However, me and the other Cambodians will not agree with that, it's not that we want to continue the conflict but because Preah Vihear has always been apart of Cambodia. To lost an inch of land is a huge humiliation to every Cambodian.

@KatiushaVN4 well architecture may not be similar, but if you look at the way vietnamese language is spoken... the intonation etc. it is very similar to cantonese not to mention the fact that before french colonisation of vietnam... vietnam written script was traditional chinese :-D also you can see some similarity in clothing (traditional style) and cuisine Pho is derivation of chinese noodle soup like thai we have curry because of indian influence
Thai may have better army but lost the war to Cambodia because Thai was the one invaded Cambodia's territory. No one is over the international laws.

Lol. Im Thai and half German and also part of the Thai Marines. I don't really give a fk who owns what territory in the past. All i care about is the present time. @KatiushaVN4 yes part of souther vietnam i guess 1 or 2 province was part of siam before the french and english arrived in indochina which was previously part of khmer empire after it fell siam took control... however most of the vietnamese including their language derived from cantonese as the vietnamese people originally migrated down from southern china like the thai whom migrated down from what is now yunnan province of PRC

@KatiushaVN4 with the buddhism part it's because the two different strain orignated from india but spreaded through different direction so what you are saying about buddhism isn't true the two school are totally different and the Thai or Tai are actually from Yunnan China i mean if you go to yunnan today you would not only see similar cuisine, architecture (specifically temples and old houses) but even the spoken dialect Tai is actually almost exactly the same as modern Thai :-D

@ShameOnThai while what you are stating is true yes these places in thailand and vietnam were part of the Khmer empire in historically, however the shift in power has changed many times in the region(Siam, Khmer, Burmese etc.) if you wanted to look at it from a historical perspective and SIAM is 1 of only two asian nation to avoid colonization by europeans empires so if historical supremacy is your point of argument the temple and territories should belong to first the thais or the FRENCH!!?

Although the temples are obviously seen as Khmer art, there are several Khmer-like temple inside Thailand (not on the border line). Thailand and Cambodia use to be the same kingdom like 1,000 years ago. When they separated, they fought many times to concur the other's land. Thailand back then defeated and took some parts of Khmer kingdom. Then, the French come and took the whole Khmer kingdom and parts that Thailand owned which believed to be the disputed land nowadays.

@s1prark What troops in Cambodian territory???? The temple belongs to Cambodia no question there! But the entrance (the stairs that lead up to the temple) is in Thai territory! I don't know who's in who's but pictures clearly show Cambodian troops on the stairs! Therefore, they have violated Thai territory! Anyway, where you there?

be careful...without our weapons and protection, Thailand could land in real trouble. Both sides need to knock this off and focus on building democratic prosperous countries.

ฺBased on a sad history, before the French invasion, a major part of Cambodia belongs to Thailand. The rest belongs to Viet Nam.

thai vs cambodia, why are you fighting? base on your looks, its like you have the same roots. why not settle it in most diplomatic way.
Cambodia's military capacity is too low. Thailand does not have to use infantry troops and warships with the masses. If Thailand is serious. The air raid was able to overcome it. However, Thailand does not seem to want to do because that is our neighbors.

@MrCp81 what you say is very true and i totally agrees, but it's a matter of territorial soveriegnty... culturally and historically in my thai opinion preah vihear is 200% of Khmer origin :-D people/governments of both countries should stop focusing on conflict and make a deal... partnership or something where both country benifits
