Never the less for viewers that are not native English speakers it can be quite difficult to understand spoken values 22:50. I recommend that you write values as text in the video.

Looks way better than the tesla to me. Tesla interior is too minimalistic to me. This colour looks very nice on the car as well. Best looking electric vehicle.
The red paint in this variant really makes it pop. The e-tron seems to be an incredibly successful car from Norway and German sales, so I hope there are more e-tron bodystyles like the A5 and A7 versions.
Great car!! But I believe that there is a misconception regarding what the customer wants. No need for more power but there is a need for more range! People want a 500 km range not more power.
@@CybertuxSpain I agree, I do not need 500 km at all, and even less for an electric car that I can charge all nights, I do not remember the last time that I did more than 300 km in one day... and with an electric car that you could have 300 km every morning, I do not see the issue.

Impressive vehicle by Audi ! I'm an enthusiastic fan of e-mobility. Own a Jaguar I Pace and a Porsche Macan...and i definitely prefer the performance of the electric motor over the gasoline engine. My I Pace now has a range of 265 miles per charge after a recent software enhancement. The Audi needs to catch up to make this vehicle more appealing. Other than that, very attractive SUV. The etron is a larger car so naturally it is more thirsty. Love how many people campare large BEVs with smäller BEVs... Ofcourse a VW Polo has better milage than a VW touareg.....
Oi Oi Oi! How so aside from build quality? Inferior software battery and range. Not efficient. Can’t match ap/fsd. Slower than Tesla performance model. No supercharging network. No ota updates. So how is it better than the Tesla?

Wdym long term use, it’s colours! Blue is darker so it may absorb more heat from sunlight, but no problems if you’re in Europe. Red is really flashy and easily visible.

This move has automatically made it the most advanced car infotainment in the industry. I love this new entron design as well. I am a techy guy, and genuinely happy i am spoilt for choice. Edit: Damn, its starting price is $20,000 more than polestar. Yeah, that's gonna be a tough sell

Looks great. But I have feeling it is heavier than it should be, thus hurting the range it has (consummation is 25.5 kWh/100 km when driving normally !) and driving agility. Wonder what the price will be?

Hello Thomas! Great review. Does it come with the regular rear end. Ie, no sport back? I have an SQ5 which has 21 inch wheels - the petrol version - which is still quite comfortable with the air suspension. Was hoping that there would be a Hybrid version, but you already said no. So am interested in the Etron. What do the paddles do on this car? Thanks. 🙏
Excellent Review. That's an expensive - but nice - 2nd (or 3rd) car for the rich, to drive about in locally - with the usual Audi's/Merc/BMW 'expensive-options-options-options-ethos'. For an EV, I think I'd rather just buy a simple e-Golf for local driving - wait, they're about to stop making them. No worries. A nearly new e-Golf then! It'll be cheaper than an ID.3, anyway. I'm not a vegan myself, I don't think I could be, but I do wish that automakers would move away from leather. High-end textiles are nicer to look at, nicer to touch, grip better, and - as you regularly remind us - don't have the problems with temperature shifts. They are also easier to maintain, as they don't need regular conditioning and a stain can be removed with some Shout and elbow grease. I mean, look at Volvo and Polestar interiors; those look properly 21st century. Audi is definitely starting to feel dated in spite of their overall solid execution.
I am in the US and here the Tesla gets all the news when it comes to EVs. I do not like Tesla's at all; their poor quality and interiors just completely turn me off. I'm 48 so I've had many well built vehicles over the last 25 years and when I sit in a Model 3 or Y I feel like I'm in the cheap economy car I had in college. When I see these Audi E-Tron reviews, I drool-----they are MAGNIFICENT! When I go EV, Audi will be FIRST on my list.
Trevor Sutherland You are right; long time Audi driver, I’ve purchased a Tesla Model S100d last year and sold it after seven months because of the atrocious built quality. I’ve ordered an etron S Sportback and can’t wait to get it in December!
In America we are seeing so many brands ending sedan production. I am really saddened by this since I don’t find boxy SUV particularly attractive. This model seems to be the perfect compromise, familiar sedan silhouette with all the capabilities of those hunchback crossovers and SUVs. We are in dire need of a ‘strong car’ segment. I hope this model does well enough for others to follow suit.

You don't say anything about the costs...what happens when the batteries worn out? In a diesel if the turbo goes out then you replace the turbo, in a reg engine a pipe bursts you replace the pipe which is not too much trouble but when the batteries for this E tron worn out then what? What would be the cost? How long these batteries run for before they go bust? 2 years? 3 years?
Thomas, very nice review. Big AUDI fan in general and impressed by this vehicle. This vehicle is actually on my very short list. I must say though the one thing that incessantly BOTHERS me about your reviews over the past few years is your unnecessary criticism and complaint of the choice of 'animal skin" uhhh,! "They shouldn't do leather " etc.etc. Listen some people are into Mbex/ fake leather or non animal skin AND some want leather or Alcantara etc. It's a choice O.K.! Please its starting to become a turn off. Your're making the viewer feel turned off criticizing the manufacturers. There is a luxury that leather evokes and some of us still want that. Otherwise good video.

