I was thinking about making my own snap caps. Glad I found your channel. This is actually how I was planning to make mine too. I will probably use colorized coated bullets to help distinguish between my live ammo and the snap caps

Thanks for the video. I usually glue a bit of pencil eraser in the primer pockets. I mostly use dummy rounds to protect firing pins (after breaking several.... not a fast learner here, lol)

I'm curious what the primer pocket looks like on the finished "rounds". Is it full or glue, or empty?

If you use the right amount it will barely protrude from the flash hole so that it doesn’t necessitate trimming before use.

Nice. Like the hot glue trick. I don't do that step when making them. By the way, I think it's cool that you and your wife share the same passion. Although my wife doesn't shoot competitively, she goes to all my matches. She even bakes cookies the morning of each match for the squad.

Hey Mason big fan.. i started shooting competitions about 1 year ago here in cali. Just wanted to ask if you can post a video of you showing your grip on the handgun? Like specific points where you put pressure and just your showing your technique in detail!

I can do that, I’ll add it to the schedule to film something in that vain. I’ll want to validate it with livefire on camera. so it could be a minute before I get to a range and get such a video made.

I do the same. Only I leave in my spent primers in.... if I didn’t leave in the spent primers, my firing pin would sometimes get caught in the primer pocket. Then it would bend the tip of the firing pin when I cycled the slide....👍🏼
