My dad retired from Amtrak. He got his recipe from the diner car of Penn. Rail Road. He used whipped cream cheese, spicy brown mustard, sweet relish w/ some of pickling vinegar in it, salt, Worcestershire sauce (dash or two to taste) and paprika on top to garnish. He used the extra yolk mixture by stuffing 2" pieces of celery and on toast corners w/o the crust. Try it - they're always the 1st appetizer to go!
Chef. You nailed it with the Guacamole Devil eggs! LOVE IT. It's a game-changer at my house, it was gone seconds after serving it. Thank you, thank you. 🙏🙏
Love the big boy version, Chef! I'll surely try that next time when I'm going for presentation! I make smoked deviled eggs. I brought them to a football party and I had 3 friends text the next day asking how they were made. I first dice up a lb of bacon and slowly cook in a dutch oven pan. Then I take peeled hard boiled eggs and lightly smoke them with little to no heat for about an hour. I then half, and put yolks in a mixing bowl with mayo, diced jalapenos, and instead of traditional seasonings, use your favorite bbq rub. Then I mix and pipe into the egg white halves, top with crumbled bacon and dust with the bbq rub.
I'm a fan of southern style, but I do half relish, half pickled jalapeños that have been finely diced. I also add a bit of the jalapeno brine in. Adds an awesome kick, and is sooo tasty! I'm gonna have to try the bacon and avocado ones soon!
Thanks! I'm 65 years old, I do cook but never have done deviled eggs. We are having a party and I wanted to do deviled eggs. I sure hope I don't mess them up!
I have a recipe that mimics the traditional recipe of deviled eggs that I call Diablo Eggs. Instead of relish, you use diced jalepenos. Replace half of your mayo with creamy horseradish. Then finally garnish with chili powder instead of paprika. What you end up with is a spicy (from horseradish) and heat (from the peppers) that contrasts well with the cold egg and mayo. Its really quite tasty, but not for those who don't handle a little heat well.
omg! Made your bacon - chive eggs tonight and they are AMAZING! They are for my Christmas party tomorrow, everyone is going to LOVE them! Thank you for sharing this awesome video/tutorial! xoxo
I do a version with minced pickled shallots instead of relish, a little horseradish in the mayo, and topped with a sliver of jalapeno and crumbled bacon. Love deviled eggs! These look fantastic as well
Nice job, but I could feel 11 generations of my Southern grandmothers clutching their pearls over those lumpy “southern” eggs that lacked pickle juice and 4 of those generations were “blessing his heart” over the use of mayo instead of Miracle Whip. Tsk Tsk Tsk.
For variety #2 I skip the minced dill and just use dill pickle relish. It's a little bit more "deviled" in my opinion. I could totally go for the bacon and chive ones---have never tried that.
What a blessing you are to this Vermonter living Down Under! I dislike mayo.... and have made them with water.... NOT VERY gourmet.... I know! IT works.... but the avocado🥑 recipe LOOKS SUPERB! Blessings from farm in rural South Australia 🇦🇺🇺🇸🇦🇺🇺🇸🇦🇺🇺🇸🇦🇺🇺🇸
I find using a pastry blender easiest for breaking up yolks for deviled eggs. Chef, you are so enjoyable to watch - I'm having the time of my life as I binge so ty.
I do a similar deviled egg as your bacon, chive version. Instead of Tabasco, I put a spoon of creamed horseradish. I like the old fashioned mustard with mustard seeds. I also put smoked paprika on the bottom and top and put tiny pimento pieces, chives and bacon bits on top. I do another version with 3 slices of green olives with pimento on top when I don't have bacon. They are amazing as I'm sure yours are too. TFS
I use finely minced celery in mine..If I make the bacon deviled eggs some finely chopped tomato is great as a topper. I have used green olives as a topper as well. I will definitely try the guacamole style eggs!
When I make my deviled eggs I always crush up about 5 or 6 saltines into a powder and add it to my filling it keeps it from being too running but also gives it a nice texture and also you don't have to salt believe me try ITIT's amazing
I don't think I've ever seen deviled eggs in the grocery store, and I probably wouldn't trust them to be good if I had! I make awesome deviled eggs myself, so I'm not trusting any mass production process!
Variations on a theme - classic, skip the vinegar, use less mayo and mustard and go HEAVY on the hot sauce!!! no need for salt and pepper at that point! That is the house favorite here for years, it puts the DEVIL in devilled eggs. Next up is this Asian variant, substitute the hot sauce for just a spoonful of Chinese Chili Crisp. We use Lao Gan Ma, keep in mind a little goes a long way so taste test as you add. Enjoy!
Name another hard boiled recipe that’s BETTER than deviled eggs ? “Goldenrod” OMG. It’s a hand-me-down multi-generation recipe for special family days like Easter or Christmas morning. Restaurant buffets would be wise to use this in place of eggs Benedict under heat lamps
I noticed when you took the egg yolk out of the hard boiled egg, that the yolk was centred. For whatever reason my yolks quite often are off to the side which makes it hard to peel. Could it be that I am putting too many eggs in the pan? Are the eggs too fresh or too old ( I know how to check for freshness ) My eggs are straight from the farmer and are room temp because I don’t refrigerate. This is a mystery to me. I also like making pickled eggs but having that egg yolk centred would be so much better
Can’t wait to try these. I get free FRESH eggs from a local farmer and need new ideas. I love deviled eggs too. One of my favorite ingredient/topping choices is kalamata olives. Thanks again for your straightforward ideas. I like that you get right down to business with none of that annoying background music. Now I’m going to a playlist I see on the side to find your mayonnaise recipe and tips for hard boiling the eggs.

