Installed mine today, got them at the Black Friday discount,, look great and install was simple.. few install details to add.. the screw in the back of the lights is to adjust the beams. Some are reporting the the turn signal is hyper speed, and that might be the result of all LED bulbs in the rear, and resister are required, I did not have that issue. great quality lights, Thank You HR
Really great, helped me so so much (along with the official Morimoto documentation) as I installed mine. I am absolutely not mechanically gifted or confident. The forward lighting of my 4Runner is easily twice as good now - getting out on the trail tonight to see under real conditions. I estimate when you also factor in the style points, that these are a 3x upgrade on the stock headlights. Took me all day, but already glad I did it. Time to align them!!
I used this video as a guide to install the Morimoto XB Gen 2 headlights and it was spot on. There are some other videos of this install, but this one was shorter and we'll done: it was one of the only videos to explain how to properly pull / peel the sides of the bumper first to remove it once all the fasteners were out. This video gave me the confidence to try this install by myself and it went off without a hitch. Thank you.
Sadly with my SR5 I’m unable to get DRLs . Have tried both fuse spots the mirror heater and also the INJ and it just doesn’t work . Everything else looks and works as i was expecting . 1st gen low beam illumination works good . Definitely brighter than stock halogen bulbs . But there’s not enough difference if you just put some good quality LED bulbs in the original housing . The problem with the first gen of morimoto is in high beam . The light output is not enough . My truck used to have the original high beam with LED bulbs installed and I definitely miss those .... just for the high beam . They used to work just perfect and were much brighter . This issue has allegedly been resolved in the second gen . Would have loved to be able to change the DRL from white to amber . But there’s no way to do that either . Turn signals are awesome though . Very very bright . They just look very good on the truck
Glad that you like these headlights, but I am sorry to hear that the fuse tap harness isnt working for you! If you just email into us, we will be happy to get that DRL working for you! As for the Gen 1 headlights, they have been discontinued and we are now selling the Gen 2, those got the update on the high beam that I think you though was missing some light output. I would check those out, you might want to dope your Gen 1s and get a new pair of the Gen 2s! Let us know if there is anything we can do for you!
We don't make any products, we just love lighting and like to help people with their projects! I don't know of anything available for a Tucson like that, unfortunately products only get built for vehicles with a large aftermarket following.
I know this is late, but just in case anyone else has this issue on a 2020. I installed the headlights without completely removing the bumper, therefore not having to mess with safety sense. Just removed one side of the bumper out enough to access the bolts and remove/replace the headlight. Then reset the competed side and repeat on the opposite end.
I'm so disappointed they arent available with amber drl. Guess it's back to waiting with fingers crossed that some similar type of headlight will be released in the future
@@smallsbygucci7635 everyone's entitled to their own opinion, it is a law that turn signals must be amber (or with combined tail turn lights red), but I think amber is a badass color especially when paired with black (which is my 4runner's color). White is so stock and average, everyone is using white drls and headlights, amber is a cool and road legal color for accent and custom feel lights I have amber grill marker lights, rear hatch license plate lights, etc- badass look

Awesome video just installed these on my 2020 trdor. I know this is probably a stupid question but how do you get the fuse box to close with the wire to the headlights? I don’t want to close down on the wires and damage them.
Headlight Revolution well i sat on one trd off road to be honest it looked a bit dated to me from the inside i know mechanically its a tank but that interior is just a bit bland

If you follow the instructions in this video, Your heated mirrors will still work. The fuse tap is a clever way of getting power to the XB LED Headlights without having to add any more complicated wiring. Everything will still function as it did from the factory on your 4Runner. -Chris W
It really depends. A lot of the bulbs will produce more light in general, while this headlight replacement will make a more clean refined beam pattern.
After buying these headlights, can i take it to a local toyota dealer shop and get em’ to install it for me? I don’t mind paying the labour, i just don’t want to mess anything up.
You should be able to! I would ask them first just in case. If they don’t want to do it, a local aftermarket accessory shop should be able to help you out.
I prefer 55w hid gtr lighting or morimoto low beam and high beam and some leds in the fogs and am sure will be even brighter than these pair of headlights!

5:57 Hmmmmm... close the fuse box lid over the headlight cable... so when you are passing through water crossings (snorkel installed), much water can go inside your fuse box. This is not good. Morimoto headlights were removed from my wanted list, LED high beams were added. Too bad since these headlights are ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL!!!
@@nikz2054 LED's are good for reflector housings. Practically made for them. The ones I have in my projectors are good for both. ITs the very "cheap" ones that are bad. Mine are $49 each for high n low set.
Headlight Revolution they have about $60 in plastic, maybe $200 in the chips and wiring. I’m all for capitalism. If they get people to pay almost $1200 for these, more power to them. But a smart business would shave profit off a few big ticket sales and go for profit from volume. I bet a lot of people won’t pay $1k for them, but around $800 would probable be a price point that a lot of the target demographic could justify. And at $650, I bet it would triple their profit based on volume. But hey, not my business, but I wouldn’t think twice about buying them at $650, as it’s only 3x the cost of doing a set of Auxbeam high and lows. These lights look good. They apparently perform pretty good. But enough to justify 5-6x the cost of the Auxbeam leds that do a pretty good job? Nope. If I win the lotto, maybe I’ll get set

Garon Lemieux ok let me know what you find out. Apparently if you call Morimoto they will tell you that you need to put an additional part on the DRL turn signal to eliminate the hyper flash. Apparently something changed on the 2020 vs 2019
From our understanding, the Morimoto headlights are not manufactured in China, they are manufactured in Taiwan. That's where 99% of housings are manufactured, even OEM headlights and tail lights.

Can you make a video for a 2020 with safety sense? The bumper removal is different because of the safety sense pieces.
Matt Richard you can unplug the safety sense. The plug is in the middle in front of the radiator.
You will also need to unplug the bumper sensors. The plug for that sits between the battery and bumper.

You should still be able to close the fuse box with the wire coming out, it won't cause any damage at all!

Yes, regardless you will still need to install the DRL Harness for all functions to work as intended.

Do the headlights work with the grille amber lights too? I saw you took the amber lights off after.
The amber lights are wired to the fuse box, so there shouldn’t be any issues with the headlights and those lights

Is there any light height calibration required during installation?
You should always aim your headlights after you get the install done. They can be adjusted with a screwdriver from the engine bay.

Hello. I’m just wondering if what kind of LED headlight bulb would you recommend for a Reflector housing? I have a 2008 toyota Yaris sedan.
I use opt7 "FluxBeam core v.2 (5k output)" in my projector housing and shines like a diamond.
