Morimoto 4Runner Headlight Issues w/Fix // Fuse Box Set Up

I have a 2020 TRD Off Road Premium and my DRL aren't working no more. I can turn it to parking lights and the lights come on but when I switch it to DRL mode they don't come on. I'm wondering if this is the issue
For those of you having trouble closing your fuse box top after putting in the add-a-fuse, there is a company called minwin3d that makes an extender that goes between the fuse box and the cover. We had the same issue on my wife’s TRD Pro and this was the perfect fix.
The grey 4runner from the morimoto advertisement is mine. Can confirm, they've got a ton of issues with them. Think I'm on my 3rd set of headlights. Drl failure is the main issues.
I bet you can hook up a meter to figure out what the leds are drawing so you can get rid of some of those fuse taps
My wife swears her driving lights randomly turn on and off when Parked. She has seen it twice so now im wondering if this is at all related. We also have a Limited. Guess ill be calling Morimoto... Anyone seen this before?
Hello, did you connect all the grounds to the same bolt? I already have my raptor lights connected to the ground and was gonna do the same to install the fang lights. Would that be ok?
Spoke with a Morimoto rep today and he said that they will be publishing new instructions (and perhaps new fuse tap with longer wire). He said they are no longer suggesting the EFI 2 due to the reasons stated in this video where there is some sort of test with the fuel pump causing the lights to turn on. Instead they are suggesting to go through the firewall and tap an auxiliary in the fuse box under the dash. He went on to add that this will assure that DRL’s will only get power when truck is running. Haven’t tried this method yet but it is similar to what my Cali Raised Raptor lights are running so I am assuming this will work as well.
Has anyone else had a hell of a time contacting Morimoto? I have had nothing but terrible customer service up until recently. Anthony had helped me out. And I specifically told him I need the Limited/TRD Pro harness. Moral of the story I have the TRD OR Premium and he sent me the same harness (LF531H-2) ... this harness is incorrect, now I have 3 of the same harness! The correct harness should have been (LF531H) for anyone wondering what part number to order.
Was it the LF531H harness?
2020 has the same fuse panel under the hood as 2021 2022 etc
THANK YOU! I have been having the same issue where I’ll go out from work or in the garage after I saw it switch off and lo and behold, the bloody DRL’s are stuck on till I cycle the ignition. I knew I was going to have to swap fuse taps but you made it much easier just following your spot. Figured soon enough some LEDs were going to burn out or I was goijg to come back to a dead battery. Surprisingly there’s not anything on this problem on any forums either

Hi Ryan, or anyone - when you put in the fuse tap for the one on the far right, your dash lights didn't come on? The 2x I tried to put the tap there, 5 dash lights came on and I lost my cruise control. My friend reset them.
Your videos are super helpful! I have a 2022 4runner sr5 Trail runner special edition. Installed the headlights and the right side turning signal and running lights wouldnt work.
Ryan, question for you I put the morimoto lights in the 7.5 amp fuse slot this morning only because I was having an issue with the INJ port because the car wouldn’t start like it wasn’t getting fuel. Any workaround for this?
Did you use dielectric grease on the connectors? I noticed after install and my first wash the connectors got a little water on then
Does the Trd/limited harness have the same plug size? I have a 22Runner trd sport with no high beams.
with that 10amp fused being used I can't fully close my fuse box cover. wouldn't that be an issue with water getting in?