However even if meat would be the reason no.1 in other cases, the hide remains one of the most profitable body parts. That means: If manufacturers put animal leather in a car and you accept it as a customer, you give your money to an industry that earns money by oppressing humans, animals and destroys the environment, you make them more profitable. Also, if you turn the argument around "meat is the waste of the leather industry" you realize how biased the argument is. After all, would you care for which exact body part you would be murdered? Or imagine someone robs you on the street and beats you to death - would it matter to you if it was for your Smartphone or for your purse? The animal agriculture industry occupies 2/3 of all farm land on this planet which cannot be used for direct human nutrition then. That is extremely inefficient. The no.1 cause for deforestation is the animal industry. It is also one of the biggest contributor to climate change. The amount of land, resources, energy and water being used is beyond imagination. For the alternative, you can either use artificial fabrics which can be made from recyclables (we have already shown a lot of vehicles that use great fabric seats from PET-bottles etc.) or more and more also from plant-based materials (like Pinatex). And even if you would create a seat completely with petroleum without a recycling share, the amount of oil being used for that is nothing in comparing just to once fueling up your car. In practical reasons, fabric or microfibre seats are just more useful. You do not sweat in summer and it is not cold in winter. And if you want the slick look or something to wipe clean easier, that is possible with animal free leatherette. Using animal skin on seats is a major issue of animal rights, human rights - and after all it is just common sense what is better both for the environment and just more practical and more luxurious for the customer. We cannot change what we have bought in the past (that also counts for ourselves of course!), but with more information and compassion we can change how we decide in the future.

Switching to leather interior in todays cars is as much a luxury as upgrading your Big Mac to a Double Big Mac. I dont care about materials, but leather in 2020 doesnt exude anything. Its an affordable option on all entry level cars.
I think I prefer the Navarro blue to Thomas blue even though I have no clue as why the blue colour is called Navarro 🤷🏼♂️ But why no one is offering car seats in Merino wool still baffles me, it is warm in the winter and cool in the summer and is either from not very environmental friendly leather preparation or petroleum based like Alcantara
you can create fabric/micro fibre seats from recyclables. As for wool and especially merino wool, I have to disappoint you, just google "mulesing" or "merino cruelty" and you ll easily find that there is a lot of suffering in the wool industry. If we would imagine we send them to the hair trimmer like a dog salon, sure, on an individual scale. But that's not how that stuff is being produced sadly :/
Really, does everything manufactured on this planet have to be made “affordable” for everyone on the planet? If you appreciate the quality of something and would like to possess it, but don’t have the monetary means then do something about it - like save for it, re-educate and earn more, get a second job etc. Bemoaning the fact is saddest.

I could resell them for more than I bought them for. But spending 100k dollars on a massively depreciating car somehow seems dumb ass to me. Go figure. Buy things that hold their value well. Wonderful review, Thomas. Overall, the S Sportback is a nice sporty design. The dual rear motors are a good innovation. But the car fails to deliver in two important areas in the interior. Using a touch screen for climate functions is a clumsier way to control the system than normal buttons and dials. And animal skin seats have no place in an otherwise forward thinking design. It makes no sense for comfort, sustainability, or the welfare of animals. Please check out the video on this channel on this subject for more information. The silhouette of the car is the best in the segment by far. There are a couple of things; first is too heavy, only the battery is 700 kilos. second, the side views virtual mirrors are positioned too low, and last but not least, the range is very poor. When you look at the specs, Audi said 410 km but effectively is whey less. But damn she's so sexy. Ps acceleration is pretty bad from what I see from this video. Long way to go Audi but the road is right. Ps, what the purpose to build electrics cars to respect the planet when you use animal skin for the seats....That's not ok Audi. Nice review BTW, as usual.
If you're going to have rear view cameras instead of mirrors, why make the ugly sticks to mount them? Just put them on the back of the car. Less drag, less width, less cost, looks much better. PS: Electric cars should be much cheaper than cars with combustion engines.

Definitely one of the BEVs I wouldn't mind buying used in four to six years' time if made available in Canada.
I wonder if a full fat RS is coming (maybe in the eTron GT?) - four motors etc. The steering wheel seems a bit big for a sporty version.

High-end textiles are nicer to look at, nicer to touch, grip better, and - as you regularly remind us - don't have the problems with temperature shifts. They are also easier to maintain, as they don't need regular conditioning and a stain can be removed with some Shout and elbow grease.
I mean, look at Volvo and Polestar interiors; those look properly 21st century. Audi is definitely starting to feel dated in spite of their overall solid execution.

