A situation like this that I was involved in when I was a paramedic, and had to treat a child in this situation is one reason I am no longer an active paramedic, All I could do was my job and pray the police, attorneys an jurors would do theirs as well. Great (as could be expected) reaction to this song.
In an interview, Jason revealed that it took him two years to write this song. He added that it was such an emotionally painful process that he actually developed migraines.
I use to cry when I heard this song. It's been a while since it's made me cry, just because I was use to it. But watching you.. 🥺 your reaction had me bawling.
I grew up in this situation but I unfortunately I learned to hide it too well. Luckily a social worker was in the right place at the right time and got me and my little brother and sister out. I can't not cry at this song because it hits so close to home.
He spent two years writing this. It was so emotionally painful to write that he got migraines while writing. It is based on a true story of a girl that wasn't saved from abuse in time. It seemed to him that no matter what he wrote, he would never be satisfied with it. When he realized that he would not be able to make the song perfect, he tried the best he could to make it realistic and sufficiently emotional. After three years, he felt it was as heartfelt as he could make it, and recorded the song
Only a cowardly punk would beat a child. All say "See something, say something." In the case of child abuse the mantra should be "see something, DO something.
God bless you, Maddy. Every child is a miracle of creation who deserves to be cherished and nutured, not conditioned then exploited. I remind myself often of what My Lord and Savior said regarding abused children and those who abuse them. Their angels behold the face of the father. Pray not for the children, Maddy. Pray for their tormentors. I can tell you from personal experience, the Lord answers the prayers of a child. Once again, God bless you for making. An effort.
I'm 63 and I cry every time I hear this song

Amazing song about the effects of bullying and being involved and receptive to children’s cries that might not be so obvious!!!!
Concrete Angel is another song that brings awareness to child abuse. It’s also a tear jerker but needs to be seen.
This song should be played at the beginning of the school year
