Teacher is neither from Karnataka nor Kerala. He is native from Konkani region, Goa. Pai is also a prevalent surname in Konkan. He just grew up in Kerala (not native) and then moved to Chennai, Tamilnadu in the later years.

I love the Hanuman Chalisa sung by a 10 yr old Sooryagayathry. I also like her Sri Ramachandra kripalu bhaj man. She is truly blessed and she is also very lucky to have Kuldeep Pai Sir as her guru. Love Kannada from Rajasthan. I have been following works of Kuldeep M Pai since very beginning of his channel & this one is my personal favourite in a language I don't understand along with Bhajan 'Ye Theerugananu' of Saint Bhadrachal Ramdasu in Telugu by Kuldeepji.

I am from Delhi. I am mesmerized by this unparalleled music, language and rhythm from South. I know a little Sanskrit. Wish I had known South languages as well!
Sri Purandaradasa was one who also is known for simplifying music so that any one could learn. Music in those time mainly in Sanskrit was very complex and except Bramhin community (Mainly associated with priests and gurus and teachers), felt that everyone should be able to learn what we call now Karnatic music and should not be limited to certain class of society. He simplified it.
Kannada and Karnataka often gets lost in all the things South Indian..it's usually Tamil and Malayalam that shine (no hate there, just a statement) I'm sooo glad you guys are showing interest 💙 I don't have a Twitter account but I'm gonna make one right now to suggest some Kannada stuff to you!!
Pretty much all Classical singers start training at very tender age. The gentleman is her Guru Mr. Kuldeep Pai. These kids who r trained by him, r very famous in South of India ,thanks to internet and other concert performance. There is another younger boy Rahul Vellal is good too. Kids normally learn from teachers who r near by to where they live. But a really talented , potentially strong willing kids do learn from Masteros and Gurus - that is if they want to explore more and become a professional singers of Classical stream. Some of us learn just our own pleasure, and sing on spl festival days. Most of the Bollywood/ Indian cinema singers r classically trained and it gives them a great advantage to sing any note with ease. All these singer practice every day. And learn something new every day. I have my neice and nephew living SFO who r learning Carnatic music from a teacher there. The kids r 9 and 4 years of age.😊

But in the world of Carnatic music, a singer's caliber is not just judged by the compositions that they sing, but also the vocalization improv (aalap) and many other aspects which goes beyond just a composition. Wish her all the very best though. Looks like she comes from my region.
@@SanjayKumar-gv2ph Language is not a good aspect to judge where a person is from. In Carnatic music, you sing songs from Telugu, sanskrit, Tamil and Kannada in that order of frequency.

The very talented child who has a clear , perfect voice and one day she will be a renowned classical singer who has been trained initially for many years under the guidance of her Guru shri Kuldeep Pai who himself has recorded and brought out many of Surya Gayatri's songs. On Utube. Kuldeep himself is from Karnataka and not only Surya Gayathri Kuldeep Pai has been training many children in classical vocal under his tutelage . She's technically very good. But in the world of Carnatic music, a singer's caliber is not just judged by the compositions that they sing, but also the vocalization improv (aalap) and many other aspects which goes beyond just a composition. Wish her all the very best though. Looks like she comes from my region.
She is from Karnataka not Kerala ..that song is kannada not malyalam
Yeah I was wrong. I thought she was from coastal Karnataka/Kasargod region of Kerala, but looks like she is from interior Kerala.
@@SanjayKumar-gv2ph Language is not a good aspect to judge where a person is from. In Carnatic music, you sing songs from Telugu, sanskrit, Tamil and Kannada in that order of frequency.

The very talented child who has a clear , perfect voice and one day she will be a renowned classical singer who has been trained initially for many years under the guidance of her Guru shri Kuldeep Pai who himself has recorded and brought out many of Surya Gayatri's songs. On Utube. Kuldeep himself is from Karnataka and not only Surya Gayathri Kuldeep Pai has been training many children in classical vocal under his tutelage . So guys instead of arguing where she comes from enjoy the song of this gifted child.
