The Porsche 911 GT3 has always been one of my favorite cars of all time. In this documentary, we find out why the Porsche 911 was initially meant to be called 901 and where GT3 comes from.
Well done in 7 minutes. The history of 911 race cars would take hours and still be incomplete. How did the street version of the 911 GT3 come to be? There were race versions of the 356 before but the real racecars were separate models such as the 904/906/908. And with the 911 there were RS(Renn sport) models early on. But now there are Carrera cup cars in a one marque series along with the GT3 series cars and the GTE at Le Mans and in the US racing. But the GT3 demonstrated a direct link from the race cars and production cars. So not only does Porsche sell many race cars for different series but limited numbers of road cars to build the brand image. Ferrari has done this also but not with the same profitability. Chances are if you go to an open track day or sports car race series or walk through the paddock at a track or the parking area, you will find more 911s than any other car. Even the exclusive GT3 and RS versions. That is how successful Porsche has become with the 911 and GT car program.
Well done. good video, ill share it
Like the way you explained
But the slowest cars are actually GT4 class
He said out of the three though
