He's talking about lingo now vs then....when a hoe (prostitute) was a hoe (tool), coke (drug) was a Coke (soda) and Crack (drug) meant cracking jokes....I'm down with that didn't meant the same thing thirty years ago as it does today.
Radio stations used to play any genre of music - no such thing as "crossover" styles. Nowadays you can't even get an Oldies station to play a song that is now considered to be country - "Counting Flowers on a Wall comes to mind."
@@ki11atj49 no, 10-2-4 is Dr. Pepper. It was their marketing campaign years ago. Google Dr. Pepper 10-2-4 and Im sure some of the advertising pieces will come up. They have several of them at the museum in Waco where is was created, Ive been there.
My hubby had a fried bologna sandwich for lunch today! Down with that...came down with the flu. I'm laughing so hard with this one. Several things that you missed with this one. You should go back and listen again when you get time. Enjoyed!
You not cracking up at "back when a screw was a screw/the wind was all that blew" makes a good line so much funnier. I can't hear this song without absolutely cracking up at that part, it's so good.
Gotta love when he talks about puttin pop in his country when the man brought Nelly into country😂 Love me some Nelly and Tim but the man is talkin mess on himself😂
It's an old timers thing. You open a bottle of Dr Pepper and take a drink or two then pour small bag of Planter's peanuts in the Dr Pepper. The salt on the peanuts caused it to "fizz up" Never figured out why but my dad did it all the time. And the bottle had 10 2 and 4 on the logo. You'd put more peanuts in the bottle at certain points and eat them after you drank the pepper
He is talking about when we could do it all like having a radio station that plays them all country soul and rock and a roll hell I remember the stations that played all even a fried bologna sandwich this makes think of the seventies
I miss those days. My childhood years. Born in 79. I grew up when the world was a lot different. Raised on fried bologna and spam. Lora hated spam lol if you opened it around her she would leave the room.
A hoe is a gardening tool but the term has become associated with a woman who sleeps around. So he's saying he wishes that the word hoe still was only associated with the gardening tool and not the derogatory version of hoe.
Billy, we just recently found your channel and my son is already hooked - he's 3. He loves your intro. I'll try to find a way to send you a clip of him.
Your lucky my taste buds decide to change at least three times a year. One week I loved something and the next I didn’t even want to look at it after a bite or two
Fizz in the pepper- Dr Pepper. I have one bologna sandwich a years when the garden comes in. Crack comes from Ireland. It means talking with your friends and making jokes.
you should listen to Earth To God by John Rich - very relevant during these times. Just found you a few days ago and love listening/watching while I plan lessons and grade work....
Do You Remember These by The Oak Ridge Boys is a song along a similar vein. "I came down with that" was used to mean that whatever virus/sickness was going around has brought you down, as in you no longer up and on your feet. Also, a hoe is a name for a farming tool, like for hoing a row in a garden.
I love me a bologna sandwich! A hoe is a garden tool to till the garden before it referred to a hoe (someone who sleeps around). Also putting peanuts in a bottle of coke a cola is really good. You get a salty and sweet. Then eat the peanuts after you drink the coke.
I really want Billy to react genuinely like he always does to some songs Riley Green :- Numbers on Cars, Jesus & Wranglers & Behind the Time & A country song named What do I know
I totally made my husband a fried bologna sandwich to take to work with him (he's AD) and he said he doesn't like them. We've been married 13 years and I finally made him my favorite childhood sandwich just to find out HE DOESN'T LIKE THEM! It's not a deal breaker but it's close.
Please please do a reaction to Journey When you love a woman it’s one of the last videos before the broke up, If you liked Shania Twain’s From this Moment you will so love, When you love a woman so please do a reaction for this song!!!!! Sending love from Tennessee
The saying "I'm down with that then that you had the flu" is a very new Western saying I live in Wisconsin and some older folk still say that and mean they have the flu. If you don't know these things and you talk to a lot of older folk you will be very confused.
Just discovered ya when i was watching the video for private malone, i got one that will make u buckle.....do a reaction to "little bonnie by drive by truckers", and "dress blues" by jason isbell, u gonna cry like a girl

Which is funny because Coke (soda) is called Coke because it originally had up to 60mg of coke (drug).

Hell yeah always like to hear people bring Bucky up. I've drank many a beer with him out on the lake lol
Lmao, he said "when a ho was a ho" not home. He meant a garden ho lol

I read something explained what it was and I don’t think it was fizz in the Dr. Pepper. It was some slang term. I’ll look it Up.
