Those screws might not actually be Phillips, but something called Japanese Industrial Standard (JIS) that looks similar but actually works better, especially if you use a proper JIS driver. Using a Philips screwdriver on a JIS screw can strip it if it’s a soft metal. I stripped a couple on Toyota IAC valves before I learned about the differences and bought the correct Japanese screwdriver. Great videos for CX-5 drivers - keep ‘em coming!
Thanks so much for the video! I was horrified my A/C was starting to have mechanical issues (it’s peak summer in Texas) but turn out it was just a few crusty leaves that were making a whirring sound.
My replacement part was a little different and i was super confused. It looks the same only its all black and metal. Not plastic like the og part. It comes with a little plastic piece that you slide over the metal fork looking piece and one the screws goes in that plastic piece. Only 2 screws with the new piece. Otherwise your video perfectly guided me. Thank you!
Hey, do you also have a video with how to remove the knee airbag. My wifes cx30 has one and the ac makes a clicking noise which I think is coming from the blower motor.
When I turn on fresh air I smell a little burn, I wonder if it's the blower motor. My engine temperature is close to the middle 210F when in operation. I didn't pay attention before, is this a normal temperature? thanks.
Mine fails to startup out of the blue , bump the cage and it starts?? Also when i leave the glove box off it works . Can not see any obstruction. Now this is strange. Any thoughts please?
Im replacing one this week due to clicking noise. The blower motor speed also fluctuates. any kind of noise coming from the blower motor is not good. The only thing you should hear is AIR.
My 2014 cx-5 blower fails to startup or stops with the glove box in place… removed the box it runs fine . I see no obstruction , have you ever experienced that?
@@CARDIAXPLAYS You got a link for the replacement motor you used? all the sub $50 ones on ebay and amazon for 2018+, says they are for CX5's with manual HVAC controls ONLY, and have a different plug connector type.
Thank you, it was helpful. Some tree leaves where stuck inside the fan after filter change. I guess best is change filter more often to avoid droping dirt to fan. Can you make video of battary change? Does it needs teaching to system via computer or drop the new one in place and ready to go.
Its the same process as long as your vehicle isn't equipped with a knee air bag. If you kept your original window sticker you can see if it came with this option from the factory.

Did this today on my 2015 CX5. instructions were clear and helpful.

Mine does the same, I just tell my to wife to kick it, not sure if I should change or wait till it goes completely out

The wire is tough to remove on mine, even after pressing the connector and pulling. I'm afraid to pull it by the wire. Not sure how durable it is.
