  • Deviled eggs are a classic recipe and perfect for the holidays, Easter or parties. Learn how to make deviled eggs (so easy!) and you’ll always have a healthy appetizer and snack recipe ready for the masses.
    My deviled eggs recipe is naturally gluten-free and also paleo, keto, low carb and whole30 friendly. It’s the classic recipe version though you can always spice it up with additional flavor variations like those on the full blog post below.

      I went to a link for your Avocado Egg Salad. I had found it on the deviled egg recipe you have on google, which I reviewed below as delicious. Your Avocado Egg salad says there is a video link, but there isn't one there downshiftology.com/recipes/avocado-egg-salad/ I couldn't find it on your channel either. I haven't subscribed to anyone in years, but you seem to have the same taste in food that I do. (Minus the red bell pepper I saw on one recipe. I'm a super-taster, and I hate hot spices) I look forward to trying the Avocado egg salad. Hopefully, you'll find that video.

    My mom makes the best deviled eggs and the plate is cleaned at every party. I would always try other peoples and it was always too tangy and not very savory, tasting overpoweringly like mustard, and there would always be left overs. I finally got my mom to give me the secret and it was to use ground mustard instead of the condiment. It adds that much needed unique kick that mustard gives without all the added vinegar that comes with liquid mustards. Trust me, anyone reading this, use ground mustard in place of liquid, and remember to only use a fraction of ground mustard as it's far more potent than liquid mustard.

    I make a smoked Jalapeno deviled egg. I smoked the eggs on my pellet smoker.
    Ingredients
    7 smoked eggs
    3 Tablespoons mayonnaise
    2 Teaspoons stone ground coarse mustard
    1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar
    2 teaspoons BBQ rub
    1 Tablespoon pickled jalapenos diced
    12 slices pickled jalapenos for garnish
    Instructions
    Slice the 7 hard smoked eggs in half. Gently scoop the yolks out into a medium mixing bowl. You can eat or discard the two egg whites that look the most beat up. You need the additional yolk in the filling to make the deviled eggs nice and full.
    Add in the mayonnaise, mustard, vinegar, BBQ rub, and pickled jalapenos to the egg yolks. Whisk vigorously to combine and fluff up the yolks.
    Use a spoon to fill each egg white with about 1 Tablespoon of the yolk mixture. Top with a sliced pickled jalapeno for each egg and then sprinkle them all with additional BBQ rub. Serve chilled.

    Another great way of making the perfect hard boiled egg is to start the eggs in the pot with water, turn the burner to high and the moment the water begins to boil, remove from the heat, cover, and set a timer for 15 minutes.
    This method cooks them gently and also avoids the overcooked green yolk and that foul [fart] smell that is associated with hard boiled eggs. No ice bath needed.

    Saturday April 8 2023 and I just made two dozen deviled eggs following your instructions. Worked like a charm. Peels fell off and they taste great.     They really are simple to make. I used to call them “party eggs” lol before I knew they were called deviled eggs. One year I spent a couple of hours to make them for a friend’s Christmas party and they were awesome. Takes a bit of time, but totally worth it 🙂

    For easy peeling just crack the eggs at 9 minutes in and lower heat most eggs will peel in one.

    Delicious. The best I ever had or made. Saw yours had the least amount of ingredients that I had. Kept it simple due to possible varying tastes at a Christmas party I was going to. Added a little sugar to ease the tang, but man were they good. Will try some of your added ingredient next time. They were a hit at the party. Whouda thunk of Apple Cider vinegar? I think that was the difference maker.

    I watched 4 videos and this looks like the best and easiest to follow. I have been making deviled eggs for years but they don’t come out good. I am cooking for a 10 people and I am excited to see how these eggs taste!

      Downshiftology I have actually been adding fine shredded basil..I put it in the hollow white..before the stuffing.. it does not fall off or darken...and the kids don’t notice.haha

    Well I just made these and they are great. I used apple juice instead of apple cider vinegar. I also put a couple small pieces of soft crumbled bacon on top of half of them. The only problem with this recipe is you cant wait your turn to get some, because they'll be gone.

      We always added a little pickle juice. Same tang, but no worries about crunchiness.

    I really liked this recipe. I liked that you had slightly higher filling quantities (e.g., 3 tablespoons of mayo instead of just 2) compared to other recipes that I saw. This allowed for overstuffing of the eggs, the way you have it in the picture. The taste proportions are right, and it just looks better that way too.
