When I hear a great piece played by a single instrument, I then like to listen to other artists play the same piece. For this piece I would recommend James Ehnes and Midori. Happy listening 😎
Yep, Bach the greatest of all time and the love of my life❤❤❤. His music goes directly to you heart and mind... and electrifies the whole body. So complex in all ways ❤❤❤ long live the king BACH
Anna Rabinova..
One comment criticized you for playing too freely in rhythm. I think this criticizm is not justified. You keep your rhythm and your speed. What you add, however, are many rubati, whenever you want to emphasize something. That is wonderful! I appreciate your relatively slow tempo very much. It shows more of the beauty of this milestone.
Is there anybody who can play this most difficult violin piece like Heifetz. Mendelssohn remarked that this wonderful piece nobody can master technically. Today all violist play it in many versions. But one would expect that at least the level of Heifetz would be tried to be achieved. I am sorry to say that this presentation here does not present the dynamic performance one is used to hear from the great masters.
Playing the correct tempo and rhythm are essential in Bach. Your tempo and rhythm must be consistent throughout the piece. You can not play freely as you wish.
If a composition does not have flexibility then that is a poor piece of music. Bach's works can be interpreted in countless ways. No two artists play Bach in t same way. And the most exalted, yet extreme level is Glen Gould.
absolutely perfect! perfect tempo, perfect tonality, perfect accents and volume. just perfect!
you are my musical idol. 💘
Rabinova studied in Russia and has played in the New York Philharmonic for many years. She is a superb artist.