Hello Mary
How are you doing today?
That sounds amazing
We make deviled eggs every few weeks...we add BBQ sauce, mustard, relish, and lots of green onion, and it's awesome
Delicious
Ooh it’s kinda like a guacamole deviled egg!! This will be a backyard party game changer this summer 😍 Thanks for the idea!
Yup!
Great new idea for me. Yum 😋
What about adding lime juice to the avocado egg? It already has cumin and cilantro.
@@Colorbrush21 I came here for this comment.
Deviled eggs can be made SO many different ways, I just love how versatile they are. Thanks for the great ideas!
I smoked my eggs (with meat) and started making deviled eggs, and it was HIT !!!! 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰

Yum
Black seed oil, wasabi powder, garlic powder, horseradish, bourbon maple syrup, vinegar are some other great things to add to deviled eggs.
I use a potato ricer to crumble my hard boiled egg yolks. Works great.
Great idea!
Awesome idea

Deviled eggs can be so boring but these look fantastic. Looking forward to trying them on my Christmas Buffet this year! Thank you.

Now I want to make chipotle deviled eggs. Maybe with avacdo.
I will eat 8-10 with Pillsbury croissant rolls. This video rocks.
You should dabble into using horseradish.... yummy 🤓
You could also buy your favorite guac and blend smooth first and then add in 🥰
I do a version with minced pickled shallots instead of relish, a little horseradish in the mayo, and topped with a sliver of jalapeno and crumbled bacon.
Love deviled eggs! These look fantastic as well
Filling looks too runny to me. I use as little mayonnaise as possible because I like it that way.
They all look so delicious. Thank you for some of your ideas. I may try the avocados in them. Looks super tasty.
Mr.P. I just love this devil egg recipes thank you and may God Bless 🙏
A ricer is great for the yolks.

Miracle whip’s been around for over 200 years?
All 4 sound wonderful! Our family trading is to add some curry powder , it’s yummy!
Ooo I’ve been wanting to make deviled eggs! Lovely video!
Thank you so kindly!!

Chef, the bacon deviled eggs came out grrrrrrrrrreat, thanks for the recipe

So for the southern bacon one what did you do with the smaller side of the egg that you cut off?
Should have his own TV show on food network.

Can you make the avocado recipe the day before?
You should try frying the hard boiled egg first. Then make deviled eggs. They are really good!
These recipes are no Yolk.
Huh?
