  • I initially found this driving mission to be quite difficult to win but after some retrying, I realized that it was much easier to win by using detuned racing cars. Here are my tips and recommendations for winning this mission.

De tuned super formula dominates this event, no need for fuel map management, only need one pit in

Didnt even know that car could even be detuned enough to fit in this event. Good find! It is a more expensive vehicle though. Just depends on what people are willing to spend

I’ve tried everything I can think of but I can only get the Super Formula down to 665 pp. Any tuning suggestions???

@@raythomas9317 I adjusted the final gear ratio on the transmission and saw a big decrease in pp. I also used the heaviest ballast and put it all the way in the front.

Good to know. I tried in my Corvette GT3, failed to get bronze, and difficult to advance much. Furthermore, it's only worth it for the sake of completing it. Ridiculous that gold only gets you 5,000cr. For a 40 minute race?!!

hey man tried your tip and on sport mediums, didn't need to pit at all, I found it was easier to have the power on lean the whole time so the wheels don't spin when it starts to get wet, first try gold!

Just did this with a regular Focus RS tuned up to exactly 600PP. Sport Medium tyres and fuel map set to 6 for about 95% of the race, managed to get exactly 15 laps out of a tank and pitted once the whole race (including a tyre change). Really good car for the task, fuel efficient, lightweight and AWD for the heavy rain.

Also did this, tuned up to around 560 PP, SH tyres, went all in from the start and changed to fuel mix 6 in the rain, refueled starting lap 12 and then refueled to recommended level and switched to SM for last stint, luckily P1 pitted at lap 28 so I ended up winning by 15s :)

All of my Mitsubishi Lancers have done the Sarthe, most of which reaching up 699.95PP (the lowest being 675.45PP).

De-tuned Nismo GTR works well. Left my fuel map on 3 for first stint, and pitted on lap 9/10. Dropped the fuel map to 6 at about lap 15, and pitted on lap 20. Managed to finish the race with zero fuel at the finish line.
I think you just need to use a fast four wheel drive with economical mapping.

Thank you for the tips!! I was stuck on this until I used a NSX Gr.B Rally Car
-Sport hard tires (only 1 pit)
-I lowered the inicial power of the car to 92% in the ECU section and that brings the car to 599.45 RP
Started the race in map 6 and pitted after lap 19, in this only pit I put a lil bit more gas and that left me racing with map 1-2 last laps
Finally, I completed the race in 33:35.014 with a horrendous gap.

Thanks for the video, it still helping people! I did in the first try use Rally Focus, same as yours. For those who are having difficult to lower the PP below 616 with hard sport tires, just lower the HP with TCU adjustment.
Big tip here, I did an wrong pit stop during the racing, I didnt refuel bcause I pressed by mistake, so I need to pit stop twice. I tought that I would lose the race but not.
Dont forget that, after refuel, your fuel map back to 1 again, I didnt see that, do I did more 12 laps with fuel map 1 and almost lost tbe race because of the fuel. During lap 26 I back the fuel map to 6 again...

I did this with a 2004 Subaru Impreza WRX STI in VR, 589PP in VR.
My tip, is to use something that has AWD. When it starts to get wet, set TCS to 1 and set your AWD bias to 50/50. This will help you maintain speed while you drift through the corners.
Using this method, you will find that you catch up to the other cars pretty easy.

