Circle & on the email list so eager to possibly win a free month. Jordan always hooking up his people. Thank you, Jordan.

Got a walking pad in July and my cholesterol was down 18 points! Found out today!
One of your best videos. Everything so well said.
Brilliant brilliant video!!! Honestly someone as someone who has struggled with all of these above, it is so helpful to hear these again because I feel like it’s so easy to fall victim to all the above! Appreciate you and Susan so much Jordan!!
Just started listening this morning video was awesome thank you .
Wow! I definitely need to track everything and stop the LBTs. I also need to be patient. This was very helpful. I am hoping to join your program soon
Hey Jordon!! Thanks for all the amazing info and, more importantly, how simply you explain it. Very helpful!
Can you chat more about the importance of optimal hormone levels when building muscle is the goal. It's important for day to day life, BUT is it still possible the normal low ranges?
Love the conversation about losing muscle and losing fat. I didn’t realize you can lose muscle if you’re in too far of a deficit.
once again stellar video. what i eat today isn't going to kill my year long efforts; i really need to get more sleep but geez it's hard, the world makes it hard sometimes. thanks for always reminding me that i can do it and that consistently - as much as i can for that day - doing the things i know i need to so that my year and half weight loss of 40 lbs STICKS. you really are a great reminder of it.
Consistent not perfect, that idea helps a lot to change the approach to fat loss. Thank you Jordan, your videos are always super helpful!
I get anxiety when I think about tracking everything but i know it’s a must !! Jordan love your stuff and I follow you on Instagram too !!
Consistently good > Occasionally great! I’ve often fallen into the trap of trying to be perfect during the week so I could relax during the weekends.☹️ Working to try and change that mindset!!!

Practical and clear. ❤
Comparing to my sister who always does very extreme diets and loses really quickly is my biggest struggle. She always gains it back … but while she’s losing 5 - 10 lbs. a week it is very frustrating to be slower ☹️
Plan on implementing these immediately.
Super helpful information - thank you for sharing! I'm very guilty of #3... I need to trust the process & know it's working for me when I'm feeling good!!
Always so much value. Thanks for what you do. 🤘🏼💜
Great advice! Tracking everything reveals so much about where we need to change and develop new habits that will help us age well. Thank you.
That was your best video yet. Thank you! 🎉
I really needed to hear ALL of this today. I love your information and the way you deliver it is so easy to understand. Thank you!
I've been a follower on instagram for a long time and now I am going through wanting to tone and gain strength so thank you for all your videos and posts!
I love this. You've helped change my mindset around weight loss.