I am in the US and here the Tesla gets all the news when it comes to EVs. I do not like Tesla's at all; their poor quality and interiors just completely turn me off. I'm 48 so I've had many well built vehicles over the last 25 years and when I sit in a Model 3 or Y I feel like I'm in the cheap economy car I had in college. When I see these Audi E-Tron reviews, I drool-----they are MAGNIFICENT! When I go EV, Audi will be FIRST on my list.

In America we are seeing so many brands ending sedan production. I am really saddened by this since I don’t find boxy SUV particularly attractive.
This model seems to be the perfect compromise, familiar sedan silhouette with all the capabilities of those hunchback crossovers and SUVs. We are in dire need of a ‘strong car’ segment. I hope this model does well enough for others to follow suit.
I like the looks more than the regular e-tron.
When you are driving a EV you will have the Radio or Sound System on to drown out road noise. I'd get used to the side cameras.

You don't say anything about the costs...what happens when the batteries worn out? In a diesel if the turbo goes out then you replace the turbo, in a reg engine a pipe bursts you replace the pipe which is not too much trouble but when the batteries for this E tron worn out then what? What would be the cost? How long these batteries run for before they go bust? 2 years? 3 years?

I must say though the one thing that incessantly BOTHERS me about your reviews over the past few years is your unnecessary criticism and complaint of the choice of 'animal skin" uhhh,!

In general, depending on the animal skin grade, the animals are specifically raised for this matter. However even if meat would be the reason no.1 in other cases, the hide remains one of the most profitable body parts. That means: If manufacturers put animal leather in a car and you accept it as a customer, you give your money to an industry that earns money by oppressing humans, animals and destroys the environment, you make them more profitable. Also, if you turn the argument around "meat is the waste of the leather industry" you realize how biased the argument is. After all, would you care for which exact body part you would be murdered? Or imagine someone robs you on the street and beats you to death - would it matter to you if it was for your Smartphone or for your purse?
The animal agriculture industry occupies 2/3 of all farm land on this planet which cannot be used for direct human nutrition then. That is extremely inefficient. The no.1 cause for deforestation is the animal industry. It is also one of the biggest contributor to climate change. The amount of land, resources, energy and water being used is beyond imagination.
For the alternative, you can either use artificial fabrics which can be made from recyclables (we have already shown a lot of vehicles that use great fabric seats from PET-bottles etc.) or more and more also from plant-based materials (like Pinatex). And even if you would create a seat completely with petroleum without a recycling share, the amount of oil being used for that is nothing in comparing just to once fueling up your car.
In practical reasons, fabric or microfibre seats are just more useful. You do not sweat in summer and it is not cold in winter. And if you want the slick look or something to wipe clean easier, that is possible with animal free leatherette.
Using animal skin on seats is a major issue of animal rights, human rights - and after all it is just common sense what is better both for the environment and just more practical and more luxurious for the customer. We cannot change what we have bought in the past (that also counts for ourselves of course!), but with more information and compassion we can change how we decide in the future.

Switching to leather interior in todays cars is as much a luxury as upgrading your Big Mac to a Double Big Mac. I dont care about materials, but leather in 2020 doesnt exude anything. Its an affordable option on all entry level cars.

you can create fabric/micro fibre seats from recyclables. As for wool and especially merino wool, I have to disappoint you, just google "mulesing" or "merino cruelty" and you ll easily find that there is a lot of suffering in the wool industry. If we would imagine we send them to the hair trimmer like a dog salon, sure, on an individual scale. But that's not how that stuff is being produced sadly :/

If you appreciate the quality of something and would like to possess it, but don’t have the monetary means then do something about it - like save for it, re-educate and earn more, get a second job etc. Bemoaning the fact is saddest.

Wonderful review, Thomas. Overall, the S Sportback is a nice sporty design. The dual rear motors are a good innovation. But the car fails to deliver in two important areas in the interior. Using a touch screen for climate functions is a clumsier way to control the system than normal buttons and dials. And animal skin seats have no place in an otherwise forward thinking design. It makes no sense for comfort, sustainability, or the welfare of animals. Please check out the video on this channel on this subject for more information. The silhouette of the car is the best in the segment by far. There are a couple of things; first is too heavy, only the battery is 700 kilos. second, the side views virtual mirrors are positioned too low, and last but not least, the range is very poor. When you look at the specs, Audi said 410 km but effectively is whey less. But damn she's so sexy. Ps acceleration is pretty bad from what I see from this video. Long way to go Audi but the road is right. Ps, what the purpose to build electrics cars to respect the planet when you use animal skin for the seats....That's not ok Audi. Nice review BTW, as usual.
If you're going to have rear view cameras instead of mirrors, why make the ugly sticks to mount them? Just put them on the back of the car. Less drag, less width, less cost, looks much better. PS: Electric cars should be much cheaper than cars with combustion engines.