I won this with every one of my Mitsubishi Lancers (None of the "Gr. 3 or Gr. 4" Versions). I had to seriously tune them up, but they were worth it.
The main things you need to take into consideration would be Gas Milage, Tire Usage (and Type) and the Weather.
    GAS MILAGE:
3+ laps before pit stops are excellent, especially if you can creep up on your opponents bit by bit then pull away eventually. 4+ laps is perfection. Doing laps without having to pit is Paradise (only if you can catch the opponents).
    TIRE USAGE AND TYPE:
Depending on which tire you use, you can determine whether or not you have to pit often in this race. Racing Soft are best with grip, but for long races like this one are often horrible in the reliability department (especially RWD), and may sometimes run out before you run out of fuel. Racing Hard sacrifices a bit of grip (not much, as you are still grippy around the corners) and could potentially last the entire race (if wasn't for weather changes). Intermediate Weather tires are best for the changing weather conditions (look at the moisture bar to get an understanding on when to go to the pits).
    WEATHER:
The weather is dynamic in Gran Turismo 7 in that the rains can come at any time. But as a general rule of thumb, look to your weather radar after the 2nd lap to determine if or when the rains shall arrive. Most times the rains would be light to medium (turquoise to blue), meaning that it may reach the first of the 3 moisture bars and you can race on your dry tires (Racing Hard to Racing Soft). Blue to Green tends to reach the 2nd Bar, as the rains are heavier, dumping more moisture on the roads, making them wet and slippy to dry tires. Best to use Intermediate Wet Tires for this as the rains never last long and the roads tend to dry out after a few laps. Green to Yellow and Above would be torrential rain and these may carry the Bar to the 3rd, if not fill that Bar as well. Wet tires are your only choice as even intermediates would aquaplane and spin you all over the track. High Rev cars (especially RWD) would end up spinning the wheels, and because there is little traction, end up going really slowly as they struggle for grip and move.
    TIPS:
    1. If you want to use your favorite car, make sure it is a car already close to the PP limit, or at least that can go up to the limit after modifications have been made. Try to get the best engine modifications for top speed and acceleration. You can even swap engines for a better one (For my Evolution IV, I swapped the engine for a Evolution X Final. Excellent results, and still below the PP Limit).
    2. Tune your car and check the settings. Lower the ride height, but make sure and raise the dampers (compression and expansion), Camber angle and Toe angle. Simply lowering the ride height alone may misbalance the car, causing you to spin out on corners at high speed.
    3. Test your car on the track before the race. Check the top speed and the acceleration. You can even test it in the same race by seeing how fast you can pass the other drivers on a straight. Make sure and keep an eye on the time you are behind the lead driver, as it determines how fast you can catch up.
    4. Drive as best as possible. Try to take limited shortcuts, or at least get off the accelerator (or brake) if you want to so that you can avoid the time penalties (depending on the penalties, you may be illegible to getting the 50% clean race bonus). Some penalties are unavoidable, such as cutting corners too much and us such a small penalty is given (depending on how much of the corner you cut) ranging from 1 - 1.5 seconds. Other penalties are much heftier, such us crossing pit lines (max 2s penalty) and overtaking on the yellow flag (as much as 9 second penalty), which can disqualify you from receiving the bonus.
    5. Watch your Fuel Management. It fluctuates when you first start the race, but then levels out after a while. An ideal number of laps would be 3, as it would give you enough time to create a buffer if you are in front or just enough to catch up. Of the cars you race against, usually the Dodge Viper and the rest go for 3 laps before they pit. The Corvette *ALWAYS* go to the pits after 2 laps, and the Swift would go at random between 2 and 3 laps. However, if it begins to rain, then everyone goes into the pits once they are close enough or they haven't passed it. If you can get your car to go 4 laps between pits, it would be great...if the rains don't fall.
    6. Use the right tires. I've found that Racing Hard for the dry and intermediate Wet Tires when the rain falls are the best switch up for the race. Racing Soft is excellent, but don't last as long, especially if you have a high rev car with high acceleration. Racing Medium is a nice in-between tire that gives you grip and last a bit longer than the Racing Soft. Wet tires should *ONLY* be used when there is torrential rain (full 2nd bar/Green to Yellow on radar). Wet tires lose thread vey quickly when conditions dry out. Dry tires slides on the road sides, even when the rest of the road is dry (because road sides are still wet. CAUTION: DO NOT LET THE THREADS RUN COMPLETELY OUT, AS THIS WOULD REDUCE TRACTION EVEN WITH THE RIGHT CONDITIONS THE TIRES SHOULD BE USED.
You can use any of these tips or you can test other settings as well.

I think they may have changed some things in the updates. Your video was still a huge help. I was 2:30 faster. The Sports Hard tires wore down a lot more than yours, front left specifically (seems like Sports Medium before the update as you could barely finish the race without changing them) and changing brakes to the rear didn’t seem to affect tire wear (as I assume that’s why you did it before?). The only variable I can think I had different from you was using a Gr.B 86 instead of the Focus.
Anyways, huge help, I couldn’t figure it out before. Thanks.

I did this a few times without any medals... I honestly feel I was using the wrong car for the first of about 4 tries.... I tried again with another car that was allot faster but did not get any medal..... I was more determined the forth time and for some reason I did not even place.... will be trying again now, I think Im going to change to the car you used instead and change my settings to the settings you suggest.... what I did notice is that I never caught up with the 1st car..... that has to be the problem and that could be due to the driving line... I have full traction even in the rain with the car that I used.... I only lost traction when the rain became hard, then I went lean in oder to back the car power down. I was able to stay on the road pretty good with the car I used... so the obvious difference from my last 2 runs is that I never was able to get to the front.... this I have to work on.... I actually was getting lapped and blue flagged. I also noticed that the hards where still good in the rain.... but I was too scared to not change them..... so Im going to adjust my strategy this time.... so driving the car in the rain dont seem to be my issue, its catching up with the leader and the driving line being slippery might be my issue.... the car I used was the Supra 3.0GT th-cam.com/video/eTrv_Z6kz3w/w-d-xo.html

  • @ChristianRobinson
    @ChristianRobinson ปีที่แล้ว

even though I couldn't do it with my GR Supra RZ I would like for you to try using it.... its a beast in the right hands... I think its fast enough.... i just dont think I did a good job getting to the leaders and driving through the rain. I was even able to drive fuel map 1 but not sure how the car will handle fully lean. Im about to try ONCE more with the supra and if that dont work Ill use the focus....

