They practically pulled an Inception here: In the film, the goal was for Leonardo DiCaprio to have Cillian Murphy (Scarecrow from Batman Begins) be inspired to dissolve his father's business empire. He did so with a "mind heist" that would lead Scarecrow into realizing that his father does not want to be him. And for Scarecrow to build something himself. As a result, Scarecrow will want to dissolve his Father's empire. Scarecrow believes he made that decision by himself but in reality he was tricked. Rick basically did an entire heist that will result in Morty becoming uninterested in making his script. Morty as a result chooses not to make that Netflix series. Morty does not know that was Rick's plan all along. THIS WAS INCEPTION W/O DREAMING!!!

I think we gotta give a huge props for the animations and drawings in this episode! This green room looked so dope and they've definitely improved immensely!

I don’t know about the specifics but there isn’t a dimension where there’s a past Rick and Morty.

The cronenberg episode in season 1 is referenced again in season 2, and the end of season 2 (Rick going to prison) goes directly into season 3 (Rick breaking out of prison), and the end of season 3 goes directly into season 4 (you can tell by the change in the family dynamic that's alluded to in the season 3 finale). So we have established that the seasons are sequential. Also in the promotional material, they clearly say something along the lines of "follow us for an adventure with the smartest Rick and the mortyest Morty"- which again has already been established as our current Morty, not evil Morty."

Morty getting his dreams of signing a deal with Netflix crushed shows that Rick fears that Netflix signing on for an unlimited number of future shows in real life (just like there were an unlimited number of heist outcomes) will create a potential for Morty to no longer go on adventures with Rick at some point in the future. Rick would rather keep Morty to himself, he was willing to kill an entire planet and he is willing to kill the deal with Netflix. Rick wants Morty to himself and doesn’t want to share him with us, either.

The ending was most likely both reference and foreshadowing. Clearly something is coming and also visual metaphors like that were use before on screen.
As for the pre-watch discussion, I'm a shy pooper in the sense that I don't want anyone listening in on me taking a shit. At college our bathroom was right outside the room and, if someone farted in the bathroom, the people in the room would hear. So I'd sometimes walk over to the college's public bathroom instead because it was empty most of the time and I'd have more privacy away from the dorm room.
Lol When I was in school the "alternative" wing or special ed as it was called they had 4 bowls next to each other no stalls. And a trough instead of urinals.
This season as of right now is literally just regular Rick and Morty adventures and I love it. It seems like instead of following a hand me down script and stuff they decided to just fuck that and do what they want to do.
What if in these 5 episodes we are seeing evil Morty's origin. It wouldn't be time travel just flashbacks and we have seen him driven to becoming a literal monster/akira and have his dream of Jessica trampled on, become far more confident and willing to hurt others (Jerry scene in episode 2) and now becoming more disenfranchised as well as desensitised to the things in this episode. If we are following c-137 then maybe Rick being the "Rickest rick" eventually creates Evil Mortys out of any morty.
Several of these episodes have made an effort to maintain continuity with previous seasons, so if they're flashbacks to Evil Morty's past, his timeline would have to be the first one we've seen that's not contemporary to our own.

What's even funnier is that they also proved how fun heist movies can be even if they are stupid.

The gathering storm isn't a reference to anything, it was just a set up for the punch line to a joke. "Yeah it might be a twister", because the episode had twists.... episode description is even "twists and turns abound".
What if evil Morty is just a time-traveling Morty who we are seeing being developed right now. What if our fed up Morty finally started using the time-traveling stuff box in the garage.

I used to love heist movies, but after watching this episode, I’m over it. Rick and Morty didn’t ruin anything for me it just showed me how dumb heist movies really are

I'm a shy pooper in the sense that I don't want anyone listening in on me taking a shit. At college our bathroom was right outside the room and, if someone farted in the bathroom, the people in the room would hear. So I'd sometimes walk over to the college's public bathroom instead because it was empty most of the time and I'd have more privacy away from the dorm room.

This season as of right now is literally just regular Rick and Morty adventures and I love it. It seems like instead of following a hand me down script and stuff they decided to just fuck that and do what they want to do.
Don't know about Ready Player One, but Ghost in the Shell had the scenes with splitting hands.
What if in these 5 episodes we are seeing evil Morty's origin. It wouldn't be time travel just flashbacks and we have seen him driven to becoming a literal monster/akira and have his dream of Jessica trampled on, become far more confident and willing to hurt others (Jerry scene in episode 2) and now becoming more disenfranchised as well as desensitised to the things in this episode. If we are following c-137 then maybe Rick being the "Rickest rick" eventually creates Evil Mortys out of any morty.
Several of these episodes have made an effort to maintain continuity with previous seasons, so if they're flashbacks to Evil Morty's past, his timeline would have to be the first one we've seen that's not contemporary to our own.
