- Dr. Ahmad Khuddro, an academic (15 years) and practitioner (40 years) in translation and interpreting studies, with special interest in audiovisual translation. Three decades in television scripting and supervision, and in subtitling feature films, documentaries and television series - including The Cars, When in Rome, Perfect Storm, Bamby, Beauty and the Beast, Alladin the Prince of Thieves, Jane Austin’s Pride and Prejudice, Hugo, Grey's Anatomy, Lost, Flashforward, 007 James Bond to name a few. Taught translation and interpreting since 1980s at four universities, Visiting Professor at Bologna university (Italy) 2006-2009, Assistant Tutor at Leeds University (UK) 1986-1989, Visiting Professor at London City University (UK) 2016 & 2017, and full time assistant professor at Effat University (KSA) since 2011. Member of Institute of Linguists in London and member of SUBTLE, the British Subtitling Association, based in London. Did simultaneous interpreting for live debate political shows in Al-Jazeera tv Channel, and MBC TV in the 1990s and 2000s. Interpreted consecutively in social, medial institutions, such as social public services, police, hospitals and health centres. Published five books in Translation: two are translated books and three are single-authored; they were published in Rome, Sydney, Newcastle, Berlin, and Jeddah. Authored numerous academic articles since 1992. Participated in several international conferences in Geneva (Switzerland) 1997, Tangiers (1996, 2000), London (2004), Duham (2007), Melbourne (2009), Bologna (2010), Riyadh (2016) and Jeddah (1913, 1915, 1917, 1919 and 2021).
د. أحمد خضرو، أستاذ أكاديمي (لمدة 15 سنة)، ومحترف (لمدة 40 سنة) في دراسات الترجمة الكتابية والفورية، باهتمام خاص في الترجمة السمعية البصرية. عمل لثلاثة عقود في إعداد النصوص التلفزيونية والإشراف عليها وفي ترجمة الأفلام الطويلة والوثائقية والمسلسلات التلفزيونية للعديد من القنوات مثل ديسكفري ووالت ديزني وغيرهما، وترجم أفلام منها "السيارات"، و"عندما تكون في روما"، و"العاصفة الكاملة" و"بامبي"، و"الحسناء والوحش"، و"علاء الدين والأربعون حرامي"، و"الكبيرياء والتحامل" لجين أوستن، و"هوغو"، وغرايز أناتموي"، و"لوست" و"فلاشفورورد"، وأفلام جايمز بوند وغيرها. يدرس د. أحمد خضرو مقرارات عديدة في المستويين الماجيستير والجامعي منذ ثمانينيات القرن الماضي وذلك في أربع جامعات وهي استاذ زائر في جامعة بولونيا الإيطالية 2006-2009، ومساعد مدرس في جامعة ليدز البريطانية 1986-1989، وأستاذ زائر في جامعة لندن سيتي عامي 2016 و2017، وأخيرا استاذ مساعد في جامعة عفت بالمملكة العربية السعودية منذ 2011. وهو عضو في معهد اللسانيات البريطاني بلندن وعضو في الجمعية البريطانية للترجمة على الشاشة "ساتل" ومقرها في لندن. قام بالترجمة الفورية التلفزيونية من العربية إلى الانكليزية للبرامج السياسية الحوارية التي تبث مباشرة على قناة الجزيرة وفي قناة ام بي سي في عقدي التسعينات والألفية. كما قام بالترجمة التتابعية لمختلف المؤسسات الاجتماعية والطبية بما فيها الخدمات الاجتماعية المجتمعية والشرطة والمستشفيات والمستوصفات. نشر خمسة كتب في الترجمة، إثنان ترجمهما والثلاثة الآخرى هي كتب قام بتأليفها في مجال دراسات الترجمة: أحدها نشره في روما الإيطالية والثاني في سيدني باستراليا والثالث في نيوكاسل بانكلترا، والرابع في برلين الالمانية والأخير في جدة بالمملكة العربية السعودية. كما نشر عدة مقالات محكمة في العديد من الدوريات منذ العام 1992. وشارك في عدد من المؤتمرات الدولية في جنيف 1997، وطنجة عامي 1996 و2000، ولندن العام 2004، ودارهام البريطانية 2007، وميلبورن 2009، وبولونيا الإيطالية 2010،والرياض العام 2016، وجدة في الأعوام 1913و 1915، 1917، 1919، و2021.

Domesticated translation makes the TT as clear as possible to the target reader by giving even equivalent cultural images similar to those in the source culture.

Hello. No video on fidelity. But you have to be faithful to the message conveyed. That’s the golden rule. If you can the stylistics of the original then that is a bonus.
Moreover, the focus on the meaning and/or message and how it can be conveyed in the target language, the stylistics is a bonus you are right.