Well I finally beat this weird and I mean very weird "race"/challenge at the second attempt, but I hated every minute of it!
Aside from the fact that we only get 10,000 credits if we win, when really it should pay out at least 500,000 credits for the time and effort we have to put into, which will surely take you at least two attempts to pass, IF you can win it!
On the race/challenge itself, aside from the ridiculous decision to force us to use sports tyres and not allow us to use rain tyres, there's the very annoying fact that there's no music playing during it, it feels like driving a car with a broken radio - it gets very boring and monotonous!
While as you'll soon see, the "race" itself is just broken, with cars going in and out of the pits much quicker than they should, basically teleporting out of the pits!
(Quite how put stop races were when I started playing this particular GT game last October, where the a.i. cheated in every race with pit stops and no matter what you did, you went backwards in such races and really couldn't win them, although thankfully after a patch or three their pitting action and pace was fixed to match or be a tiny bit slower than ours, so now NORMAL pit races are actually fun, but not here!)
Firstly I said, I'd try to use the Mazda 6 GR4 (which I barely had to detune, only fitting hard sports tyres and nerfing its' aero a bit) and initially things were going well, I made up a few spots when the track was dry and set fastest lap before it started raining, while even when it started raining, things felt alright, where I mostly stayed on the track and made up some more places...
Things were looking very good when the a.i. cars were pitting around lap 9 so would surely two stop, when I had enough fuel to one stop...
I pitted from fifth position and thought, "Nice, one pit stop, I might lose one to five places, but I'll still be in a good position and will surely be in first by the time the a.i. pits again, IF I don't catch them on track!"
However the start of my bad luck was when I went to pit, hitting the damn tiny and seemingly reinforced concrete pit entry sign, which brought me to a complete stop, but "only" for a few seconds!
But anyway, I "only" pitted for fuel because my tyres were good and came back out in twelfth place!
I thought, "Wow!", but wasn't too worried, thinking surely I'd catch the a.i. when they pitted, however I had already noticed that pretty much all the a.i. cars were going much faster than they were before I entered the pits and I really couldn't make any headway against them now...
But things got stranger as the next group started to pit, I was as said in 12th at this point when a couple of them went into the pits ahead of me and I SHOULD have climbed to 8th at least, but another group exited the pits and I was in 14th!
I managed to get up to around 9th place, but every time a group of a.i. cars pitted, they'd come out too fast and basically take a shortcut through the pits!
I had slipped back to 12th and just managed to get back up to 11th with 10th in sight when I ran out of laps and failed the challenge!
At which point I said, damnit, i'll try the car this video recommended, which annoyingly, I had to detune a lot to get under the 600pp limit...
In the mostly wet weather race, it was weird that my grip was generally worse than in the Mazda, in particular I kept sliding off the track on the last corner, going off there 10-15 times, where I "only" went off there around five times in the Mazda, BUT crucially my overall pace was faster in the wet!
I had just managed to get into first, followed very closely by the next four or five cars when I had to pit when again the last corner tripped me up!
I ran wide trying to avoid hitting the solid pit entry board, only to find that there was an invisible wall after it, so I couldn't get into the pits on that lap!
I tried grinding the whole way around it, hoping that the game would let me pit, but it wouldn't, at which point, I slipped to around fifth, when I was fighting said, invisible wall, I had to drop my fuel map down to four to make sure I had enough fuel to get around the track again, very carefully pitting next lap, again only for fuel and came back out around eighth place and again I witnessed "teleporting" cars as I fought to get back up the grid and eventually got into second place, not far from first and indeed, not far ahead of third...
On the second last lap, indeed I slipped to third, but JUST about managed to recover and win the race, with second right on my heals!
Earning my "massive" reward of 10,000 credits and a challenge passed...
But this one is definitely broken! 😯😐 .
I know there are several more of these challenges ahead, including a group of one hour races only recently added to the game...
Hopefully the new ones are "fixed" and the a.i. runs a fair and realistic pace in the pits, even if there are two or three more of these broken challenges from when the game was new! 😯 .
But anyway, damn this one, with its' lack of music, solid pit sign, invisible wall, but mostly the broken pit stops, which as said are thankfully fixed in normal races outside these challenges! 😯😂😀🤘 .

I thought GT7 had SOME ridiculous events before I saw this one, but 10,000 credits for winning a 30 lap race?! - Wow PD!! 😯😂🩲😀🤘
And perhaps the most annoying part, we have to use sports tyres only in a wet race no less?! 😯😂🩲
