The beauty of Kannada language. Hats off to Kannadiga people for keeping this tradition live. In our UP, we have almost lost it.
What a sweet thing to say! Sri Purandara Dasa, who is the composer of this beautiful dAsa pada is considered the Karnataka shastriya Sangita pitamah.
Also the carnatic music has had rich contributions by the Telugu stalwarts starting with the holy trinity of Carnatic music, Saint composer Thyagaraja, Sri Shyama Shastri and Sri Muthuswamy Dikshitar.
Listening to compositions of any of these four - a dip in bhakti guaranteed.

This is one of my favourite Carnatic compositions. I have heard some accomplished singers perform it before but nobody other than this child was able to bring me to tears. I was hoping you would react to it.

You can see kids like him in California and across US, Canada most South Indian families with a taste for classical music, dance encourage their kids to learn the art. Many teachers like Ranjani , Gayathri visit them for annual celebration of Music and conduct workshops. My nephew's son (age 10) too is a Carnatic music learner in San Francisco.
💜 I would also suggest attending the Tyagaraja festival in Cleveland, Ohio.
